Mo Salah

I think it’s fine to like or respect rival players. I think it’s daft as feck to hope those players stay at rival clubs and continue their world class exploits.
Respect, yes. I suppose I may have liked players who were not at a Premier League rival. I'm thinking of someone like Ronaldinho, for example. As for your second point, agreed. All kinds of weird.

Liking opposition players, especially those who play/played for rival clubs is a strange phenomena. Just because someone may not be a complete cnut or has a vanilla personality, does not make them likeable. The fact that he chose to spend his best years at that shell of a club, automatically fails to endear him to me.

Just my opinion of course.
I think I said I disliked him because he played at City, but beyond that he was a great player and not a cringe person. Nothing against him per se, but nor am I a fan of any rival player.

I think it's fine if he plays for a proper club.

Whoever plays for some artificial sportswashing construct like City can just feck off.

Well, if some day some Russian/Chinese/American/Arab State buys Hannover 96, I wonder what would you think of people trashing Hannover 96 becoming a Powerhouse riding those huge ammount of dollars...

No idea what the thread is about overall now. But he's definitely among the best ever to play in the Premier League.

Personally would put him after Henry in the attacking stakes.

I never thought that Mo was a hard worker in training and such, I always felt he was a bit like the south american skillfull type, being laid back, easy going regarding that.

My favourite non United player annoyingly playing for Liverpool.

Some people are just weird. He is there for 7-8 years now, you couldn't find any other non Liverpool player you like in that time?

Probably you are not aware but we are indeed in deep trouble about investors taking over the team. But at least here we are talking about people who are involved and supporting/sponsoring the team for decades and so far the club retains control and I feel relatively comfortable supporting it.

But to be clear, if the club sells the team off to someone I probably wouldn't support the professional team anymore.

Maybe I would support the Darts team instead? The club does a lot.

Haha - to be honest there’s not many players I like who doesn’t/ didn’t play for us. Currently probably Yamal, Modric. Not many else.

hahah, dunno Stef, what I meant it's that dubious Capitals from anywhere, Governments using huge clubs, huge traditional clubs playing the Old Money fella (even with an origin with popular ties), always had a say in Football and way more lately...yet some clubs like Hannover96 and even City, are real clubs, with real roots, old, with real fans since time and sometimes great academies.

I get it that in the gist of fighting against our city rivals, derbies, or classics of any type, we will throw shit to smaller clubs, or big but not succeesful ones would be targeted if suddenly a money influx made them a force, more competitive, yet at the end of the day if a Boca fan throws shit to Argentinos Juniors because tomorrow someone buys them and have the money to create a team and destroy everyone, that wouldn't erase their tradition, history and suffering fans till that day...

...YET another REAL ISSUE would be that Football Associations take better CARE of who is really investing, becasue even leaving aside some obvious Corrupted Arab Sates, even some apparent merely Financial Firms adevntures, not few times have lots of interests and dirty fellas behind. Also when these more or less new enterprises didn't existed, only the Big fishes were listened at the table when it came to how divide revenews, certain politics, it was never easy for the Hannovers, City, Getafes of thsi world in the past and these new situations of "investros" was in not few cases brought by the greed of huge clubs, letting the thieves wnter througth the front door.I

I know that first hand with Boca there are/were lots of Political connections thougth the years, even still being a Club of the "socios", that many Barras operated as armed forces for certain important people or how Huge Clubs are used to propell political carreers etc. I get it that some stuff it's as obvious as the ckear sky of how dubious the owner is, yet at the end of the day the fans still are fans and many where there when they couldn't beat anyone.
A real out of the blue, absolute money based invention would be sthg like in the USA when they create a franchises out of thin air, yet in Eruope and South America, this scenarios hardly exist to such extremes.

Sorry for the off topic man.

Really? I can make a Bible of rival players I would have liked to have in my team (some of them even happened and joined us). This doesn't prevent of shitting on them on an actual match against them, during the match, yet even in those ocasions someitmes I foudn myself thinking, "WTF what a freaking player, he is destroying us".
