MLB 2023

Rasmussen’s done til this time next year, gonna have elbow surgery to implant a brace around the ulnar ligament; that’s the second key starter lost from our opening day roster.

We need to cobble together some minor league talent & go get a starter. Not savvy enough to know who to get, just that we need to do so.

KC reliever is on ball 12. Now 13.

Never seen this before.

14th. pitch is finally a strike.

Nice. I hope you show those royals who's boss :)
Brought up a pitcher from Durham to start this game specifically so McClanahan can have a fee more days off to rest his back. Who knows how he will fare, but the Royals are a pretty good team to pop his cherry (I think it's his first call up to the bigs).big.

e - well, now it looks as though it's a bullpen day.

A great day in Cincinnati with two wins. Giants win 7 in a row. Going to see them in DC Saturday, hopefully that run is still going by then :)

also Oakland won so my dad is happy

Boone isn't going to be managing the Yankees much longer at this rate.

Lucky you, especially since Webb is scheduled! Luciano was promoted to AAA yesterday, so maybe he’s coming up this year? Even if he doesn’t, and even if Harrison doesn’t get a cup of coffee, I can’t imagine there has ever been a rookie class this impactful for the Giants. Exciting times!

We have been struggling for a while now with our hitting. Today we got two hits in four consecutive innings with feck all to show for it.

Gonna start the series tomorrow with the Orioles level in the standings.

We may not even finish in a WC spot if the way we have played the last 30 days continues.

This is not going well

Angels playing a double header today. Ohtani pitched all 9 innings in the first game giving away 1 hit & 0 runs. Then hits 2 home runs in the second game

He's incredible but I'm really surprised the Angels have decided to be buyers this deadline. I'd love to see Ohtani in the playoffs - for his sake, not the Angels - but I don't think they'll make it.
Angels are on an 8-2 clip recently & are only 3.5 games out of the final WC spot. That had to inform their decisions as well as the underwhelming offers from potential suitors.

I actually let myself dream the past 24 hours about acquiring him after some baseball cognoscenti recently had deemed the Rays as one of three potential landing spots for Ohtani. It was a fun 24 hours.

Now we HAVE to go get two bonafide starters, no questions asked. It would be criminal if we didn’t.

Yeah at the very least it makes the run-in more interesting. I still put Rangers top and Astros second but it'll be close. Much better for the competition to keep him in LA.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to you guys too. I find it strange to see Orioles top of that division and wonder if they'll drop off at some point.

Any word yet on Eflin's MRI scan?

Our bats decided to quiet down during the weeks where we had a bullpen starter session & Bradley pitching, kind of a confluence of shitty streams.

Orioles do seem a solid team. They’re young enough not to realize that they’re supposed to suck. The ignorance of youth & all that.

Haven’t heard about Eflin yet, surprising that no word has come out yet. It’s his potential loss is why we absolutely need two starters by EOB the first of August. We have the farm system to make some deals with sellers, we just gotta get it done.

Yandy Diaz also went out hurt the last game when he tweaked his groin making a stretchy catch. Haven’t heard about him either.

We’ve only won five games in July. That’s epically bad.

e - well, this is comforting…

Prayers for Cleveland dealing with you guys
We did part with a top 40 prospect going their way, but I can't believe Cleveland let this cat go when they are in the thick of a pennant run. Screams defeatist.

Civale currently has the lowest ERA of any pitcher in the majors with at least 75 innings. That's quite a plug & play win for us, especially now Bradley will be off starting duty except for bullpen games.

Another year of wishing Cashman would do the right thing and be a seller at the deadline, another year of disappointment instead no doubt.
