MLB 2023

Giants top prospect, and maybe the top LHP prospect in baseball, makes his debut tonight against Philly. 109K's in 67 innings in AA and AAA this year. Local kid (San Jose) as well.
Make sure he is dating age appropriately.

Holy fecking shit, a VAR level of shittiness call in the Rays game to keep our winning run from scoring in the bottom of the ninth.

The officials completely shit the bed with this call…

Huge. I wonder how much that impacts his price in the offseason?
A good chunk, I’d say.

Is it even possible to remain a DH while rehabbing from TJS? The tear is in the elbow which was operated on years ago, but I don’t know if he was totally shut down or not.

Well Harper did it this year but he hasn't quite looked the same just yet (has been getting better of late). I reckon it'll take a year for Shohei come back and a few months more to feel fully comfortable batting again.

Pitching? I could well see him being limited for the next two years. Maybe even go into a reliever role for a while before he gets back in the rotation.

TJS has hit a few clubs hard this year.

Ohtani will still get huge offers in the off season, he’s worth it for the bat alone even if he rehabs for a year.

They’ll be big offers, no doubt, but they might not be at the stratospheric levels that only a few teams could afford. This injury might bring in more teams as possibilities.

That’s true, I still think he’s heading to record figures, I mean he definitely is but any team is taking on huge risk with it now.

Rangers begin another implosion round after seemingly righting the ship a couple weeks back in 12-2 run. Now it's six straight losses after another late blown lead. At this rate they'll manage to at one time have had the top record in the AL (I think they did for bit, maybe thereabouts) to possibly finishing third in the AL West and limping into a wild card spot.

Stephen Strasburg is retiring age 35. Will probably go down as a Nats legend for his efforts in the '19 WS run.

$105m left on his contract so it'll be interesting to see how that gets sorted out (deferred payments?).

Fecking hell they've lost seven (7) on the bounce

Will Aaron Boone get canned? Cashman?

Can't wait to start our sweep of them in two hours.

Kid is damn good. Been a funky year to be a Giants fan, but all the rookies have been fun.

0-7 in our last seven at Guardians Stadium, all by one run each time. At least two of them were extra innings.

Irritating.

Fecking Rangers getting smoked by Minnesota the past couple weeks and now in danger of missing the playoffs.
That’s quite an unfortunate slump vis à vis timing. Y’all were positioned well a couple of weeks ago. I do want you to keep Houston out.

Always great to see the cathedral of baseball stadiums make its impact on the game. Just your average Tropicana triple.

Aww you made me check my fantasy to team to see whether Paredes or Siri did something. Sadly not.
Sorry! I was just so chuffed that our stadium turned a lazy, certain inning-ending pop up to left center into a triple which led into a 2 run dinger the next batter.

Siri did make a quality play against the wall in the outfield in the first inning.

The Rangers bullpen is straight trash. Chapman has been garbage the past month, the most overrated reliever in the game for me, and the guy sent to KC, Ragans, has suddenly turned into a quality starter while winning AL pitcher of the month for August. No one could have predicted that turnaround. The starting pitching hasn't been much better the last few weeks and the offense has regressed (save Seager) but this bullpen has been an epic disaster.

Assuming you won't be out of contention already, those games against the Mariners are going to be huge!

I also completely forget you signed De Grom :nervous:

You should get Josh Lowe on your fantasy team during this sprint to the finish. Improved his average about 80 points from last season & should be the team MVP for his overall output this year, especially with RISP.

Yandy will probably win it & I would have no issue at all with that choice, it’s just cool that we have lesser known players putting up some phenomenal stats. We needed such after the Wander debacle.
