MLB 2023

Damn, one of the small pleasures of my life is falling asleep to a Rays game. Sucks to have a rain out.

But now Monday is a double header. So good comes from the rain.

Need a couple of Ws today to assuage my grief of coming to terms that City will win the treble.
No Sox are gonna do it, we need some victories for a team in Red not one that plays in Sky blue :D

Got a new ‘heartburn heartburn heartburn’ situation in my life. The Rays bullpen.

Especially during the fecking bullpen pitching days.

@calodo2003 What are your thoughts on Taylor Walls? I have him in fantasy and he seems to do good things sometimes but not enough to make me feel he's undroppable.

Asking as I literally never watch the Rays myself :)
Quite the versatile tool in the lineup from batting average to defensive position with some pop. I would classify him as a consistent 7 to 7.5 in footballing ratings.

Kinda like Daley Blind in a way when Blind was playing regularly well for us. Even has a passing resemblance.

Not undroppable, but very useful.

Whatever it is it can't be as bad as the Red Sox's!

Just coughed up five runs to the Red Stockings with relative ease.

Now their bully is starting to leak oil.
Red Sox can hit, but the numbers the pen gives up in the late innings is as bad as it gets

I like the concept of a bullpen day in the abstract, but it’s days like this that are infuriating.
Well the Red team managed a win :)

Gotta say that was a helluva hit by Turner, that was a pretty good pitch

Didn’t even know our second game yesterday ended like this til now. Siri is making us forget Kiermaier was a Ray…

Great. Our bullpen is up.

e - be still my heart. The bully records a save.

Forgot to post this last night. Hell of a double play at the most crucial part of the game. Walk off was three pitches later...

Was concerned that our early season success was a touch inflated due to the rather easy schedule, but we’ve proven that it wasn’t.

We’re 12-4 since we gave up 20 runs in a game v. Toronto.

Like where the season might be heading.

The team's +155 run differential through its first 60 games is the best to start a season by any MLB team since the 1939 Yankees.
Just hope the Rangers can keep it up with Houston and LAA right behind them. Shame they're not in the Central and could have the division wrapped by late August.

Thought this was interesting. https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/st...all-mlb-farm-system-college-world-series-2023
Why LSU baseball is better than some MLB farm systems

I don't think he's had a single hit since you posted this

A type of game that shell not be name (hint:rhymes with yo-yo) alert!

HAHAHAHA! As I typed that sentence the giants got a hit with 2 outs in the 8th. The baseball gods are always listening and brook no violation of the rules.

I only started watching the 8th and then it ended. The crazier thing was the fact that they guy didn’t throw a single pitch over 90mph

If these 3 games are anything to go by, Texas v. Tampa Bay in the ALCS would be one hell of a series.

Reason 156 I would never, ever, ever let a son/nephew/etc. play college baseball as a pitcher. College coaches are monsters.
