Pretty surprised by Barmby - looked classy whenever I saw him play. Wonder what the motivation there is.
Won't we be short of players for the reserves next season?
City can get fecked. The only English starlet who'll be poached this summer is Matt Willock's kid brother, by us from Le Arse.
Chelsea have an issue arising with highly-rated defender Andreas Christensen. The Denmark U21 centre half wants to play more games and other clubs, such as City, will offer the promise of a quicker route to the first team.

City apparently interested in Rashford.
Even though he's too young to sign, I heard today that RVP's lad prefers City because of the coaching!
I'm not gonna pretend that I care about a 8-9 years old kid's club selection.Football is a game of opinion.Numerous kids has chosen us over City.Few kids even chose the likes of Crewe over big clubs like us.Doesn't make us an inferior academy compared to them.
People loves the idea of having son of current or ex-players in our youth setup but realistically speaking there is no guarantee that they have a better chance to become a star than a random kid of our setup.
For your records we have Meulensteen,Savage,Giggs's sons in our rank anyway (and Ritchie Wellens's son but he didn't play any senior match for us so his son must be crap!).
Forgot to say but congratulations to your son and the best of luck to him. Thanks for any info too.Jesus wept, don't shoot the messenger, it's only information, and for your record my lad is in the academy, I have shared the info as this story has been in the media.
By the way khoazany you should do your research, there is a massive emphasis on the 8 year old age group, as this is the youngest age a player can sign for the academy, after this clubs have to pay a transfer fee in line with the EPPP. Welbeck, Pearson, Wilson, Lingard & Thorpe to name a few all joined the club at 8.
Gigg's lad is 7 by the way, so he's not in anyone's academy just yet.

This was done already in another thread. RVP and P Neville's sons both train with City. I think it had something to do with the schools they attend?
Either way Its not a pissing contest when its comes to 11 year old "footballers"
Khoazany's post above does touch on an interesting point, City are aggressively going after our best local talent from the academy and have taken some of our best players and coaches by offering financial rewards. This is only going to get worse with the imminent opening of the Etihad campus. Utd will definitely have to change their approach in how the academy is run in order to counter this trend.

An United U11s squad (born in or after 03') will participate in a tournament called Mini Euro 2014.We will be in the same group as Shalke,AGF Aarhus ,DTFS Team Europa ,Estrellas Fukushima ,Chertanovo Moskva. There'll be 3 groups consist of 6 teams each.Top 2 of each group will proceed to the "Gold group".3th and 4th will further compete in the "Silver group" and "Bronze group" for the rest.
The tournament will take place in Czech for the first day (17/5) and German for the second day (18/5).We finished 5/16 in the last year's version.
Update: we lost vs. Shalke 0-1 in the first match and won 9-0 vs. Estrellas Fukushima in the second match.
Update: we won Chertanovo Moskva 1-0 in the third match of the day.
Update: United U11s - DTFS Team Europa 5-1
All I have stated is what I heard, that he has chosen City. Both have a different philosophy when it comes to training, City is very much about passing and playing as a team, Utd is about dribbling and being individual. He has simply chosen City because he prefers the training. From what I saw he was struggling at Utd because it is very individual
and is very much a sink or swim environment.
Very much a none story, but I thought I would share the info.

Our U11s finished 2nd in the Mini Euro 2014.Apparently there's no semi-final so our lad proceeded straight through the final after they drew Sparta Praha 3-3,lost 0-1 vs. Porto, won Ajax 3-1,Shalke 04 2-0 and Karpaty Lviv 2-0 to finished 2nd in the Gold group stage.Unfortunately we couldn't beat the same Ajax team in the final (lost 2-3)
There seem to be reports that Chris Willock is likely to sign pro with Arsenal after a revised offer.
U17 Euro 2014: England history beckons for Taylor Moore in final
England midfielder Taylor Moore will create a piece of history if he helps his side beat Holland to win the Under-17 European Championship on Wednesday.
England internationals plying their trade abroad are rare. No-one has won a major prize while playing overseas.
Moore, 17, who grew up in France and plays for Lens, could do exactly that.
"I have the best of both worlds," said Moore. "French and English football are different but I intend to learn from the strengths of each style."
Moore's route to the final at Malta's Ta'Qali National Stadium is an unconventional one.
Brought up until he was eight in Walthamstow, east London, Moore's family then moved to northern France, intending to remain for only 12 months.
They ended up liking it so much they are still there, meaning Moore's development, and that of his three younger brothers, has been through the French system.
It is markedly different to the one he would have been exposed to had he remained in England.
From his local club he was spotted by Lens, and he was so impressed at the set-up he decided to join.
"In France they have Under-17s and Under-19s, the reserve group and the first team," said Moore.
"From 15, you go full-time at a youth training camp. You live away from home, the club sorts out your schooling and basically watches over every aspect of your life, including what time you are asleep.
"My stories make some of the English lads raise an eyebrow but if the statistic about more professional footballers in the world being from France than any other nation apart from Brazil at the moment is correct, they are obviously doing something right."
Moore has no complaints, which is why there is no hurry for the Tottenham fan to return to the country of his birth.
"I would love to play in the Premier League," he said.
"But my club has just been promoted to the first division in Franceso hopefully they will do well, and I still have my education to finish, so I am happy where I am.
"The future is very unpredictable and it is better to have something you can fall back on."
The immediate future is a Netherlands team that defeated England earlier in the competition and scored five against Scotland in their semi-final.
"There is definitely a sense of revenge for that first game," said Moore.
"For all of us, this will be the biggest game of our lives so far. I am sure everyone will have a few nerves but there is a sense of excitement as well."
