Always feel we're going to sign him. Easily one of the highest profile of Holland's 2001 group. Ajax's best 2002 seems to be Zamani who were going to sign if not for issue with the agency company and Ajax's best 2003 is an United fan.

Immediate competition for Burkhart surely? He'll be 16 in January like Nishan, and both will be competing for one striker spot, assuming he joins U18s straight away, which you would think he would with his pedigree.

Nishan is going to be 17, Redan turns 16 in February, so he signs in the summer if anything. But lets be careful not to overrate his "pedigree" like Chong eh?

No Redan is one year younger, still an U16 this season. He would compete with nobody as we released our only U16s striker.

Stop being childish.

Unless, of course, you are indeed a child, in which case I'm sorry for the discrimination.

Ah okay, a report I read on our imminent deal said that he turns 16 in January I think, and although Nishan is older, I thought Redan may be in the same group if he's good enough.

Anyway that's good, I know competition is useful, but I think Nishan needs some games to find himself here. He's already been dropped for Bohui of late, and I'd like to see what he really has to offer over some time, as I haven't seen too much yet.

You reckon we ll get all three ?

We definitely will try to sign all of them. I'd like to see us going for Ajax's Nouri Cheung as well who's in the same age group as Zamani. Naci Unuvar from their 2003 group is another very good one whom I heard that will move abroad at some point.

Not sure about the 13s and 14s but there are some factors which make me care even less about results like the U15s
- U14 goalkeeper
- No natural CB
- Striker with Ireland
- Greenwood got injured
- Difference in philosophy

The result is not great but I'm willing to bet that more players from our U15s will make the first team than players from that City team.
Love this from Rio. He gives a mini speech to the United U15s.

Was just about to post this.

Not sure how much of this was posing and posturing from Rio but respect for him to take the time to do it all the same. That will be a lesson these kids won't ever forget.

Unfortunately, it doesn't mean anything. TFM can't even get 20 mins under José. They might as well just be training cones.
I'm sure the players are fairly happy to get to train with the first team.

I'd love him to get a chance. Certainly better going forward than Darmian.
For sure and I hope so too. You can even see in the u23s with him missing how important he is in attack. And people will try downplay the importance or the impact of a fullback but we just have to look at the short spells the youth fullbacks got last season and how their attacking impetus improved the side. The fact is that fullbacks need to attack and are very important to a side, especially one that is trying to be a top side. We can't accommodate fullbacks who aren't going to contribute going forward.
I thought he was superb in his two outings for the first team last year too and is certainly ready for it. I'd also say despite CBJ being impressive for the first team last year I would rate Riley higher. CBJ does have a good whipping cross which come to think of it would probably be well utilized by Zlatan up top but I still think Riley's pace, energy, directness, and willingness to constantly get up and down the pitch gives him a better attacking output. Then in defence his pace and strength give him a boost on CBJ and he is good in the tackle as well. I think CBJ's timidness holds him back a bit. Both good players but I'd give Riley the edge personally. I just don't see him getting a chance so I hope he recovers from injury, not sure how long he is out for, and can get a loan in January. I think his style of play is on that would work well on loan as well.

I am pretty certain he is better than Darmian defending as well.

I dunno about that, experience is always important for a defender. But he's certainly not weak in defence. Better than Varela IMO.

Darmian is pretty useless at left back defensively. If you have pace or a bit of physical presence about you, you will go past him easily. Joe Riley couldn't do much worse in that respect

Perhaps. He's very good tactically and on set pieces though, which is presumably why Van Gaal and Mourinho like him. I do think first team players are sometimes underrated compared to youngsters, particularly the defenders. But regardless, I'd rather watch Joe Riley play football for us than Darmian, maybe he can impress on loan if the injury isn't too bad.

I don't know if many of you follow Italian football but looks like we were close to signing the youngest debutant in Serie A:

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...baggio?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Copy_to_clipboard

'So, Pellegri. There is some disagreement about whether he has broken Amadeo Amadei’s record as the youngest player ever to feature in Serie A. By my own calculations, Pellegri was 15 years, nine months and five days when he came on, whereas Amadei was 15 years, nine months and six days on the occasion of his debut for Roma back in 1936. Genoa, however, only seem to think he equalled the record, so perhaps I’m missing something.
In the end, it doesn’t really matter. What you need to know is simply that Pellegri is a tall and robust forward, dubbed unhelpfully as the “new Leo Messi” by Genoa owner Enrico Preziosi last year. He appeared to be on his way to Manchester United - who reportedly even had a flight booked and two tickets set aside for him to watch their game against Chelsea, only for Pellegri to back out at the last minute. Born and raised in Genoa, he appears for now to want to take his first steps with his local team.'

Dean Henderson started today for Grimsby and kept a clean sheet. First appearance for them.

Was MoTM on his second appearance. Start again today vs. Carlisle United.

Hopefully can keep another clean sheet. Turning out to be a good loan. No wonder the loan was extended till the end of the month.
If it goes on, maybe will be extended till the end of the season.

If he plays more games it will be extended. He's a special keeper, some incredible saves in the past 3 games, loved already at Grimsby.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Everton are tracking Bury teenagers Jacob Bedeau and Callum Styles, sources close to the League One club have told ESPN FC.

Bedeau and Styles have broken into the first team in recent weeks and their emergence has alerted a number of the Premier League's big guns.

Bedeau, a 17-year-old centre-back, has featured in Bury's last six games, while midfielder Styles has started the last three games for the Shakers.

Styles made history last season when he became the first player born in the 21st century to play in the Football League when he came on for the last 15 minutes of their final game against Southend on May 8, only to be caught up in controversy when Bury were deducted three points as Styles had not been properly registered.

Bury have a good record of producing exciting young talent in recent seasons with Liverpool signing youngster Emeka Obi at the back end of last year and Everton snapping up defender Matthew Foulds 12 months ago.

Bury rate Bedeau and Styles as two of the best young players to come through their ranks and are resigned to seeing them moving up the football ladder in the near future.

Scouts from the four Premier League clubs were all in attendance to watch Bedeau and Styles in Monday's clash with League One leaders Sheffield United.

Utd have already passed on Styles once, when he was released from Burnley, before joining Bury. Lack of mobility was the reason given.
