Miscellaneous Reserve/Youth News

It absolutely can/should be the case, anecdotally my 200m time came down by a full second between year 9 and 10 and I USED to be (sniffle) rapid.

Then again he’ll probably focus only on football if he, his family and coaches feel he’s got a chance in the game. And it’s not like he needs to be any faster for football.

I didn't do anything special, it was just growth/growing into my frame that did it for me. He should get naturally faster and the limited S&C that they will do in his age group should see him right.

Speed is not always the answer, acceleration ( ability to get from a to B in short distances from a standing start) is more cruical. Denis Law (my all time favourite footballer) wasnt quick had great reflexes and acceleration)

No-one’s said it is. And we don’t have to worry about this boy’s acceleration either.

And sorry if I came across as rude. You’re right, in football it’s very much about acceleration as well as deceleration. As a forward his pace in longer distance could come in handy though.
no offense taken, this forum is about opinions. If we all agreed on everything it would be very boring here

You’re right, just think my tone was uncalled for.
I see you are from Helsinki, I spent many happy times in that city and in Kuovala. I was a IT consultant in the paper industry and was contarcted to UPM Kymmene and Stroa Enzo

Yeah it’s a nice city. Kouvola maybe less so, but I’m happy to hear you enjoyed your time here

According to a source online - we are interested in signing 17 year old Oghenetejiri Adejenughure who plays for RB Salzburg. I don't know if he is any good - but I would love for us to sign him, simply so I can hear our MUTV-commentators try to pronounce that name :)

Young keeper Teddy Garside has left the club and joined Blackburn.

Another keeper in that age group, Jonathan Gordon, has also left and signed for Stoke. So leaves Darlington Osuchukwu and Jake Ford as the two keepers in this age group who will now be vying for scholarships over the next 2 seasons.

What is the story with Shola Shortire? Has he left the club? Looked like he was going to be a player but seemed to dropped off the face of the earth.

Malaki Golding, full-back who was part of the U14 title winning side, has signed for Leeds.

That's a very tough draw.

Huddersfield were in the championship last season, and are a yo-yo club between that and league one. So are Barnsley, who were in league one play offs last season. Doncaster ended last season as one of form teams in the country and were in league 2 play offs.

Our U21's will do really well to qualify from that.

Believe new scholars will have their signing day tomorrow at OT.

Don't think this is actually happening yet btw, they're just returning back to training today it would appear. Should take place very soon though
