Mikel Arteta | Lego Pep watch

Who cares if their football is enjoyable? Pochettino didn't even do his interviews in English in his first year at Spurs.
The players care, if they can't understand half of what the coach expect them to do. Wenger could speak to english, french, german players with no issue. Klopp can do English/German and Pep can do English/Spanish and surely some good level of german. Conte had sufficient english towards the end, 18 months in Emery was still struggling. You don't have to do a Ted talk but basic football vocabulary is needed.
Ljungberg knows every young player at the club and they respect him, he won't get the job full time but i'm fine with him as a caretaker. I'm sure he will make a much more sensible selection at the weekend.

Can Allegri speak English ? It was annoying when people were raving about Emery's ability to communicate. Going from Wenger to Emery was rough. Ancelotti/Naggelsman for me, with the latter the ideal choice. Not convinced about the Nuno links.
Why would speaking English matter at Arsenal?

Have you seen where your players are from recently?

Arsenal tend to go for up and coming managers so I think Nuno or Howe is more likely than Benitez, Ancelloti or Allegri.

Howe would suit them very well. I’d go for him.

Also think Mourinho would have suited them in their current situation.

At least they had the bottle to sack him at this time of the season we should have done the same weeks ago.

Arsenal supporters put the club under pressure to make these decisions, leaving the stadium empty, boos and being outspoken in the media, whilst it’s all hush-hush with us because we do things “the United way” with “class”. No wonder we’re in this shithole.
What’s the point of having ‘the United way’ if you don’t practice it?!?!

Yep, Arsenal are where we were post Moyes, they're not going to get a decent manager and no one in their right mind would fancy sorting that mess out right now. The next manager needs to come in and clean out before the rebuild starts again.
Why wouldn't they get a 'decent' manager? That's so absurd.

One of the richest clubs, London base, big stadium, worldwide support. They'll be an attractive proposition as long as the new coach is guaranteed funds and time to rebuild.

Think their financials show that there are limited funds available, that and their owner has never shown himself to be keen to spend big anyway.

However, like the Spurs of late, if they want to be in the big time, they need to show that ambition.

Their attendance last night was the lowest ever since they moved. If they want that to continue then they need to change

Need to have a strong relationship with AFTV for that.

They haven’t been relevant for years, longer than us in fact. They’ve also have no glory laden trophy days to fall back on like United or Liverpool always had.

They’ll get a decent manager but it should absolutely be Benitez if they want a smart move, because that team needs a major overhaul and any established ‘sure thing’ manager would be daft to go anywhere near them.

And as for budget, they’re not rich and can’t compete with the top 4 in terms of spending. They’re buying players that no one else is in for from the french league for £80m.

I could see Rodgers go there and do very well.

I doubt Poch is going to join Arsenal soon but in the summer if for some quirk of fate there's nothing else available I don't think Poch would turn the opportunity down . His ties are much stronger to Espanyol.

Why would he leave Leicester? And didn’t Rodgers turn them down once?

I don’t know if he would, but Arsenal are a much bigger club and if he got the chance, I’m sure he’d take it. Perhaps not until the summer, but any manager would want to compete at the highest level possible. And Leicester, as fantastic as they’ve been this season, likely won’t be able to compete with the big six in the long run.

I'd like Rodgers in the summer, give an 8 months contract to an up and comer like Arteta/Vieira to prove themselves, and if not get Rodgers.

I'd have Allegri further down the list. We don't need someone who has no PL experience at this point. Spend big on Rodgers or Poch and take the hit. We've a decent squad that just needs sorting out by somebody who knows how to set up against the other teams. Spend some facking money in the summer, sort out contracts with Laca and PEA and we should be alright.
