Noooooo, hargreaves is my savour when i play as united on fifa, he scores for fun;)

Just a thought.

Maybe SAF has realised Hargreaves is way to injury prone and is selling him, in order to raise money to buy Veloso :D

And who's going to buy him at the "right" price? Well any good DM > Hargreaves just because Hargreaves is SO unreliable...

Where is Velotho ?

It would looking fecking odd after all the great British isle midfielders we've had over the years.

Giggs--Scholes--Keane--Beckham

Nani--Veloso--Anderson--Ronaldo. :wenger:

I'll eat my hat if we sign him.

I see your point clearly, it's Manchester United, pride of England...

But still, it's a very strong midfield with a bright future.

I'm sure Carrick and Hargreaves will proove they are the right men for our midfield.

Veloso eyes United move

Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso has stated a desire to join Manchester United.

The Portugal international is the latest Sporting starlet to be targeted by the Premier League champions.

Arsenal and Real Madrid are also tracking Veloso, who shone for Portugal's Under 21 side at the European Championship in the summer.

But the 21-year-old would favour a move to United to play with countrymen Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.

Dream

"I would like a new adventure in Europe," Veloso is quoted in the Daily Mirror.

"I would be happy to play for a big club but to play alongside Ronaldo and Nani would be my biggest dream of all.

I have a feeling we might go for him in January.

Dosent mean I want us to sign him though, I'm not sure where he will fit, as good a prospect he may be. We spent £17m on hargreaves, and have tons of players competiting for the central midfield positions..

yeah we do have quite a few at the moment

scholes, carrick, hargraeves, fletch, anderson

We don't need him.

CM: Scholes, Carrick, Hargreaves, Anderson, Fletcher.

Wingers: Giggs, Ronaldo, Nani, Park, Fletcher.

Central defenders: Rio, Vidic, Wes, Pique.

Maybe backup for Evra at left back, but for £20M? no....

Exactly

With the portuguese speaking/latin players we have many players like Veloso will say they dream to play for us (not only reason but huge incentive).

We dont need him like people have said here, we're pretty much covered in Central Midfield.

Having said that, Ive watched him for Portugal U21's, against us, and for Portugal recently, and he has very good technique and is very comfortable on the ball.

As good as Veloso is, I cant see space for him at United.

We have too many good players fighting for central midfield positions.

Maybe its time for Fletcher to move on? I'd be happy for Darren to move on for regular football if Veloso comes in.

I can't see it happening now to be honest - £20 f*cking mill ? No chance

If he can play at Left back, centre half and central midfielder, he is the new O Shea - and after I ve seen that Shocking video I bet he ll get along quite well with John...

I think we should sign him Hargreaves was a good signing but he does seem a bit injury prone so it would be good to have a proper DM as back up. Because when hargreaves is injured fergie is back to the old problem of finding a more defensive partner for scholes to keep the right balance in the centre of midfield. although fletcher, O'shea and even Anderson are good squad players I dont think they would have been effective last night against real quality opposition. Veloso obviously looks the part and wants to come even if we have to go to £10m and with Hargreaves injuries and the amount of games we have to play every year he's gonna be guaranteed a certain amount of games gotta be worth a punt.

He gave away a PK last night against Roma, was rather clumsy... He also looked quite slow. He is a great passer though...£20M Fergie wouldnt pay, £6M id be happy but nothing more... He wouldnt get a game in CM, Hargreaves, Scholes, Carrick, Anderson and maybe Fletch all ahead of him...
Wouldnt be that dissapointed if we didnt get him tbh.

Did you watch the game last night?

Sporting Lisbon president Felipe Soares Franco insists that Miguel Veloso will not be sold in the January transfer window.

Veloso is being watched closely by Manchester United and Arsenal, as well as a host of big hitters from around the continent including Juventus and Internazionale.

Veloso's representatives have received a number of approaches and have claimed that an English club has come close to matching the £20million release clause in his contract.

A move in January was being talked up - but Sporting supremo Soares Franco insists that he will not be allowed to move.

Soares Franco stated that when Veloso signed his new contract in January 2007 he agreed not to move for at least 18 months.

No exit

"There really does not exist a chance of the player's exit," said Soares Franco.

"This is down to the deal he signed last season - it is impossible.

"We are not interested in negotiating this subject because Miguel Veloso is one of our main players for this campaign."

The Sporting supremo insisted that he has not received any official offers - but he knows about the interest.

"Formally we have not received any offers for the kid, although we know the interest of some clubs," he said.

He'll move next summer then

Sporting Lisbon's Veloso wants Man Utd move

Manchester United are ahead of Real Madrid in the race for Sporting Lisbon star Miguel Veloso.

He played a blinder against United in the Champions League and attracted the interest of Alex Ferguson.

Now the Portugal ace admits he would happily join countrymen Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani at Old Trafford.

He said: "Of course I would love to play for Manchester United. They are a great team and it is a dream for anyone to play in great clubs."

Spanish giants Real also want versatile midfielder Veloso, 21, who can play in defence as well.

Sporting president Felipe Soares Franco admits Veloso is a major target but will put up a fight to keep him.

Franco said: "There is no chance the player will leave. We are not interested in negotiating this subject because Miguel Veloso is one of our main players for this campaign."

He's arguably better than Fletch, he can play centre back, left back and defensive midfielder, so why not.

But of course, if they ask for £20m next summer ...
