Michail Antonio | Involved in a road traffic accident

Oh I am not saying they didn't have pictures just that not many had means to take pictures and share it like nowadays , so it moot making comparisons .

You guys should watch Nightcrawler. This film is based around literal car crash news.

I don't understand all the sympathy. You don't wreck your car or yourself like that by driving the speed limit. feck him and glad nobody else was caught up in it.

Probably just reluctance to say it without knowing the full facts but unless there's factors not being reported I'm with you.

Well maybe not "feck him" but the sympathy is tinged somewhat.

I've been called out to incidents like this where the car has hit another vehicle and killed people.

When they said his ex-wife rushed to his bedside I did wonder if it wasn't an attempt at self-harm/suicide? Is there any more news about what happened yet?

No end of them crash ferraris, they think they are driving heroes and turn off al the traction control and anti-slip stuff, and that is the result. People forget just how much assistance goes into keeping these things on the road, its like drive by wire fighter jets, they are designed to be unstable and use the gadgets to make them flyable.

The first footballer I ever heard of doing it was Ian Wright, he trashed a new ferrari 360 on a straight road by turning off traction and flooring it.

Clarkson has a lot to answer for there then I reckon.

Julen Lopetegui on Michail Antonio:

"The most important thing is that he's alive, he's good.

"He broke his femur, but he's going to recover for sure.

"He's going to need time. It's about time.

"Now it's about time but the good news is that he has time because when you see the car was terrible, the accident, that's why we are happy.

"Because in the end, despite the fact we are unhappy because we lost one very important player for us, we are happy because he's going to be ready.

"Now he's strong, he's recovered himself in the next months for sure and he's going to be ready to be a player.

"The first thing is to be a man and then to be a player."
