Michail Antonio | Involved in a road traffic accident

Wolves want him, West Ham reluctant to sell. 18 months left on his deal (+1 year option). If Wolves agree a modest fee with them before the end of the window I'd like to see us match it. An absolute nuisance of a player. Just a shame about those hamstrings. Would love him as a squad option here.

Again, now they've spent 15m on Danny Ings, with Antonio likely third choice (for that lone striker role) at 32 years of age, I'd make an offer. Offers all the physicality we'd hope for, can easily play with his back to goal and carries an actual goal threat. Even for next season he'd be a very nice squad player to have.

He's even more injury prone than Martial is

We just loaned a Burnley striker. I don't think we can get much more desperate for a forward. Ten Hag will need to look to the academy in the second half of the season.

According to Transfermarkt he's last had a hamstring injury in autumn of 2020, not been injured for a season and a half. This article is about how he changed his diet to try to overcome that unwanted record.

Quality banter.

Had 13 goals and 11 assists last season, playing for West Ham.

There is no one in the academy knocking on that striker door. Weghorst is simply not enough to cover for the amount of matches we've got.

Also, I'm speculating on the premise that we have little to no money to spend and if possible, could do a bargain deal.

Linked with Chelsea on loan

Bas Dost is the one we should go for.

Score ten goals in the league three times but never managed to score more than that.

I didn't know that. That's one of their more sensible ideas. Would give them that presence they completely lack up front.

He always turns into R9 when we play him so it would be interesting to see if we can unleash that inner R9 on other teams. I'd take him on a 6 months loan deal.

On a loan perhaps, I think he would suit 3-5-2 football. Perm, no. We need to get away from taking 30+ year olds with injury records on perms.

I think it would be easier for a bigger club (pardon the expression) to take him on an 18 month deal and utilise him as a squad player, whereas he'd hardly move to Everton to be used as sparingly as he currently is. Though I think he'd do a job for you this season. I'd also hate to come up against him and DCL as a pair.

Yeah, if you are trying a loan I cannot imagine he'll be a West Ham player at the start of February. He'll surely try to see what's out there for him. Think he'd be a very useful squad player for loads of clubs (Spurs, Chelsea, United, Arsenal).

Unless we send back Felix or Zakaria, another loan in is not possible.

Only two loans per club in the Prem, even if the parent clubs aren't in the league? That would mean the same for United then with Butland and Weghorst.

Actually, looking at the limit of 2, they specifically mention "between premier League clubs" so Antonio could be on for us both!

That exclamation mark will only be appreciated by me I guess :D though I'd take him on a 18 month contract...

Feck, apparently this was the accident.

Hope he and whoever was involved in the crash are okay.

Hope he’s alright but this isn’t the first time he’s been involved in a car accident is it. Remember him wrapping his car into someone’s house and bins.

Jesus that’s looks real bad, really hoping he is ok.

Rumours going round he's smashed his legs up. Nothing more than that at the moment. Hope it's not the case.

feck. That looks horrendous

Let's not spread any rumours please when it's something so serious.

Feck me how do you survive a crash like that? Fingers crossed for him but it doesn't look good.
