Michael Oliver

4 minutes was a joke. And i thought he gave evrything to Liverpool in the first half, every touch was a foul. But he was not the problem today in general, we fecked up big time

This. Ref was perfectly fine, we're the ones who benefited from the one huge mistake by the officials.
Even it out as Rooney was not offside. Just becuase Mignolet saved it does not mean it should he forgotten..

I hate the man but he had a good game. You look daft blaming him for anything today.

Probably more than 4 minutes. Plus there were loads of other times the small-time cnuts stayed down longer than needed, plus Mingolet was wasting time every time he had the ball.

Then subs, the goal. There could easily have been 6-7 minutes added.

Ref failed at timekeeping today big style.

Doesn't someone else do the injury time? 4th official or someone.

I dont blame him, he didnt influence the game negatively, it was pretty decent this time, as good as we could hope with him, but i think he was happy with the draw in the end.

Which is fair enough no? The pressure on Refs is huge these days. To go away from a big game without any heat on you and questions about your livelihood is probably a good day.

As I said, I can't bare the man but there's no value in whinging about a very non-controversial display.

still baffles me the criticism directed his way in this thread. Course everyone makes mistakes but he makes considerably less than the rest of the refs in the league. Best ref around in england by a considerable margin, however, that still only makes him the best of a bad bunch.

What? Huge difference between an onside call that leads to a goal and one that was saved.
It could've led to a goal too. There was still plenty of time for Liverpool to defend after the offside didn't go their way.

Really? He was fine today but generally he's a nightmare for us.

Ruined the game for us again with another horrendous decision.

Our chances of winning were gone when he decided to allow Rooney to remain on the pitch.

Which decision?

He didn't make any major errors and he played no part in the result but I do think he was too eager to blow for fouls for the slightest physical contact.

Is he? In what sense? I can't remember complaining about him much personally.

Sending off Di maria for pulling his shirt but not sending off Joe Hart for practically headbutting him. Denied us blatant penalty vs City on Rashford. I believe it was him that fecked us vs Watford when Martial got cleaned out and they scored. Probably more.

Oh, I remember the Joe Hart one specifically. That was a joke.

You lot moan about the ref every game now. It's truly a massive conspiracy.

It's a symptom of Mourinho sides, mate. He moans about them in every interview and every presser. Often pre-match as well as post-match.

It resonates with the fans who optimistically regurgitate his opinions. The same thing happened at Chelsea with the 'conspiracy against Chelsea' nonsense.

Oliver was fine today. I thought he tried a little too hard to even things up after the penalty (which was a correct decision) and let a few tackles on the United end go.. but aside from that, decent.

He's a terrible referee. Him and Clattenburg are both shocking, and it amazes me that they get so much praise. Clattenburg's a literal show pony, which is precisely what you don't want from a referee, and Oliver has to be one of the most inconsistent refs between matches that I've ever seen. His game management is terrible, sometimes letting players get away with absolutely everything, and other times (like today) blowing for a foul every time someone wobbles a bit. He's almost on Mike Dean levels for dramatic gestures and facial expressions, which usually are being made as he decides to only book someone, not award a penalty, or give someone a ticking off.

None of this is to say that he cost United today, because aside from possibly being a bit quick on the whistle for "fouls" on Liverpool players, he was equally shite for both sides.

The standard for refereeing is currently at an all time low, as far as I'm concerned. The fact that Clattenburg is hailed as the country's best ref, often one of the world's best says it all. The Respect campaign was important, but there appears to be almost zero accountability for referees these days, and as such, it appears a few are doing their best to get their names in the headlines rather than officiating football matches properly.

A bit like Wenger and Arsenal fans then. Moan moan moan. Arsenal fans are the worst by far at that.

Modern fans are mostly twats.

Absolutely cannot stand him. Shit referee, zero bottle and favours the scousers.

I tend not to like most Arsenal fans so I agree to an extent. We're definitely not the worst, though. That would be Everton, followed by United.

Oliver was not bad. Pog's was a handball and a peno. Herrera and Firmino yellows seemed fair too. Did not notice the ref make any crucial wrong call today.

You are easily the worst for me becuase of Wenger. He moans after every loss and the same do the fans. I think it's been like that since he arrived. Maybe it's that Arsenal has won so little the last 12 years that makes the fans so angry at the ref all the time. Everyone against Arsenal.
