Music Michael Jackson is Dead (All general comment)

Michael Jackson hailed the showmanship of Adolf Hitler in a bizarre interview with a Jewish scholar, it has been revealed today.

He even went so far as to describe him as a 'genius'.

The singer went on to say that he wanted to hug the killers of two-year-old Jamie Bulger.

The King of Pop made the revelations in recorded conversations with his close friend Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. He also told the rabbi that he believed he could have got rid of the Nazi leader's evil.

The singer, who died of heart failure in June, said: 'Hitler was a genius orator. To make that many people turn and change and hate, he had to be a showman and he was.'

Asked if he had the ability to make Hitler change, Jackson replied: 'Absolutely. You have to help them, give them therapy, teach them that somewhere, something in their life went wrong.'

The revelations have come to light in more than 30 hours of interviews the late singer recorded with the rabbi.

Jackson, who died aged 50 from a drug-related heart attack, was taped talking to Rabbi Boteach eight years ago for interviews he allegedly knew would be published.

In another conversation he revealed how his first wife Lisa Marie Presley called him an 'idiot' for wanting to visit Robert Thompson and Jon Venables in jail after they murdered two-year-old James Bulger in 1993.

He said he told her: 'How dare you say that? I bet if you trace their life you can find they didn't have parents around, didn't have any love, nobody there to hold them, look in their eyes and say I love you.

'They deserve that, even though they're going to get life. I want to say I love you and hold them.'

Thompson and Venables, who battered James to death before leaving his body on a railway line, were sent to a young offenders' institution indefinitely.

But after a series of controversies over how long they should serve they were freed in 2001 and given new identities.

The interviews with Jacko are in a new book, The Michael Jackson Tapes, which goes on sale in America and online today.

Rabbi Boteach, 42, who was based at Oxford University, made the recordings at the singer's Neverland ranch.

Jackson said he wanted to date Princess Diana, but was too shy to ask her. He said: 'I thought she was very special - very feminine and classy.

'She was my type for sure and I don't like most girls. it takes a very special mould to make me happy and she was one of them.'

The singer also claimed supermodel Cindy Crawford flirted with him and he considered dating his friend Elizabeth Taylor, but feared they would be labelled The Odd Couple.

He was convinced Madonna was in love with him, but thought she was jealous of his success, saying of the Material Girl singer: 'I think she was in love with me and I was not in love with her.'

But he added: 'We had nothing in common. She is not sexy at all.'

Rabbi Boteach said of Jacko: 'He yearned so deeply to do good with his life but was ultimately consumed by indescribable loneliness and pain.'

He also told the rabbi he wanted to date Princess Diana and thought Madonna was in love with him but was jealous of his success.

He was a drug addict tbf, certainly had lost touch of reality

You know like all people Hitler has his pros and his cons, but obviously his cons end up with him in the negative that isn't funny

Also, I honestly don't respect people who commit suicide it's one thing to od but its a whole thing to put a gun to your temple. In the end Hitler was a sick feck genius or not. Tangent aside MJ might have been a sicko as well, but innocent until proven guilty as this is the US where alll the shit went down, that said there is no doubt he is demented

Which is another word for weird, dont get me wrong; musically he has few peers if any

He was different and wanted to make the world a better place in any way he could. If that makes him weird so be it.

Musically there is no-one who comes close to him.

It was probably better than the alternative, which was to wait and be captured.

And yes, there is no doubt Hitler was a genius in many respects. But equally, he could be described as a bit of retard in others.

Well the fact that he lost a war he probably couldve won turns that argument sideways

Better than the alternative, fair enough, but true men take what is coming to them, there is no more cowardly act than suicide in his regard

I suppose it depends on how you want to look at it. Japanese ninjas of old would take their swords and stab themselves to death rather than be captured by the enemy, as a matter of honour. I imagine it was a similar thing for Hitler - he knew his Reich had fallen, so he wanted to fall with it.

We are talking about Hitler, the Samuari did it as an honor and I respect that. Hitler did it to avoid the fact that he had committed genocide v European Jews and the Polish, etc. A sick feck and a coward, imagine if the Soviets or US got a good 5 minutes with him, you couldnt imagine what would have happened, but he would have got what he deserved.

Hitler go feck off.
Tagent over.

MJ RIP

Why do people in the public eye do the whole 'Hitler wasn't all bad' thing. What possesses them?! Do they think they're adding anything new in any regard? I'd recommend against it personally

A new book based on taped interviews with Michael Jackson reveals the star thought he looked like "a lizard" and "didn't want to grow old".

The Michael Jackson Tapes, written by the star's former adviser Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, provides first-hand detail about the reclusive singer's life.

In one conversation, Jackson says: "I don't want to grow old. I never want to look in the mirror and see that."

The star died in June, aged 50. His death is being treated as homicide.

Speaking to US TV show Today on Friday, Mr Boteach said his overwhelming impression of the star had been one of "indescribable pain".

"He lost the will to live," he added. "I think he was just going through the motions of life toward the end."

Mr Boteach recorded 30 hours of interviews with Jackson nine years ago. The tapes reveal the star talking about about his fear of aging, and being hit with an electric cord by his father.

"He was rough," the star says. "The way he would beat you, you know, was hard.

"He would make you strip nude first. He would oil you down. It would be a whole ritual. He would oil you down so when the flip of the ironing cord hit you, you know... it was just like dying."

"I used to get so angry at him," Jackson continues.

"I would just go in my room and just scream out of anger because I didn't understand how a person could be so vicious and mean."

Ken Sunshine, a spokesman for the Jackson family, said after the tapes were broadcast: "We will not dignify this with a comment."

In another conversation released by Mr Boteach, the star can be heard saying: "I don't want to be seen now, because I am like a lizard. It is horrible."

"I would like some way to disappear where people don't see me any more at some point."

'Higher cause'

Mr Boteach is an orthodox Jewish rabbi who has written self-help books with names like Shalom in the Home and Kosher Sex.

The latter book, which encouraged Jews to have more sex, was publicly criticised and the rabbi was forced to resign from the synagogue where he preached in Willesden, north London.

He was introduced to Jackson in 1999 by entertainer Uri Geller and acted as his confidant for many years, helping to establish the star's Heal The Kids initiative.

Their conversations were taped with an eye to giving the public a more accurate image of the pop star.

Mr Boteach said he became disillusioned with the book - originally set for release in 2003 - after Jackson failed to adhere to recovery programmes they had worked out for his public image and private self.

On the Today programme, he insisted that Jackson would still have wanted the tapes to be released.

"He did all this because he wanted to consecrate his fame to a higher cause, and that was cause was 'parents prioritise your kids. Don't neglect them, because look what it did to me.'"

The bolded bit in particular struck me.

Might do if i find one on the cheap sometime down the line (unlikely).

£109 at the moment, doubles in price at the end of September. Think it's a bargain myself, glad I bought it before I lost my job.

I'm a fan but i'm not really fanatical. I've got all his albums and I've also got a MJ boxset. Which i've had for years. I had an 02 ticket aswell.

Yeah I've got all his albums too. Do you still have the 02 ticket or did you get a refund? Tried desperately to get a ticket but to no avail.

Hmmm Elvis Presley ???

I was never a fan of Elvis.

At those so called Theatrics he was Weaste...ground breaking and trailblazing in fact. However as a musician, yes there are clearly hundreds more superior

At the moment i'm low on cash so i won't get it. It's not really that high up on my list of things. Now if it was a new album and the only way i could hear it was to fork out the dosh then i'd definately part with the money.

Refund. The tickets aren't really that rare & i'm not overly sentimental so i'll be getting a refund. I have no use for a flashy bit of card worth £70 :D

I was looking forward to the gig so much though, i've been seeing bands since i can remember (first gig i saw was the Specials when i was 3), and i've pretty much seen all of the main acts i want to see (that i can/could see) and MJ was the one i genuinely thought could blow them all away. It was surreal when i found out he'd died, i was in insomniac mode & for some reason decided to turn the news on (i can't remember ever settling down to watch the news or what possessed me to turn the news on at that time) and i saw the first breaking report live. My first thought was it had to be a joke & then when i realised it was real i felt so pissed off (sounds horrible) as i will never get to see that gig i was so close to seeing.
