Shut up Lance.
Make me.
Shut up Lance.
You deserve a trophy for sitting through those cut scenes.
Are the finally putting trophy support on MGS4 or haven't they bothered.
It is so tedious. I read reviews and honestly thought they were exaggerating. But amazingly it was far, far worse than what was reporting.
You barely need your control pad for 3/4 of the entire game. And most of the action happens in the cut scenes too
.
You're a cnut!
I played the NES games. I only played MGS on the PlayStation.
I amDamn I need to play through this game again
Keep up the good fight Elvis.
MGS4 = a bit shit really.
A long way short of the best game on the PS3, don't own any other consoles but I would say I've enjoyed Tiger Woods golf on a mate's Wii at least ten times as much as sitting through all the tedious, convoluted cut-scenes in MGS4.
At the end of the day, the budget behind these games is almost on a par with Hollywood blockbusters. In a game as cut-scene heavy as this, you should expect the narrative and dialogue to be gripping, exciting and have you on the edge of your seat. Instead, I end up wondering what I'm going to have for dinner and if they will ever just shut the feck up and get on with actually providing some sort of entertainment or meaningful plot progression.
I don't buy the "you had to see the prequels" crap either. Every decent movie franchise features episodes that are very watchable on their own. Even shite franchises (like the latter episodes of the Matrix trilogy) are miles more entertaining than MGS4 cut-scenes.
Best game on the PS3? I would go for Drake's Fortune. More playable, better plot, better script, better voice-acting, more of a genuinely immersive experience and basically a lot more fun. Which is kind of the point of gaming, really.
Kojima Productions hiring for 'the next Metal Gear Solid'
"Big Boss wants you! The next MGS," reads job advertisement on Konami's site
Kojima Productions is staffing up for the next game in the Metal Gear Solid series.
"Big Boss wants you! The next MGS," reads a post on Konami's site advertising a number of jobs, and presumably referring to Metal Gear Solid 5.
Last year, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima said Kojima Productions would "probably have to make" Metal Gear Solid 5 "at some point".
The firm will be at GDC next month on the lookout for engineers, artists, and game creators including:
- Project engineers for the latest Metal Gear Solid targeted for high-end consoles and PC
- Engineers to help develop next-gen game engine technology for use with the "FOX Engine.
- Kojima Productions Brand Manager
Why is MGS1 not a part of this HD collection?
Because it's a PS1 game and would have to be done totally from scratch.

How about porting the gamecube one? Twin Snakes? Would it be really that hard? I understand that there might be some legal obstacles due to it being made for the Nintendo but surely if they wanted to they could get around this?
Weaste is right. Though it can be emulated and touched up, it wouldn't fit.
Am I forgiven now Weaste?
I want to feck off and do something differe... actually I don't, I just want to play MGS4 ( I'm as gay for this series as elvis). Wish they'd release it for Xbox.
What's this trick that they've pulled with now quite a lot of PS2 games appearing on the Store? Are they just ISO dumps from the PS2 discs, or have they been fiddled with? Because the PS3s without either the EE or GS still can't play PS2 games off disc, but they can play certain games available on the PS Store? Games that suit the software emulator?
I prefer Splinter Cell, well the earlier ones anyway.
It's horses for courses though, you should try them. I think the best way to describe the difference is SC has it's roots on the PC thus is more serious, more plausible. MGS are more suited to console (obviously), more arcadey to a degree. Both are decent series though, although mgs4 to me was a joke and the last two Splinter Cells are dumbed down heavily for the fps crowd.
Do you actually 'play' MGS 4?
I thought it was more like a dvd, you know, you watch it till the end of the chapter then press a few buttons and hey presto! Another chapter plays...
That's like buying an action movie and fast forwarding to all the fight scenes and then complaining that it's only 15 mins long. This is what I did. I skipped the cut scenes and the game was about 2 hours long.
I have never felt so short changed buying a game as this.
