Pay him what he wants. Absolute class act and murdered spurs today.
Will be a big mistake if we miss out on Ozil.
I think the major sticking point for us is that it would signal the end for Miki. A player signed by Jose and also a player he has strongly (and perhaps stubbornly) backed this season. I wonder whether he could be that ruthless with himself. I would essentially be an admittance that a player he purchased has somewhat failed.

Not necessarily, as Miki and Ozil are different types of players, even if they play in the same position. In our squad, Mata is the most similar to Ozil and he'd be surely the player leaving if Ozil comes in.I think the major sticking point for us is that it would signal the end for Miki. Again that's not necessarily true. Miki can play anywhere behind the striker (LW, CAM or RW) and for Armenia he even plays in midfield, so he's versatile enough to get game time. Bringing in Ozil would be very good for squad depth, as he would provide the option of a technically better CAM with superior playmaking ability (better than Mata at it), while Miki can play when we need more pace and dribbling through midfield.Either way if Ozil starts then Miki doesnt. And at the moment Miki is behind Mata because he has been atrocious recently.

I think the major sticking point is paying €20m for someone with 6 months left on his contract. That's insane business.
Would you pay €20m to have Ozil for 6 months. Why? Sign him for €20m at 29 years of age. Worse case scenario we'll make money on selling him if it doesn't work out in a 1.5 years time.
Ozil is easily a £40-45m player. I'm sure asking for £20m at age 30-31 with current inflation will be easy.

We simply won't pay that kind of money for him when he's free in 6 months. We are a business and I'm afraid, businessess don't work like that.
We can construction whatever argument we want, I can't see us paying that for a player with six months left.Nonsense.
Sometimes a business will throw money at something for the immediate impact. Other times it will string along a debt.
A business will do whatever it thinks is best for it's profitability and strangley enough for Manchester United being good at football is a bit of a must...
We are a business and a football club. Pay 20m and a have a top class player with PL experience and someone you can immediately add to your CL squad for this season, I forgot to mention... he always has lots of CL experience and is a World Cup winner.Would you pay €20m to have Ozil for 6 months.

The question isn't would you pay to have Ozil for 6 more months, but would you pay for him in January so that you're sure you will have him in the summer onwards, nothing says that he'll choose us when he's free next summer.
So that's another point to take into consideration.
Yeah, this. We can’t rely on Ozil to choose us in the summer when he’s free. He could go anywhere. The question isn't would you pay to have Ozil for 6 more months, but would you pay for him in January so that you're sure you will have him in the summer onwards, nothing says that he'll choose us when he's free next summer.

Please, no.
We have enough luxury passers. Why do we need another?
You are fecking crazy if you do not want him here
If Ozil hasn't signed yet, I'm pretty sure come January (if not already) he knows where he'll be next summer. United and other clubs won't wait to contact him until JuneYeah, this. We can’t rely on Ozil to choose us in the summer when he’s free. He could go anywhere.
