Ozil "sensationally" claims it would be a dream to play for United or Chelsea.

You can always count on the Daily Star to stir up a good load of crap every sunday! I am pretty sure that they were the ones that came up with the story that Ronaldo would resign for us a few months back and then about 2 weeks ag they said Benzema was the final piece of Fergies master plan even though we already bouth Chicarito!

This will be all wrapped up tomorrow I reckon. £18,000,000.

it's about time that someone else claims that he saw him lurking around OT. But please be a little bit more creative and avoid the usual car and airport stories....

Considering our squad balance, Ozil's a player worth paying slightly over the odds - be it wages or transfer fee - just to make sure he doesn't go anywhere else. 12m sounds like an absolute bargain.

Based on the current reported Valuations. A failure to make a Bid for Ozil would have nothing to do with our alleged lack of finances. It would mean that the manager does not believe he is as good as he seemed during the world cup or that he does not fit in to his plans

Forgive me for making a serious post in this thread, but I think players of Ozil's quality-price aren't available every day, and thus we should sign him regardless of whether we need him or not.

Remember the blog which said Ozil WILL join Utd? Well 'admin' has posted again and stands by what he said. Apparently we'll lodge a bid after the Ireland game, and his source is 'VERY well placed' and not a relative of Ozil's.

Personal message regarding Mesut Özil story | Busbyway - Manchester United fansite

so if ozil comes to OT, busbyway will tell us 'we told you so' and if he does not, people say they were wrong like the rest of the media that deals with transfer speculation...

In the meantime they re getting a bit of exposure...

Yes

With his age, and potential for further improvement he is likely to be a great asset on the pitch or make the club a lot of money in the future.

Well he thought he was good enough to make a bid a 2years ago.

Yes, but this guy is adamant Ozil will come. The fact he responded to his original post suggests he's either a WUM with nothing better to do but post crap or he genuinely knows something (which I doubt). I guess we'll find out as the 'source' reckons a bid is 'likely' after the Ireland game.

Not to be too optimistic, but surely he'd be more likely to come to us than Chelsea. He's far more likely to go into our team either behind Rooney or on the left. I couldn't see Chelsea putting him in ahead of Lampard or Malouda based on the seasons they had last year.

I would cream myself if this deal actually happened.

Neither Lampard nor Malouda are the youngest anymore, so this transfer would make perfect sense for Chelsea imo.
But who knows whether they are interested at all... I just hope we are.

It would, but he's not likely to be ahead of either in the next 2 seasons, and Lampard has an insane natural fitness, he's likely to be on his A game til he's at least 33/34. Therefore, it makes sense for Chelsea long term, but not Ozil short-term.

Well I'm sure he would get his games too, but I agree with you that if eh joined us he would probably get many more.

considering i m very skeptical about this transfer, i still have to admit that amongst all the players linked to us, this one makes most sense.
The player is still young and tactically would fit in very well. Financially speaking it makes a lot pf sense too, both because the price seems relativley low and because of marketing potential.
The marketing ppl need a big-name transfer and Ozil would be perfect (considering the number of ppl who are having multiple orgasms whenever he is linked to us..)

the major obstacles i see is the player's preference and whether fergie prefers not to sign more players in order to give the youth a chance.

He may also rate Gibson as better then Ozil or it could be the case that he still think that Hargreaves may return in few weeks time.

On a serious note if SAF doesn't rate Ozil then I respect that. Stating that our central midfield does need strengthening. We can get away with it in other areas but we simply can't close an eye to central midfield.

For the first time during this saga i can actually see the transfer happening. Unfortunately this now means it won't.

Agree. We desperately need another central midfielder before thi season begins. If we go for Ozil, Carrick would have another chance to prove himself this season and Anderson, after he recovers to show what he's made of.

But starting the season with fecked up Ando/Hargo, Carrick whose form is suspicious and Scholes who can't play every week, leaves us only with Fletcher as a guaranteed first teamer.

IF he is coming why are we waiting until after the ireland match to lodge a bid? Does it not make more sense to get him BEFORE the friendlies end so we can see how he plays and get him some experiene with the team?

Anyway this is not happening.

I swear I'll sell off Rooney, Dzeko, Hazard and Balotelli from my FM squad if we sign him

And if we do sign him then I really really Hope cesc goes to Barca or else we'll be listening to "Ozil to Barca" stories for years.

do you really believe some random muppet in a forum called admin?

If we are interested, and if we want him, I'm sure we'll choose the appropriate time. We snapped up Berbatov in the final hour.
