We have a 42 page thread on a player who there is sod all evidence we're interested in
What does that have to do with David Gill, you big gay bastard?
Ekeke I rate your knowledge in football. And I haven't read the thread. Would you want Ozil at United?
My personal take on Ozil, having watched him in the WC and for Germany's U-21s is that he's one of those rare and special talents that is worth signing without worrying about how he fits in the system/team.
Mind you, I thought the same thing about Anderson and that hasn't worked out too great.

Mainly because you are a bit too impatient for your own good.My personal take on Ozil, having watched him in the WC and for Germany's U-21s is that he's one of those rare and special talents that is worth signing without worrying about how he fits in the system/team.

One of the main problems is we still don't know what we have. His best position is unclear (if anything he looks at his best as a midfield harrier rather than a creative force) and he's struggled when playing in a two man midfield at times.
The flashes of potential are there for all to see, but at the moment we're arguably weakest in midfield, so there's slightly more pressure for him to show consistency quickly.
Anyone else fed up of seeing that picture of ribery every time you go into this thread?
Very true. We've been rather unlucky with Anderson though, considering he broke his foot before we signed him, and whenever he's looked like he's about to break through and cement a place he always seems to go and get injured.
Ozil and Anderson together in 3-4 years could be rather good.

Schalke offered Özil a contract extension, but he asked for higher wages. They fell out and he moved to Bremen.Does anyone know why he left Schalke, by the way? Fell out with the manager, any worrying attitude problems?
Sorry I've not really followed this thread.
For now. Anderson is on the brink of exploding and fufilling his potential. When he does it will shock many while making people like you and me who have had high expectations for him feel very chuffed.Nah, as I keep saying, I think Anderson will come good.
What I didn't expect was that he would still be on the fringes of the first team at the age he is now, or that there could ever be even the faintest doubt he would be United quality.
Of course, that's more to do with the high expecations I had for him, more than anything else.
As for Ozil, he looks to be a much more intelligent and complete player than Anderson, despite being younger.

Re Anderson - he has now had 2 nasty injuries now. The cruciate ligament injury while playing for us and the broken ankle for Porto. It was said that injury caused him to loose the explosive pace he had in his Gremio and early Porto days.
Will he ever be that player again?
We hope he will. I hope he hasn't been ruined the way Del Piero was. For example few still remember Del Piero was almost the equal of a young fat Ronaldo pre injuries.Re Anderson - he has now had 2 nasty injuries now. True. But he could be even far better, the way both Del Piero and Ronaldo were handicapped by the injuries. If he turns out as good as Del Piero I'd be delighted.
What are you on about?
Del Piero was, physically, always a different beast to Ronaldo regardless of injuries. Both great players buy don't suggest he'd have been similar to Ronaldo without the injuries...
Anderson might be a promising player but to say he "could he even far better" than Del Piero is pushing it...
Hope so. He's looked lightening quick at times for United.
When he's on top of his game he's almost unplayable. It's just that we've only seen him at his very best so rarely.
Pure speculation but I think his biggest problem is his conditioning. When he was at Gremio/Porto he was at an age where natural fitness is enough. Since he's got older and had to start really working on his conditioning he's struggled with lasting the pace and often looks to be carrying too much timber.
Anderson can potentially be the answer to our prayers. True, his decision making may be rash at times but he has that creative mindset that our squad needs. He has an eye for the killer pass and can penetrate the opponent's midfield when he's playing well.
He does have an eye for a killer pass. But he needs to be more Scholes than Veron and do a good job making sure we keep hold of the ball. Not just look for the hollywood pass each time he receives a pass.
Apparetly his odds for him to move to United have been slashed to evens.

And the shit diet he is probably eating in Manchester
Maybe. Although Brazilian footballers seem to have a habit of turning into lard-arses, no matter where they ply their trade.
I am not a betting man. This means?
SharkyMcShark said:It's in no way a serious betting market - there's a very low cap (relatively) on the amount you can actually bet on a player being signed by any given club.
It's mostly done to get a bit of publicity. The tabloids initially link us (or any club) to a player, then betfair and the like set up odds on it. They then get publicity through the papers throwing BETFAIR HAS SLASHED THE ODDS ON OZIL JOINING UNITED TO 3/1 OMG! into one of the transfer columns or articles.
Then papers get to appear as if they're putting something of substance into their (usually bollocks) transfer stories.
It's a neat arrangement that anyone seriously looking at whether we'll sign someone shouldn't buy into.
