I don't understand how everyone has it set in their mind that Chelsea have loads to spend? When did that happen? Last I checked they have been making cheap/value signings ever since Roman Abramovich told Chelsea that they should be self sufficient.. They signed Zirkhov for around the same amount of money we signed Valencia for.. They are getting rid of Cole, Ballack, Baletti, Deco etc to make space for whom? Benayoun? Are you fecking kidding me? Chelsea are as Financially tight as we are..

P.S I think we can easily afford Ozil and IF SAF is interested we should be the ones snapping him up unless Barca or Madrid have something to say about it.. And since we have more or less come to the conclusion that almost all of the other clubs can either not accommodate or afford him I would be very bullish on this transfer going through.. Once again that is if SAF is interested..

Also I don't know why but there is still something very iffy about Ozil.. I can't quite put my finger on it though..

Those were the rumours around MArch or so, that Roman was presparing a summer war-chest of 150m or so. Could well be bogus. Then again, he desperately wants the CL, so who knows?

Letting 3 of his roster go to trim the wage bill and clear up squad space for new talent suggests the rumours were true. We'll have to wait and see of course.

Ozil>Pastore>hamsik.

Liked the look of Pastore yesterday! Seems to be a great dribbler for someone his size.

Pastore should be first. Ozil hasn't done as much for his club as the other 2 either.

Yeah actually that's what I fear about Ozil. Like most Germans, he too might be brilliant for country and go down a level for club because I've watched Bremen several times in the Uefa Cup and I was never too impressed with him

Pastore looks really good and well built too so should not have a problem with the physicality of the PL were anyone to sign him

Doesn't want to come here though. Wants Spain.

Pastore hasn't looked even close to as good as Ozil.

Hope Spain knock them out anyway. Speed this up a bit. I'm certain Fergie regardless of whats being said will want to try with him. Weder don't have a full set of bargaining chips due to his 1-year left.

Big bad Barca are also interested.

If Barca or Real want him, it's only to make sure he doesn't go and strengthen someone else. Chelsea are probably courting Aguero.

Feasibly if City find out we want him, the moment we make an offer they'll probably double it. Because they are twats.

He's the one player that would nicely slot into our midfield regardless of formation. We maybe good to go now, but Scholes and Giggs can't go on forever. Can't see them beyond one more year. Cleverley may be able to step it up but this guy imo is bordering world class already.

Looks like Ronny's a father to a baby boy.

This world cup, no. Second half of last season and the full season before he was brilliant for his club sides.

I've watched Palermo around 3-4 full games this season and a fair bit of highlights as well. I don't think he's ready for us yet, and we don't need another project.

Ozil on the other hand is the focal point of probably the best national side in the world and could definitely be our creative lynchpin too. I think he's just an all around better player.

Hamsik could fit in straight away as well. Ronnys son, Jose for the name.

Hamsik didn't impress at all this world cup.

Don't care about the world cup, Hamsik plays for Slovakia. He's never been able to reproduce his club form for the national side. Ozil plays in a far superior side. Don't gt me wrong I would like either in the team.

Then again I'd also be happy if we got Defour.

The World Cup's definitely not everything but what it does show I guess is an idea of how a player handles pressure and rises to the big occassion, which in the case of Hamsik, Gourcuff and Pastore has been not very well.

Generally I like to judge players on how they fair when it really matters, which is why we talk about Ronaldo and Zidane and not Vieri and Totti. Definitely it's a good indicator of how they'd do for Man Utd given every game here is high pressure, we don't want another Berbatov who can't hack it with the big boys.

No one's talking about him anymore because he was total bollocks, but we might be able to get a bit of a deal on Gourcuff this summer.

I still reckon he'll end up at Arsenal.

Our midfield is crying out for youth, energy and creativity to give hope for some decent prosperity. Hamsik from what I've seen (granted very little) doesn't provide this and can't compare to Mesut Ozil.

I said before the world cup don't expect much from him, trust me the lad can do all that.
