I don't understand how everyone has it set in their mind that Chelsea have loads to spend? When did that happen? Last I checked they have been making cheap/value signings ever since Roman Abramovich told Chelsea that they should be self sufficient.. They signed Zirkhov for around the same amount of money we signed Valencia for.. They are getting rid of Cole, Ballack, Baletti, Deco etc to make space for whom? Benayoun? Are you fecking kidding me? Chelsea are as Financially tight as we are..

My sentiments exactly!

P.S I think we can easily afford Ozil and IF SAF is interested we should be the ones snapping him up unless Barca or Madrid have something to say about it.. And since we have more or less come to the conclusion that almost all of the other clubs can either not accommodate or afford him I would be very bullish on this transfer going through.. Once again that is if SAF is interested..

Also I don't know why but there is still something very iffy about Ozil.. I can't quite put my finger on it though..

his finishing?? thats his biggest weakness IMO!

Its not a massive weakness, just he's been abit lazy and careless with it.

Against Australia he chipped the keeper but it got cleared off the line and he's been careless in 1 v 1's... I'm sure he'll develop into an excellent finisher and not a midfield answer to Heskey.

Schweinsteiger out-shone him in midfield today, but he was still world class.

Oezil put on a world class performance today? Come on, let's stop sucking his cock for every little thing.

He seems a determined individual, they were 3-0 up at the time and he started the break of from inside his own half and ran 60 yards to put the ball on a plate for klose to make it 4-0, the pass was exquisite.

Can anyone confirm how good Ozil was for Bremen? I don't trust these Germans. They all go crazy at International level despite most of them being average at club level.

Now I'm sure Ozil is special but just how good has he been for Bremen?

Really nice ball for the fourth goal and he was still very useful in possession but definitely not his best game. Khedira and Schweinsteiger were the stand outs.

Disappeared today but, with this type of player it is expected - young and still maturing. Hopefully turns up for the semis.

I don't suck cock :nervous: But he was fantastic in every counter attack Germany had today, always looking to attack the defence and very rarely loses the ball. Great performance by every single German player today in fairness.

Exactly. He was allrigth today. Pass at the end was great but otherwise he was allright. Was outmuscled at many times.

Bastian was brilliant. Guy would be a good replacement for Scholes if we ever needed one.

He missed yesterday's training session with fatigue so its no surprise he didnt look fresh today and had to catch his wind several times near the end of the match. Thought they'd take him off to be honest, particularly as he's on a yellow. But still provided a few moments of quality to help Germany thrash Argentina. The stood up cross for the last goal was absolutely perfect.

Quieter today but sill made some incisive passes including the beautifully weighted cross for Klose' second.

Germany wizard Ozil eyes United
Germany wizard Ozil eyes United - Manchester Evening News

German World Cup wizard Mesut Ozil reckons he would be just the trick for Manchester United.

Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson watched the Werder Bremen ace (below) in the Bundesliga last year – even before the midfield man’s form in South Africa upped his profile.

The 21-year-old Ozil has shot to higher prominence with his influence on Joachim Loew’s young team.

And the playmaker, of Turkish descent, is now keen to chase trophies in England.

“The World Cup is all that matters at the moment. When I get back we can think about my future, but for now it’s not something I want to give a lot of thought to,” he said.

“To the top players the Premier League is attractive. You look at what United and Chelsea have achieved over the last five years and you see it would be easy to be successful at two clubs like that. I see what Michael Ballack achieved at Chelsea and the quality of players he played with and the temptation becomes obvious.

“Trophies are what matters to me. There are two teams in England always at the top and of course that’s attractive.

“But the same is true for La Liga. They’re the strongest leagues in the world.”

Werder Bremen are reluctant sellers, but admit that a bid of around £25m would be too tempting to turn down. Ozil would certainly tick the boxes for Fergie as an engine-room influence in the Paul Scholes mould.

Scholes has been handed a new 12-month contract but has suggested the new season is likely to be his swansong as a player and the German would fit the bill as one of a new young generation.

------------------------

Hmm, interesting. Seems to indicate he may be looking to move after the WC, and we're one of the four clubs he'd like to go to.

He's been trying to move for a while and hasn't signed a new contract, but I think this has vaulted him out of Bremen for sure.

He was poor his the previous standard of his previous matches. He made a great assist for the 4th goal but other than that he was a bit shy and physically abused by Mascherano.

I wouldn't be so sure about him going to Chelsea. I think they're more interested in signing Aguero and will look at Ozil as a back-up. In fact, I can only think of ourselves and perhaps Bayern who would consider Ozil a 'priority' signing

But not going to happen after Fergie's latest comments on 'value'

He was marked out of the game, it's why Swheinsteiger (whatever his name is) got so much freedom.

What I like about Ozil and something our thick ass players can learn is that a few times Ozil broke or was near the touchline and when he thought a decent pass was not on he brought the play back 10-15 yards to restart the attack and hold possession. Our numskull players would have tried to force a pass as they have the mentality that the attack shall only move forward lost possession and then ran back like idiots only to charge backup wasting loads of energy for little effect.

Yes, you've a point. If, and If Ozil lines up in the middle for United, the opponent has to mark him, Fletcher, Nani & Valencia. Oh wait, what about your Hamsik? :p

Some players can visualise or have the 3-D image of the surrounding at a call. Can it be trained or inherited?

My preffered choice. The candle still burns.

That is having a picture on our head of how the game is playing out and where there exists an opportunity to create space.

That is harder to train into someone but in regards to my point is that we too many of our players (England) feel the need to force the game and force the pass when its not on. We were only a goal down but we played as if we had only 5 minutes to score in the second half by the way we left ourselves so open at the back.

We need a sea change in mentality.

Those technical directors at the England F.A. should have or already have identified those points a long time ago. Where is the change? A year or two ago, I highlighted the need to change the way the game was introduced and played in U.K.

The FA are morons run by narrow minded suits they only understand how to raise money and waste it.

There is not enough quality coaching. The guardian had an article on the number of qualified coaches Spain outnumberd us 50-1 - it was something ridiculous.

Anyone listen to that BBC radio % boradcast post the German match it was very good - it talked a great deal about how badly kids are coached in the UK and how expensive the coaching badges are (this relates to my first point how the FA will just rape fans for as much as they can)

What we need is intelligent football men in charge - that does not mean footballers most like Shearer are thick as feck.

nothing from Fergie at all - all Ozil has said is that he wouldn't mind a shot at the PL for United or Chelsea or going to Spain.

50-1? Goodness. Agree. Too much bureaucrats and money politics.
