Khedira left for Madrid with a year left on his contract, like Ozil, for almost double the ammount quoted.

If that are the reliable sources - it's complete bollocks.

How? Maybe Ozil was always holding out for a move to Barcelona or some such? Ozil doesn't and didn't need to be in a rush to move, he's had plenty of time to see how it pans out.
 
Again people need to realise that we may never have bid fo him or been interested in getting him though. Still I think this stories got more legs to it yet.

no wonder United would not be in for him if that is the case.

150k a week on far less tax than in England, United couldn't hope to compete with those wages. He would be getting paid a good chunk more than our top earners and at the age of just 21 too....

Most likely we did and he just went for the better money elsewhere.. his loss, if he can't see how working under Fergie and actually getting a regular run in the side would be beneficial for his long term development.

You don't know what the lad wonts untill you talk to him do you? Maybe thats what Barca was willing to give him. Do you want him to say no.

Strange thing is though there was reports yesterday that he had turned down Barca and Madrid on personal terms as they wanted him to be second fiddle to Kaka and Iniesta thats why the prem seemed the liely destination.

yeah right, Barca would give 150k for Ozil, make him the 3rd highest earner in the club when he's worth 8m pounds. It's getting more and more ridiculous.

And maybe United have been talking to him (Don't have to agree a fee with Bremen before we can talk to him, don't even need their permission).

I doubt Barca sat at the table and simply said - 150k per week, that is our opening and final offer, take it or leave it.

I'm sure that they won't be paying that, certainly not under Rosel! He's been talking about downsizing and getting wages under control. That's media rubbish Sultan. That wage would put him comfortably in the top 5 earners at Barca, not going to happen!
