What sort of story is this?
Failing in Juve in the CL losing out to teams like Lyon, Ajax, 10-man Porto, and finally losing Serie-A after 10 years of dominance..
Escaping from Juve without even looking back before the contract end, yeah so much story)) what happened to his winning mentality? why did he leave before his contract ended? At the end of the day, he loves challenges, right? Funny thing is nobody in Turing cares that he left, if anything, it seems they are happy to be now free of huge salary burden..
Getting eliminated by USA in WC 2014 when Messi was playing the final and Uruguay in 2018.
"O" player of the tournament award in an international tournament vs Messi's 3 including a World Cup (and 2 in Copa which is a record), so much greatness difference))
"1" La Liga best player award vs Messi's 6 in 9 years in La Liga when La Liga was the strongest league, again so much greatness..
"2" La Liga titles vs Messi's 6 in 9 years, 2 Copa Del Rey vs Messi's 7 in 9 years..
The guy is a pure goal scorer, yet he has less golden boot awards than Messi (6 vs 4) and Pichici (6-3) who is one of the top 3-4 playmakers ever even without goals..
Mate, you're having a mare. Take a chill pill and step outside. Comparing Ronaldo to Ruud and Muller. Jesus, what are you, 12? Did you watch Ronaldo play for the past 15 years? His current version is similar, but that's down to the fact the he is 36 years old and he lost a yard of pace. Prime Ronnie was a different beast.
And since you graciously bring up Ronaldo's international failures, why don't we talk about Messi's?
Knocked out in 2010 by a 10 man Inter team. Knocked out again in 2012 by a very uninspiring 10 man Chelsea team who didn't even finish in the Top4 that year. Knocked out again by fecking Roma after being 4-1 on aggregate in the first leg. Rinse and repeat the same fate literally next year. And how can we forget about good old Bayern, not only did they hammer Barca 7-0 in 2013 with a peak Messi in their side, they did a dirty one on them just a year ago. Remember that 8-2? Say what you will about Ronaldo, but I don't remember any capitulations of this magnitude in his career. And yes, all of the are capitulations since all of them happened from winning positions.
Also, why don't you bring up the fact that Messi literally played with the GOAT midfield of all time. The Busquets-Xavi-Iniesta triumvirate. Yes it is important since at their peak they won every international tournament from 2008-2012. Messi has yet to win a CL without them. In before Casemiro-Modric-Kroos. Ask any fan if he were to pick on the 2, which one would go for. 9/10 would go for Barca's trio, the other one is RM fan.
With that being said: Is Messi the more talented out of the 2? Yes
Did Messi have higher potential? Yes
What makes Ronaldo GOAT is that despite being matched against a superior player, he gave him a run for his money. It would be the equivalent of a Lada keeping up with a Mercedes. Something that shouldn't even been a contest, is way closer than it should have been. Even the most die hard Messi fan boys will admit this.
Thats what so special about Ronaldo. While Messi did reach 99% of his potential, Ronaldo went all the way to 110%.
