They bought a ticket to Juventus vs Korean all stars or a ticket to Ronaldo vs Korean All Stars?
No they don't. The ticket they bought didn't say Ronaldo vs Random team

The tickets got sold on huge prices with the premise they'd get to see Ronaldo play. Wouldn't have sold anywhere near as many tickets if they hadn't marketed it that way. It's understandable that they feel ripped off imo.

Of course they do. In Korean culture, its all about worshiping celebrity, and there is no bigger football celebrity than Ronaldo, whom they are probably going to meet once in their lifetime.

Korean fandom is massively disappointed by Ronaldo to the point of him being accused of ripping them off and I cannot blame them; Ronaldo was looking so disinterested from the moment he arrived in Korea and he displayed zero appreciation for the fans who had flocked across the country to see him. You don't ignore your fans like that; he might be a super star but it is the fans who make him one.

Of course, Juventus had a very tight schedule and it is understandable Ronaldo might have been perturbed by this, he is a model professional after all. But the same can be said for all Juve players who played a great match around which the hype surrounding it was unfortunately eclipsed by Ronaldo. People were hurt by Ronaldo's attitude and looks like his reputation will be tarnished there.

The crazy thing is if Ronaldo and Messi didn't compete at the same time, they might have had 9 or 10 ballon'Dors in a row each.

You are right, I don’t think there’s one without the other, they both pushed themselves competing against each other.

Although one is clearly the better player, one day even Ronaldo’s hardcore fans will admit. ;)
Perhaps another season of CL capitulation followed by quitting Argentina again and Messi fans will admit who's the better player.

Ronaldo didn't win the Cl last year either.

Ronaldo is dangerous from 40 yards. Messi scores an overwhelming majority of goals in the box. Ronaldo heads, runs and is a more complete player IMO.

1. The model does not account for clutchness.

2. Jesus, why did they go out of their way to criticize Pogba?
Ah they did? I didn't read this article, just found this when looking for someone to post on here in English. The original is in Dutch.

The study. hahaha.

A player that benefits from a tiki-taka type of football will have more value then a player in a direct counter-attack football style

When football fans aren't watching their favourite players live on television or at stadiums across the world, they're admiring their tackles - according to adult streaming site, Pornhub.

The adult website's Insights team have been hard at work finding out who the most searched for soccer players worldwide in 2019 are. Some might surprise you, others might not.

At number 2 is Lionel Messi. He's known for his flair, change of pace cracking solo efforts. He's often been cited as the greatest performers of all time, proving that size really doesn't matter. His unbelievable skill and consistent performance at the highest level does make him one of the all time greats.

Finally at number 1, the top searched for footballer on Pornhub worldwide is self-pricliamed GOAT, Cristiano Ronaldo.

You don't need to go on Pornhub to find shots of the Portuguese striker oiled up in his boxers, just get yourself over to his Instagram page.

So Ronaldo scored 44 goals and got 8 assists in 44 games for Real Madrid that season.

Messi has just scored 51 goals and got 19 assists in 50 games for Barcelona.

7 more goals and 11 more assists in 6 more games.

Ron involved in 1.18 goals a game.
Messi involved in 1.4 goals a game.

Modric won the CL and got to the World Cup final. VVD won the CL.

So Modric had a better season than VVD and Ronaldo was worse that season than Messi last season.

Should Modric of won it over Ronaldo? No. But should Messi have came 5th? No that was a farce. Messi coming 5th was far more ridiculous than Ronaldo not winning it.

Messi has been by far the best player in the world last season. His norm is a lot better than most even at their best, so if someone else plays out of their skin then people say they deserve it. I think that is unfair that Messi gets discredited because of how good he has been for years.

Its like the naughty kid at school being rewarded for being good, but the kid that gets the best grades and is never in trouble doesn’t get anything cos its expected.

At least Van Dijk is the actual best in the world in his position and his impact on Liverpool is beyond obvious rather than Modric spending 2018 being inexplicably the target of propaganda hyping him up while being benched and subbed out of games before they’re decided, being nowhere near the best in his own position and not even one of the 3 best players in his own team. It was one of his worst years in a Madrid shirt and he had come nowhere near winning a Ballon D’Or in his best ones.

Then he wins it because of a World Cup where he had a grand total of 2 games where he wasn’t below average and Real Madrid collapses as soon as Ronaldo leaves.

At least Messi has some actual valid competition rather than competition being manufactured against him.

Messi would deserve the Ballon D’Or this year, but Van Dijk wouldn’t be an unfair winner either. After a below average Copa America and what happened last year, I’d be very surprised if they gave it to Messi even if he deserves it. Unfortunately if you’re Ronaldo or Messi you apparently need a perfect year to win it from now on.

You also missed Ronaldos 4 WC goals (including a hat-trick against Spain) to Messi’s 1 Copa America goal in that tweet.

Trying to make people change their opinion on Cristiano or Messi, is like trying to convince people to change their political leaning. Almost impossible, it is no more about right or wrong, now it is all about my opinion is correct.
Unless if you do a Cambridge analytica on them.

Got some bad news. There's been a scientific study now. The topic can be closed. Messi wins.

https://tribuna.com/en/fcbarcelona/news/3444726/

Sweden's biggest newspaper wrote an online article about that study which also included a poll over who was the better player. A little over 28k people have voted so far and Messi has 69% of the votes. I'm well aware though that polls don't mean anything, because Nazi Germany, but I just thought I'd mention it anyway.

Need to get it up to 50k votes to match the number of people who proudly sung Messi’s name back in 2013 during the World Cup playoffs

2 good games vs 1 bad game shouldn’t be the deciding factor.

Messi numbers were out of this world at club level last season.

Just for context, bearing in mind this isn’t peak Messi, Ronaldo has only ever beaten Messi’s combined goal and assist level from last season twice in his entire career.

If Messi doesn’t win it this year then its a farce.

Goals and assists are a product of the team play too, not just an individual measurement for a player. Hence why
Messi doesn’t score or assist as often for Argentina as he does for Barcelona.

Messi deserves to win the Ballon D’Or. Wouldn’t be unfair or a farce at all if Van Dijk won it though. Would be hilarious to see all the outrage about it after what happened last year, that’s for sure.

Juve played Atletico in Stockholm the other week and the reception Ronaldo got was Beatles-esque.

The fact that most polls show similar numbers is probably also a pretty decent indicator that most Swedes aren’t voting for Messi out of spite because Portugal won a play-off against us 6 years ago.

if Messi doesn't win it, I'd actually give it to Ronaldo before VVD. I always felt he's in discussion purely because they needed to choose another Liverpool player since Salah and Mane don't have numbers to compete with Messi. if either of them had at least 10 goals in CL, most likely we would be talking about them because both were EPL top scorers as well. but with Salah having 5 and Mane only 4 CL goals, they obviously can't compare.

For me Mane was better than VVD for Liverpool last season if we are awarding it to a Liverpool player.

Goals win games thats why attackers mostly win it. No amount of defending is worth the same as creating 70 goals in a season.

Modric won it, seems obvious that those rules don't really stand after last year. That's what I'm saying, I would give it to Ronaldo last year and Messi this year. Now that they gave it to Modric last year they've changed things and I think Van Dijk will take it because of it while Messi would be guaranteed to win it if Ronaldo had won it last year.

Even if he's a defender, Van Dijk's impact on Liverpool is more than evident by the way. They became a top team as soon as he got there.

That is a horrible discrediting of Allison Robertson and TAA. TAA was phenomenal in their most important win of the season when they overturned Barca's lead and has 13 PL assists from fullback position this year.

I didn’t say other players weren’t great too. Just that it was Van Dijk’s arrival that was the big missing piece and instantly took them up a few levels.

His impact is beyond obvious even if he’s a defender. He’s comfortably been the best centreback in the world for over a year now, there aren’t many players in football history you can say that about.

How was VVD the missing piece? They were crying out for a keeper as well and Allison's arrival was a massive change as well. As was getting rid of the likes of Moreno and Clyne while getting TAA and Robertson. They didn't turn things around overnight with the VVD transfer as much as that might be the media narrative.
