Two goals don’t tell the whole story. Anyone who watched the game could tell Barca were on the backfoot completely until Messi singlehandedly shifted the momentum with his first goal.

Just check the match thread. People were shitting on Barca hard for the first 15 minutes. They looked like they were going to lose.

b but interesting to see who Number 2 and 3 will be now that Ronaldo isn't going to be there. Probably Mbape and one of the City/LFC players if they win it?
Is it ? What if Liverpool embarasses them in the semis ? The only thing we know is that Ronaldo won't win the next one for sure.

You’re a Ronaldo fan boy who supports him like his own son and has no impartiality. Same with the Barca fans on here who can’t see anything beyond Messi’s arsehole. It’s almost personal to you and many others in here. Great entertainment

 Okay, now you must have gotten a cramp.

Oh I definitely agree. I've always been of the mindset that Messi is the superior football player, and this has done little to change my mind.

However, Ronaldo was Juve's best player. It's hard to trash him for what his club failed to do this tournament.

Yeah, I know that feeling too well, seeing your best player get blamed for the general level of his team. I'm just happy I won't get to suffer a Leo vs Cris final, was a lose-lose situation for us imo.

Messi was unplayable tonight but our defence is so shit, he must’ve thought it’s run of the mill fodder in La Ligt.

I mean, Matthijs was great tonight and he took out Cristiano's Juventus but don't you think renaming a league after him is a little bit over the top?

The Ballandor is locked in now but interesting to see who Number 2 and 3 will be now that Ronaldo isn't going to be there. Probably Mbape and one of the City/LFC players if they win it?
Not if he goes out in the SF. But I hope he makes the final.

Seriously? It was a nice finish and all, but that goal had more to do with United's dreadful defenders pretending to defend.

He's going to finish the season with 50+ goals, probably 2 trophies and this time Ronaldo (the only one who would ever match his numbers) won't be winning the CL to take it from him. Even if he doesn't win the CL, he's still most likely to finish the CL as top scorer and no one from any of the teams left comes close so I think it's pretty much Messi's to lose now.

I don't see the relation there, were Mbappe/Neymar fanboys saying that PSG are just a very average side?.
Juve have so many points mainly due to Ronaldo, have you seen their record when he doesn't play?

That's probably true. I thought Ronaldo had it in the bag last year.

Perhaps someone can upstage Messi in the Copa America.

So this is why the Ronaldo fanbois are so miserable ?

Yeah but the World Cup also happened last year. I don't see any South American who, even if he wins the Copa, has had a good enough season to take this and I don't think Copa just seems to hold the same prestige as the WC or Euros when it comes to voting.

Sneijder did far more in 2010 than Modric did last year.

And their fanboys are all the same breed. Two parts to the same coin.

Yep. Although there are some differences. Ronaldo's definitely got the narcissist complex going for him to Trump-like levels. Some on here are so devoted to him that they have even downplayed the seriousness of rape and death threats to defend their man.

Messi fanboys can be irritatingly smug - but most of them support Barca which makes it understandable at least.

Personally I'm just pissed with United's utterly inept performance.

I’m not sure what else we could’ve done given current state of the squad. We started well, created few opening but didn’t take them. At the other end our 1st mistake was punished immediately. After that it was basically a precession.

For some reason I see a City v Pool final with loser of the PL winning that :annoyed:

And the 95 points past seaon were mainly due to what, Santa?

Haven’t you heard Juventus are actually a super shit team only kept afloat by Ronaldo? Some say they reached a CL final recently but that didn’t happen.

Same with Real Madrid of course – the perennial underdogs who only Ronaldo could lead to 2 out of 9 league titles.

That’s what regularly happens with Messi and Argentina and Ronaldo fanbois still claim the same over and over

Dybala having a great season and this season looking like he does for Argentina?

Not play Young for starters and try to grind out the game, the tactics, the execution, everything (even De Gea) messed up.

You seriously want to go there? Have you seen Real Madrid this season?

Except it's not true, apparently it was all Higuain's fault back in 2014, never mind the fact his goal got them past Belgium

Today a team with 74 points in 30 games in the Eredivisie has beaten a team with 84 points in 32 games in Serie A, but it's just an average team, Serie A is easier than Eredivisie, and the knockout god can't do more.

I'm not trying to be spiteful with Ronaldo, he's probably done as much as any other player could do in this leg, but boy, his fans suddenly start sounding like what they've been criticizin from us for the last 3 seasons

If Messi had played very well at Roma last year he wouldn't have gotten the criticism he did regardless of the result... the result matters nevertheless though. Juve go through and Ronaldo could have ended up having a better season than Messi, which won't happen now.

Messi has always been our best player in every single tournament. In 2014 he wasn’t fit at all and despite that, we wouldn’t have been able to advance to round of 16 without him

I'm not going to argue with you on that, I don't watch Argentina very often (especially outside the WC).

Messi is a great player and I've said so many times, I just don't get the he's never ever at fault part of his fanbase. It's the numerous managers, it's Higuain, it's all those team mates of his who mostly play for top club teams, etc.

Well obviously the 5th best player in the world is going to win the ballon'dor this time around. Who else is going to contest him now?

Ronaldo did his part, he murdered Atletico and scored both of Juve's goals against Ajax.

They’re in a transitional phase. Real Madrid finished almost 20 points behind Barca in Ronaldo’s last season showing the decline had begun. Then they fluked one last CL and Ronaldo got out at just the right time just like SAF.

They are fewer points behind Barca now than they were in Ronaldo’s last season.

Without Mandzukic, he is their only hope. Juve turned to Madrid where they just try and find Ronaldo without a game plan or acknowledging the rest of the players. Dybala regressed and the rest of their midfielders and wingers are there to support and feed Ronaldo and Mandzukic. To make it short, Ronaldo scores but the rest of the team/players suffer. Which doesnt mean Ronaldo is bad, but it is a problem for Juve going forward. They would win the league without him and Moise Kean and Manzukic leading the line anyway. If Ronaldo isnt always there to save them, no one is able to step up due to Allegri and the players only knowing one way to play to his strengths, rather than using the talent in the team. Ajax were today the exact opposite.

That has more to do with Barca not being as consistent in La Liga as last season, even if they win their last 6 league games, they'd still finish on fewer points than last season.

Real have already lost 9/32 games in La Liga this season, compared to 6/38 last season.

Yeah fair play. A hattrick against Athletico and 2 goals in the quarterfinals. Can't really ask for much more. Him and Messi have set the bar so high, you expect them to perform like peak Maradonna in every single game.

Messi will not win it if Liverpool fecks Barca up in the SF.

Who is else is going to win it? Salah or Aguero? Not impossible, but it clear who is the best player in the world this year.
