It was a very different team that won the Euros 2 years later. In 2014 Ronaldo was injured, Pepe got sent off in the first game (missed the second through suspension) and Fábio Coentrão got injured minutes into the first freaking game
That's 90% of our team gone so the 4 points we got wasn't even that bad. Here are the players that played for us in that WC:
Patricio, Beto, Joao Pereira, Bruno Alves, Pepe, Coentrao, Andre Almeida, Raul Meireles, Moutinho, Ricardo Costa, Miguel Veloso, Nani, Hugo Almeida, Eder, Ronaldo, William, Varela, Helder Postiga, Eduardo, Ruben Amorim, Vieirinha
We had about 6 or 7 players who aren't absolutely terrible and nearly all of them got injured.
Eder was the clutch scorer in an international final. Ron and Messi have never done that.
