Messi in Miami

Is the MLS too easy for him? Every time i see my youtube feeds, there are highlights and clips of him scoring goals for his new team

The answer to that is yes, however, it should be factored in that Messi doesn't get many touches per game with this Inter Miami team because the standard of the side in general is the lowest in the entire MLS. The expectation that Messi should win every game is probably an unrealistic one considering that he is converting what little he gets of the ball into goals each game. Almost every side i've seen Miami play don't have problems transitioning and getting the ball to their forwards; Inter Miami do.

Miami are heavily dependent on Messi scoring or creating with very few touches in the game, and until they improve all over the field it will continue to depend on Messi carrying the side. This is of course the same team that scored 22 goals in 22 games. They have no goals at all without him.

This video does a great job of explaining just how much of an achievement this is for Martino and Messi compared to what it looked like prior, and how just having structure helped poorer players look considerably better.

Cincinnati top of their division by 11 points. Easily best team in the league.
Miami playing awful. Dreadful.

2-0 Cincinnati.

Second half. Messi assist by free-kick.
98th minute with seconds to go? Perfect Messi curved long pass assist to Campania for 2-0.

Extra time now. Couldn't make this up.

Just got his second assist of the night to help make it 2-2 just before the 8th and last added minute

Lovely cross from deep, too. Has been hassled quite successfully by Cincinnati, but is still the reason why Inter Miami are still in this semi final, after being countered to bits in the 2nd half.

The levels between Cincinnati and Miami are so obvious. Miami might have Busquets, Messi and Alba, but Cincinnati have no problems getting it into the final third. Miami just can't do it.

It's the US Open Cup, the American FA Cup if you will, and has been aound like a 100 years. The other was the latest cash-grab by MLS but with Mexico's Liga MX included and I believe just began this year.

There's also the CONCACAF Champions Cup which is the continent's CL copy.

I never thought id be nervous in my life for two Inter Miami penalty shoot outs.

Another final for Messi. Mad stuff.

Bottom vs. Top and 33 points difference.

I mean with Alba, Busquets and Messi surely they are now at least mid table and not the worst team in MLS level that people keeping repeating. But great for Messi to have had such a dream run to start his time there.

Watching Inter Miami is like watching a Barcelona testimonial team full of old, fat, slow players who always manage to win because they're always up against complete garbage.

They'll probably lose that lable when they are no longer bottom of the league. So yeah you're right but factually they are rock bottom atm. If they win another cup they will surely have a bit more gravitas. Of course they already have that with Messi now.

There is something very charming about him going to the worst team in the league and doing this. Would be like signing for Everton is he had gone to England.

found some xG stats, not for Messi but miami since he joined. Average xG of 0.76. They scored a average of 3.14 goals, meaning they outperformed their Xg by 2.38 per match over the course of seven games.

Scoring goals from scraps all the way through.

I mean with those 3 and Tata, they might be the best team in the league.

If they manage to nab 2-3 more players near their level next season and fill out the rest of the roster with adequacy, they might be the MLS side of all-time.

No chance. Cincinnati played them off the park. Philly did too. And also Dallas. We're looking at an over performance based on Messi doing so much with so little.
