MEN say United considering selling Rojo and replacing him with Martins Indi

I really really dislike Rojo. He's not a quality defender. He's a rough, average defender who you could find in any middle team in Spain.

If we're gonna get rid of Rojo - which I'd be fine with, he's never struck me as much more than average - then it should be with a top class CB who can partner Smalling week in week out, not another average one, surely?

It appears that you are, in fact, a fecking idiot.
Jones has zero technical ability. He's made himself a career out of getting stuck in and turning every game into a war. He doesn't have any particular ball control, nor can he pass very well. It's not necessarily a bad thing, everyone has different strengths, but Rojo is a lot more technical than Jones.

You need to calm down buddy because you just took a huge dump on this thread. And the bold part is not true. Although I suppose he did a cool back heel clearance in the World Cup once
Rojo is acceptable on the ball at least. Jones struggles with clearances at times.

I'd much rather we go for Marquinhos

From what I have seen of him he looks a quality player

Both of them have a football brain the size of a pea. At least make stuff up about a player that's an actual upgrade.

When did the Cafe universally decided Rojo was shit?

He was pretty highly rated the back end of last season, then the passport thing happened and now everything thinks he's shite?

I think Rojo is decent. But his United career hasn't really got going and now he's supposedly in the bad books.

Indi is certainly no upgrade.

Indi is dogshit. An absolutely awful player.

Rojo should probably leave in the summer, but no reason to 'upgrade' that position by getting a worse player. It is like selling Jones in order to get Vlaar.

I wouldn't be against the idea of replacing Jones and Rojo with Laporte and Stones.

Indi is a better defender even though temperamentally he needs to improve. Imo at this moment we need to sign Stones and forget about this left footed center back nonsense.

 I still remember when people were trying to convince themselves he was an amazing signing. Some Portugese member wrote an epistle on how good he was and people tried to eat it up "good post", "amazing write-up". Maybe he's too avant-garde for United? :(

If that's aimed at me, it never happened. I just did a review of his performances at Sporting and his improvement in his second year at Sporting under Leonardo Jardim's management. If he was good at Sporting what did you expect me to say? Actually my assessment of him playing wise was quite fair and i warned about his frailties. What i got wrong was thinking that he would become a fan favourite because of his commitment, that he was not injury prone (tbf at Sporting he only got injured twice and just missed few matches) and that Van Gaal would probably turn him into a useful player for United.

Replacing him with Indi would be stupid though since Indi is far worse player who can't even be a starter at Porto. I mean he's behind Marcano in Lopetegui's choices. That alone tells everything. Not to mention his horrible performances for Holland where he was the main culprit for Holland defeat against Iceland. At least Rojo plays reasonably for Argentina.

The only thing i believe in this rumour is Leonardo Jardim wanting him at Mónaco. Jardim always rated Rojo very highly and he was responsible for Rojo's best spell career wise.

I've never said he was shit, it's the MEN that is coming up with this stuff.

I wouldn't oppose this transfer, or even a loan. Martins Indi needs some playing time, and he gets very little here.

I wouldn't label him as awful but if he can't displace Marcano at Porto, who is an average player, and be a starter there, how is he suppose to be good enough for United? And after Porto's investment i doubt they would loan him, unless they negotiate a decent option to buy clause with United.

It would make no sense for Porto to loan/sell him since they are short on options. I don't even know what's Porto fourth choice after him. I think it's Lichinovsky from Porto B or something. Indi will have a chance to prove himself now since Maicon is injured.

Complete nonsense.

Can't wait to see him square up against Costa.

I agree although I think he's better than Jones tbh.
So do I, but I know it's such a controversial opinion on here. I don't really rate Jones at all, though to his credit he's performed quite well in his recent, but brief return.

Didn't know Rojo was written off by so many already and what a terrible piece of journalism.

So van Gaal decided to not sign Martins Indi and go for Rojo, but after seeing Indi's performances on Porto's bench he was convinced and now wants to sign him for way more than he could've gotten him from Feyenoord.. On top of that, is it even confirmed Rojo is in van Gaal's bad books? I'm sure he got a bollocking for his passport issue but as far as I'm aware he's been injured and is behind Blind in the pecking order for now. Rojo has said van Gaal counts on him, which we definately do with Shaw being injured.

It's the way the caf is now, as soon as a bit of negative news comes out in the media about a player they don't rate those with an agenda come out of the woodwork to try and twist the knife. People really want to believe the Manchester Evening News? It's as much credibility as the Metro.

not bothered to see Rojo leave but we should be buying someone to walk into the first team instead of another backup player

Apparently LvG was also mad after the Southampton game when Rojo had to come off as he hadn't informed the staff that he had either a thigh or hamtring problem and made it worse by playing, this goes against LvG's commands that if you are injured you get yourself off the pitch.

Bullshit, Indi is not even a starter for Porto.

Rojo needs to leave, though. He's too inconsistent and is constantly getting injured. We need to bring in a reliable CB and play Blind at LB until Shaw recovers.

If Van Gaal really wants to lose his job, then signing Indi would be the catalyst for that.

If Van Gaal is mad with Rojo, I can understand that. But the thought of replacing him with a purely dogshit player is just asking for trouble.
