MEN say United considering selling Rojo and replacing him with Martins Indi

Rojo has been very injury prone and hasn't looked great. If we replaced him, I wouldn't really care.

If we sell Rojo surely we can do better than replace him with a CB that's as dopey as Martins Indi.

But, but, but... Rojo is latin whereas Jones is English. We should replace the pasty guy who makes weird faces.

Its pure bs. The article makes 3 baseless assumptions: 1. Rojo is out of favour with LVG, yet he is merely injured. 2. United will be out of Europe by January so will be targeting cup tied players 3. Porto would want to sell a key player in mid season. Even this "he played for LVG in the national team he must rate him" attitude is at play. Rojo is going no where.

It's funny how easily people believe this rumour. If this was a news linking us to pique, everyone would dismiss it.

I didn't realise there was such hatred for Rojo on here, don't really feel like he's played enough games to judge his ability accurately.

Injury prone yeah but do we have a defender who isn't. It's a long standing curse.

Never wanted the guy. He reminds me of Silvestre

Why sign Rojo, seriously? LVG needs to be more careful with our money. He treats the place like the bank of funland.
yea I don't like how quick he is to cut players off, why buy them then ?

Di maria, valdes and rojo leaving after a year really is too high a player turnover.

The most worrying thing for me is the price we paid for Rojo. £15mill cash, Nanis wages for a year (£5mill) and no loan fee. Pretty much paid £22mill for a completely useless player. Terrible signing.

Martins Indi is absolutely bloody useless. He's big that is all. Brainless. Wait until the summer and get someone really good.

Martins Indi looked alright during the world cup didn't he?

He's tall enough, quick enough and strong enough. If Van Gaal likes him that much it's because he has the raw materials and the attitude, and Van Gaal thinks he can turn him into a player. He won't cost a fortune and I reckon he's worth a shot.

Yes, please.

Maybe Martin Indis will remember his passport when going on pre-season, only that will be an upgrade.

Hmmm, I think Rojo's pretty good personally, but it appears I'm in the minority. He's no worse than Jones.
:nono: Don't say that around here. You'll be lynched for showing such an "awful" player any kind of support!

By unbiased people. But there's a faction of anti-Brit caftards who want United to turn away from people who were born on these shores.
I'm starting to see a bias against Argentinian players and all, so whatever you say can just be applied to Rojo. I have no bias against either, because I'm not a fecking idiot, and I'd take Rojo over Jones every day of the year. He can play full back fairly decently as well, which is something Jones has proven he cannot do.

Jesus Christ where the feck has the Rojo hate even come from. I'm not saying that he's the best player ever, but he's clearly not as bad as some people are making out. You'd have thought he was Titus Bramble or summat. I mean, what makes him such a terrible signing? He was our second best defender last year, built a decent relationship with Smalling, did ok in two positions. Yeah he's had injury problems, but who hasn't? I've got nothing against Jones but I'll use him as an example. Jones has had just as many injury problems, cost just as much (and then consider fees are going up, the fee we paid for Jones is probably the equivalent of £30m today), but no one shits on him in this way. He has about half of Rojo's technical ability ffs. Someone, somewhere, a god or something, decided that Heinze, Tevez and AdM would be born within the same border - unlucky anyone else born there from now on eh?

Its weird, he was vastly overrated here last season - some even calling him our best CB and everything. Then randomly he turned shite over the summer when no football was played.

I'm guessing its the whole pre-season fiasco and the anti argie sentiment post di maria.

Sell Rojo - yes, he's a liability. But sign someone decent this time - if we want someone who can cover at LB if needed, Vertonghen wouldn't be a bad shout.

Sounds like exactly the same thought process as signing Rojo.

Rojo was 24 when we signed him. Indi is going to be 24 in Feb.

Rojo must be up there as one of our worst recent signings. Not only is he dogshite but we allowed Nani to leave for Sporting on a one year free deal and paid 16m on top of that.

Not sure about Indi though. He looks worse if anything.

I'd take Martins Indi over Rojo any day. At the end of the day you do not miss a massively important US pre-season tour because you forgot that your passport was about to expire...That is unheard of in modern professional football and I don't believe the excuse for a second. At least with Martins Indi he is a specialist center back for the left side...Rojo has looked well shaky in that role last season.....I can't see Porto selling a key player in January though...that's never gonna happen.....but next summer I'd like to see this swap happen

Oh aye, he's look anything but good through Netherlands Euro qualification.

Going by what I've seen online this morning it seems like van Gaal loves Martins Indi, it could be a goer given he's left sided? Rojo has been alright and hasn't done an awful lot wrong on the field.

Someone on the MEN comments section is saying he isn't even first choice at Porto, so why would that make him first choice here?

You mean he is someone who will kiss his arse for him. Don't like the way things are going. Is it Barca all over again but with lower standard players?

He was one of the worse players during qualification and his sending off is one of the main reasons we are likely going to miss the euro's in 2016. At the world cup we played with 5 defenders (5-3-2) but playing with just 4 defenders now isnt working for him. He is so bad and i really dont want him at United

You need to calm down buddy because you just took a huge dump on this thread. And the bold part is not true. Although I suppose he did a cool back heel clearance in the World Cup once

Why he signed him in the first place? It was just signing for the sake of signing
