I can imagine van Gaal telling Depay to spend a lot of time with Shaw as they will be linking up on the left.

I saw his last 4 or 5 games last season once the very first murmurs started on Twitter about him. He was very good in all the games and was the difference. I believe he scored in every match i watched as well lol.
 
I've got a really good feeling about this guy. There's just something about him that reeks character and class. Similar kind of confidence to Ronaldo.

Agreed. He has a swagger and belief that could carry him to be the best. He also seems naturally very fit which will help him in the long run, I think he could become a real star here, and face of the woodacticos

Yeah I think his attitude is first rate. I have no doubts in my mind that he'll fulfill all his potential
 
He has all the quality to thrive in England. Pace and power in abundance. I really do think we've got someone who is going to be a star.
 
I said it before and I will say it again, Memphis looks totally different with us than his previous performance with Netherlands. Good movement and flicks, but I can't see potential world class player with the way he has been playing for us and that is probably down to mismanagement again.
 
I said it before we signed him and watching him so far for us is confirming it, Memphis is very average. Im seriously worried about our attack going into next season.

I have been shocked at high he is rated in here, But that is a bit knee jerk IMO, and I'm one that hates that saying on this forum.

I think he will become a very good player for us, But I don't think he will get to the Cristiano Ronaldo levels that some believe he will.

That should have been done at least once in 4 matches. It's ridiculous that Van Gaal has not tried even once to let him show everyone what he can do down that left wing for his new club.

Depay’s basic wage at Man United is £5.2m from July 2015 until June 2016. Thereafter, until the end of the contract in June 2019, the Dutch star will receive £3.9m in wages each year.

Memphis was also entitled to a bonus payments.

Should Man United play Champions League football in any of the next three seasons, Memphis’ basic wage will increase by £1.3m in each an every year they are in the competition.

Man United also agree to a one-off loyalty payment of £500,000 provide Memphis is still at the club in September 2018

As to appearance fees, Depay earns £20,000 for every start, and £10,000 for every substitute appearance.

Staying with appearances, Man United owe Depay £250,000 after he makes 20 starting appearances in any season under his contract, while another £250,000 is owing if Memphis starts 40 games in a season.

Ballon d’Or provisions were also included in the contract. Memphis will earn £1m if he wins the Ballon d’Or at Man United, £500,000 if he comes in the top three, and £100,000 for every nomination.

However he gets "… (Ten Thousand Hundred Pounds) on each occasion from the date of this Contract that the Player makes a Substitute Appearance for the Club in a First Team Competitive Match."

It's an unconventional way of writing it but Ten Thousand, Hundred Pounds is one Million by my reckoning!

Those wages are obscene. No wonder we have a hard time offloading these players and end up getting peanuts for them.

Depay will end up banking: £100k/week + 23X£20k + 14X£10K + £250k = £6.05m + appearance fees for the rest of the season.

This appearance fee on top of a weekly wage of £100k/week is preposterous.
 
Don't know why, but I read "officially unveiled" as "officially unwanted (by LVG)" shat a little pebble at that.

Not sure if you're serious or not? It's written out in numbers as "£10.000". But the wording makes little sense, I'll agree with that.

It was posted in jest. I don't "seriously" think it means what they have written, obviously that's why I left the numbers out of my explanation, but either way it's a pretty rookie mistake and should not appear in a contract worth this amount of money.

I'm glad I opened the post with that proviso :D

But yeah, just goes to show that people struggle with doing all the necessary edits when copy pasting in all walks of life.
 
Hmmm, that's the first contract I've ever seen where wages are shown on an annual basis.
