People should realise football intelligence and real world intelligence is completely different. Rooney should be a prime example for this, and many other sportsman follow suit.

They don't even know how intelligent he is, the way someone expresses himself isn't porportional to his intelligence.

Suarez is 1 of the most intelligent players going, but he is clearly as thick as 2 planks combined!

Based on what absolutely pointless, irrelevant horseshit have we decided one of our players is stupid this time? And I suppose we still don't see the irony?

Just saw one of the worst photoshop jobs in history on Twitter but Di Maria has been Memphis'd.

Ffs look at it:lol:

So... Which intelligent is Rooney? There are tonnes more intelligent footballers than him
He's clearly football intelligent. He reads the game very well and usually has the nack of being in the right place. Compare that to his off field antics I would definitely put him in the dumb/smart category.

I have very high expectation on him. He ticks everything I want from a player. Definitely the second coming, IMHO.

I couldnt care less if he's not exactly bright in the real life. Its the inteligence on the pitch which matters.

Look at Tevez for instance, guy never learned english, who knows how his italian is going.

:p Alright I was being too harsh.

edit: The reason why I'm skeptical of his intelligence is because it isn't top class. His off the ball movement isn't quite cutting edge and his passing is pretty one dimensional. For me, truly intelligent players are like Pirlo / Carrick / Suarez etc

Rooney is another prime example.

What does his signing mean for our other wingers, do we need one more winger or do we have enough right now?
Young, Memphis, Nani, Di Maria and Valencia are more than enough. Add in januzaj and Mata too and were well stocked in numbers, just maybe below on quality.

Edit: A newbie ( @Kyuui ) sent me a better quality youtube vid of 4 goals he scored in training, some beauties.

Memphis doing the Soccer AM feature - I Love Football.

Side note, does anyone actually still watch that show?

Also here is his Football Focus interview ahead of tomorrow morning. Talks about his tattoos and cartoons etc.

Neither Memphis or PSV have made all the clubs public (yet?) who were interested in signing him or how serious they were. Trusted Dutch reports say he's been to Liverpool and that they definately were interested, they've been talking to his agent for over a year now. Liverpool is seen as a good step up in Holland too, just under the absolute top to develop further after the Eredivisie because it has a history of succes. Wether they ultimately have offered a bid at PSV is still unclear, they definately spoke to Memphis directly - they could've either:
1 Offered him a contract and agreed to pay PSV the fee with Marcel Brands, but were still waiting if he agreed to the personal terms.
2 Offered him a contract and knew the price from PSV, but ultimately didn't bid because they either didn't fancy his wages or heard that he's not choosing them so decided not to bid. It's possible that they turned down the player and didn't want to buy him, but that'd be strange after all the work they've put in.

Van Gaal said he had to sign him because he was about to sign for PSG, Liverpool might've known this so decided not to bid but to say they weren't interested is a lie. PSG apparantly offered him obscene wages, no numbers mentioned though. Maybe that article will clear up who was closer between PSG and Liverpool, it's not on the site yet though.
