It's no done deal yet obviously. Memphis is visitting all clubs who are willing to pay the transfer fee PSV will accept, which is around 25-30m Euro. He still has to decide on his future, he's currently checking his options first.

The VI article said he was in England and spoke with Manchester United and was believed to have a meeting with Louis van Gaal and the club. The latter wasn't sure, but we're definately interested and have informed about him.

Thijs Slegers tweeted today: I've said Memphis was in England and that he is talking with Manchester United, I've never said he was in Manchester.
Rik Elfrink wrote today that he was in Liverpool to talk to them, so this is probably why he was in England.

They're both reliable, they don't speculate. So I think he's been to Liverpool and PSG. He might've been to MUFC although I'm not sure, it's a bit unclear on the VI article. We've shown serious interest in him, therefore I still think van Gaal wants him.

When he decides we will have the upper hand. Van Gaal, CL, wages and he'll play in the PL (which he likes). We can match the wages he'd earn elsewhere and he'd be given gametime under van Gaal. He sees that Young is keeping Di Maria out the team, so he knows that if he performs he will keep his place.

Liverpool will have a development plan for him since they've been following him for a while. If he wants a lower step first they could be an option. I doubt it though, he'd play CL with PSV and he said he only wants to move to a topclub. They can't guarantee him stability in the future or offer him more than we do in the total scheme of things.

PSG have left a good impression on him, they don't have alot of competition for the wings and he'd earn a nice salary there. They play CL and are a topclub, he could move there. I can't see it happening but I'm not writing them off.

If Bayern Munchen come with an offer (which they haven't so far) they will be serious contenders. They're a big club too and he would be the replacement of Ribery in time. It's no guarantee they will go after him though, and I still believe van Gaal will be the deciding factor in his choice.

We'll have to wait and see, I'm still optimistic about our chances though :D

What sort of player is Depay? I know he's a winger but that's about it.

Pacey, tricky, scores well in the Dutch league. High ceiling and certainly seems the sort hungry for both the challenge and for titles. A United winger, I'd say.

And you can trust me, I've seen at least 4-6 minutes of youtube videos of him.

If United and PSG are interested, what's there to even talk to Liverpool about? I don't understand.

Dont rate this guy, we thought Nani was inconsistent wait til this guy arrives if he does.

Yeah right.
I cant tell if your agreeing with me or being sarcastic? Depay has the feet of ronaldo and the brain of joey barton, consistently makes poor decision whether LVG can improve his consistency/decisions making over time remains to be seen. There will be no tears from me if he ends up somehwhere else, it would just be another excuse/player stopping Januzaj developing.

I'm being sarcastic. What's the point in arguing with you, if you are completely ignoring his goal-scoring record this season and calling him inconsistent? There's no other way than to make fun of your post for its ridiculousness. He's just turned 21 2 months ago and has scored 26 goals this season, playing as a winger. So your definition of consistency must be something else.

Biggest questions is, does LvG want to sign him. Just wanting to be kept informed does not sound very encouraging. Going in half hearted might not work if some other team goes after him real hard, no matter how close he is to LvG. I remember when Robben was shown around the training ground and he ended up going to Chelsea, same with Ramsay.

I understand your view but he's not a united player imo, dirk kuyt scored on average 30 goals a season at a young age in the dutch league, doesnt mean united should have gone out and spent £20m to sign him, you cant compare the leagues. Every time, I have seen him he has not lived up to the hype.

It's been already said on here by someone else, but Suarez, van Persie, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Kluivert and van Nistelrooy all played in that league and turned out to be great. I'm not saying he's the most talented player of his age group, but he's certainly talented, has the right attitude and has 2 good seasons to show for it. May I ask which winger we should sign instead of him? Or do you think we don't need a winger?

Sometimes strikes me as a player who rates his own ability a little too highly, despite obviously being very talented. He attempts huge numbers of shots and dribbles, frequently of the type you'd describe as over-ambitious, which then don't come off. I get the feeling he might end up being a player who both entertains and frustrates (hopefully not in equal measure like Nani did).

I suppose it's worth noting that he is still very young, and if he did come to United he'd be working under a manager who knows him very well, and will likely have a good idea how to refine his game. With that kind of tutelage, he could be a big hit.

I think Di Maria will come good next season and as mentioned hope Januzaj gets more opportunities to develop, if Young wasnt finally showing his worth then I may be more enthusiastic about a winger. If we get a RB, experienced CB, CM & a new number 9 then for me that's a fantastic summer.

I think a wide player would be a good addition. Depay would be a decent signing, and there aren't that many top class alternatives (certainly not for a comparable fee). Felipe Anderson and Bellarabi are similar wide forward types that the club might consider.

Fair enough. I think that di Maria will be better next season, too. With that being said I'm not convinced that di Maria, Januzaj, Mata and Young are enough quality for the wide areas. Or better said Memphis or Felipe Anderson are too good to miss out on.
