the only club in the premier league that got the resources to pay ashley young on a weekly basis is QPR. still, don't think they would actually take young from us.:(

If LvG can't persuade him to join United after being his national team coach, there'll be hell depay.

This is a transfer I like us to do. He is still young, has great potential and shouldn't cost that hell lot of money a Cavani would cost.

If players were written off this early, Ramsey would be back in the Championship and Bale would still be a left back.

Apart from some friendlies, I've barely even seen Zaha play - but all I can say is everyone looked bad under Moyes last season.

So there is no chance at all that he just isn't very good then?

He's 20 and scored twice in his first world cup. Impressive. I wouldn't mind going in for him, although I'd trust LvG judgement on him.

I think that if Van Gaal, knowing his strengths and weaknesses playing LVG football, really sees a role for him at Old Trafford, he will be able to get him. He has a history for getting dutch players, players he knows, who knows him, and prefer young players. Which also means that if don't get him, it's because Van gaal don't fancy him for reasons he must know. In which case I sure hope we don't get him.

Which is unlikely considering at what point in the Australia game he brought him on and trusted this 20 year old.

I think it's only down to LvG judging can he adopt the Premiership and to the pressure of playing for United, and his envisioned style of play he has in mind for United.. the more I watch him (youtube videos yaay) the more i fancy him in United shirt... Rotate him, Januzaj and Mata on the left.. I think in a year or two we could see something like Depay - Januzaj - Zaha (or someone else if Zaha doesn't cut it) and Wilson / Rooney in front of them.

You don't think Mata will be a starter for us in a year or two?

Well I think he will go back to Spain at one point, and if the mention 3 fulfill their potential, I think in a 3 seasons or so we might let him go... The thing is I think Januzaj is best suited to play behind the strikers, as a sort of AMC / playmaker, and I think he will be, he isn't now, but he will be better than Mata, so we might want to free up space for him when he hits 21 / 23 years of age...

Whats this obsession to play Adnan in the middle? I think he is a good dribbler and will be much better utilised coming in from the wings.

It's not obsession, I think he is best suited for that position, to be the focal point of attack, an organizer and play-a-maker, who both creates chances for others, or dives forward to score on his own.. He is still young so he should be given games on both wings and in the center, to develop his skills equally, and see which roles suits him most. I just don't want it to turn into Jones who I think a bit stalled his progress because he was played more at right back or as DM, than as the central defender, which I think is his best role... Also I think Januzaj's crossing is not his best skill, so it would seem maybe a bit of a waste to play him down the wing, when he can be much more than that.. OFC he may turn out to be the next Giggs, but I do see him in a more central role in the future...

Ramsey looked a top tier talent before his leg break. Zaha doesn't.

A lot and I repeat a LOT of Arsenal fans wanted him sold by the end of last season.
Yeah, this was after his leg break. He didn't look anywhere near the player he was before that, but he then somehow regained that form and talent... Zaha hasn't had any sort of talent like that to begin with.

This is one transfer I really wish that it happens. It just feels right that such a talent joins a club like Manchester United. Who knows, under the guidance of van Gaal and improve decision making he could become a fan favorite. 12 goals and 8 assists in 32 appearances is still a great return from the wing.

First minute you can enjoy his blossoming rap career:

This is exactly the type of signings I love. A young goalscoring winger with huge potential and also that he's a very very hard working lad. Delighted that van Gaal is here so he can definitely tempt him to join us. Under his guidance I can see Depay becoming one of the best players in the world.
No 7 is waiting for you Memphy

the only dutch player I would be happy if we sign em. Instant improvement on the wing. I really hope we can sell Young or just give him away to save his earnings.

Looked alright today even if he didn't have quite the same impact as he's had in their last two games. Made a few nice dribbles and he always poses a threat with his shooting-ability. I'd be very excited if Van Gaal decided to bring him here, perhaps even more excited than if we got Sanchez although he's more than probably the best option right now.

Good player, but I honestly think that if we're going to go with a young winger with potential, we should give Bebe a go, and rotate him with our first choice left winger next season. He had a great season at Paços de Ferreira, scoring his fair share of goals. I think we should at least give him a chance before we think about letting him go. He was one of the best players in the Portuguese league last season.

Looks to have good potential and is only 20, would like to see this happen if i'm honest.

Bebe's not a winger though. Never has been. Can't cross a lick and I doubt he's improved because he's playing up front for Pacos, has he not? I'm a big fan and really rooting for him but a winger he is not.

Bebe is a striker. I said that when I saw him blasting those crosses.

But if he is a make-weight for us in getting Carvalho or another player van Gaal wants...good.

We seem well stocked for strikers.

You do get the feeling he's a '£10m today, £40m tomorrow' kind of player.

Certainly worth the gamble.

I've only watched him during the world cup but he seems quite sensible in his play - not over doing it or being greedy but taking the right option most of the time.

That's the impression I've gotten as well, looks like he has plenty in his locker but has approached his time on the pitch with maturity given the occasion.

Same here, he looks like a lad with a massive up side, who will improve immensely in the coming year or two; particularly if Van Gaal is managing his development. What's encouraging about our alleged interest in Vermalean is that he would come relatively cheap, which would allow LvG more flexibility to pursue a player like Depay for 10-15m.

I hope we are not targeting Vermaelen because he is cheap. The guy is a very good backup but is so injury prone that I am worried we will see more of Carrick at CB if we stay with our current options + Vermaelen for next season, as they all seem to be made of glass.
