Thanks for a very informative reply, @Henrik Larsson. Interesting to see how highly you rate Vilhena. I've got a mate who follows Dutch footie closely and he absolutely raves about him. Between the two of you and my having liked what little I've seen of him, I'm starting to think he's the real deal.
FM wonderkid too. Destined for big things.

@Henrik Larsson Why wasn't he (Vilhena) taken to the WC? Just not ready? The midfield competition isn't up to much.

I annoy myself when I see him play because every time he has possession of the ball I always sing the chorus to his:

If we sign him, then someone will kill me

Wijnaldum was chosen over him, and compared to him, Tonny Vilhena just isn't ready like you said. He did make it to the last 30 players though, which is nice. But Wijnaldum is an excellent player, played on the wing or at #10 for Feyenoord and PSV, but this season he was used at CM, did really well there. Got injured heavily, but is fit now. Bit of a Muller type of player, very energetic, smart movement, always looking for a goal and multifunctional.

Yeah well he's also my favourite because he plays for my hometown club, I met him a couple of times watching Feyenoords youth training and all, and he's really funny/silly. Prenounces his name like 'Tony' as in T. Soprano Tony, though his name has to times 'N' in it. So everyone simply refers to him as ' Tony ' .

Talent wise Tonny just looks very special, hard to describe him really. Outstanding left foot, very strong too for his size and age, but he is a #10. Feyenoord has used him as #8 mostly and he did very well there too. A bit of a Van der Vaart x Strootman hybrid is what he looks like. Not as technically brilliant as VDV, but stronger than him and more creative than Strootman.

Whether he's the real, real, real deal I don't know, but Tonny is just something 'special', as in: really different from anything I've seen style wise. But when I was talking about Van Persie for instance, he gave an assist in the semi final of the Uefa Cup vs. Inter Milan when he was 18. It's a bit easier to tell if someone is really special when he gets tested on a level like that.

Richairo Zivkovic is also someone I'm really curious about. Looks very special for sure. Ajax just signed him from FC Groningen (Robben, Suarez, Blind played there too) and he is 17 years old. Already played a full season on the Dutch highest level, scoring 10 goals in 29 matches. He will be 18 years old in September 2014, and looks like the new top bracket forward the Dutch have been waiting for for since RVP and Robben hit the scene.

got some really smart and good moments for a 17 year old playing on the highest level for sure.

like what I have seen aswell. But, I do not believe he is good enough to start for united. He would be a great option to have in our squad in replace of two of the following players; Young, Zaha, Valencia(Beit he just signed a contract) and/or Nani.

He's a brilliant squad player and an exciting prospect, who knows how he'll play with world class support like Mata and a theoretically good MF signing.

A year as a squad player, some stern coaching of the United tier and I think he'll be able to become what Nani couldn't. Comparing him to Young in any way is just laughable, though. At the age of 17 he was already a better player than Young.

Everytime he enters the pitch shit going down for opponents and their defense turns into Swiss cheese.

He's a perfect element of surprise not to mention Van Gaal know exactly when use his high quality abilities.

Sanchez and Memphis with Januzaj would solve the problems for wings for fat years to come. Dreamy concept but surely not entirely impossible.

...yes, as long as he is not instead of Sanchez / Robben!

We're not getting Robben, Sanchez would be my first choice, and Depay could be a player to "blood in" for a couple of seasons before becoming one of our main players (hopefully).

Exciting prospect, looks to have his head on right as well, not a starter but as someone to come off the bench for us I'd like him here.

Sell Young, Sell Nani, Retain Zaha for another year. Keep Valencia. Sign Sanchez and Depay?

Two games in the world cup now where he came on and completely changed the game. His amazing effort resulted in the corner in which Holland scored from and ofcourse he got the goal that killed the game. Against Australia he set up the equaliser and scored the winner. Has been just as instrumental as Robben and Van Persie imo.

He's the sort of player SAF would traditionally target. Hopefully the rest of his World Cup is shit so we don't end up overpaying.

Slowly but surely hoping we are in for him. We have a great advantage over everybody else considering we have van Gaal,
RVP and probably strootman at some stage

It's so annoying that we have the Dutch manager in a time in which Netherlands have their worst squad in over 20 years or so.
Depay is definitely one I want, though.

Wouldn't mind him, but would much rather a proven winger.

With Janjuzaj and Zaha already taking up our "potential" wingers, Depay should not be a priority, as he still looks really raw. Sanchez would be first choice, but from the two matches I've seen, Dries Mertens also looks handy (although Napoli/Benitez will not sell to us)

Zaha, potential winger? That's putting it nicely.

You're probably trying to be funny or whatever, but I don't see how else you would classify Zaha.

Love that, absolutely busting his ass to have a slim chance of a tap in. Without his run Robben had no options, just shows how much desire he has.

How any sensible person can compare Zaha to Depay? Crazy talk! Absolutely crazy! Zaha can't even get a game in the prem, Depay playing for a top eredivisie side, the level of league is much worse, but surely Depay would be a starter at Fulham, Sunderland and the likes. He is at WC, scoring for a Netherlands national team while Zaha keeps speeding on his new Chevrolet, banging Moyes's daughter, whatever the guy does.

Half the time Zaha looks as if he's just been introduced to a football. I don't see this 'amazing talent' some say he has.

He was awesome at World Cup, two goals in three games.. and every time he just changes the game. I really hope we get him.. Although it could prove to be a youngster overplaying his potential at the world cup, considering I haven't even seen any other game.. but given some descriptions from the forum..

P.S. Oh and btw I hope Richairo choses Serbia, which is bloody unlikely, but his last name is Živković .. plus he could be deadly with Mitrović upfront ;)

He's only 20 and he's going to improve as his game matures. I just hope it's with us and not another club because be assured a big club will be calling PSV after his WC performance.

impressed. would be a great signing for us. getting sanchez would be a dream obviously but i would be very happy to start the season with januzaj, depay, nani and valencia as our wingers.

Who would want to buy with his wages so up high.

I couldn't care less. There's no bloody way Young should ever wear a Man Utd shirt ever again regardless of whether he's a good bloke or not.

I'd take Depay over him on any day of the week.
