Apparently its Sterling > Depay now.
It still a well regarded thing and most of the winners have gone onto to do good things. He was better than Sterling last season? Sterling was brilliant for Liverpool, especially in the latter half of last season. Like I've said, I've not seen a great deal of Depay, but from what I've heard, it doesn't sound like he was better.
Apparently its Sterling > Depay now.
Helped PSV finish fourth last season with his 12 goals and 7 assists, Sterling was always going to win the golden boy award over the likes of Calum Chambers,Luke Shaw,Deufoleu etc, it is not an award that is highly competitive every year, the likes of Messi,Aguero,Pogba and Rooney have won it, the 'prestigious' award has also been won by the likes of Pato,Balotelli and Anderson - Golden boys indeed.
Besides, the golden boy award was for last season, Depay has clearly outshined Sterling this season.
Yeah that's my point about the Golden Boy award as well. The likes of Messi, Aguero etc won it, doesn't say anything great about every other winner.Helped PSV finish fourth last season with his 12 goals and 7 assists, Sterling was always going to win the golden boy award over the likes of Calum Chambers,Luke Shaw,Deufoleu etc, it is not an award that is highly competitive every year, the likes of Messi,Aguero,Pogba and Rooney have won it, the 'prestigious' award has also been won by the likes of Pato,Balotelli and Anderson - Golden boys indeed.

Nobody said it isnt impressive, everybody has mentioned that his numbers are very exceptional for that age, but sadly theres more to football than just numbers. And you could argue that Sterling would score more goals in the ED than he does in the PL.Oh my bad i guess 35 goals and 16 assists in 2 seasons (1 season is still ongoing) isn't impressive, because, Dutch League.
Sterling would probably score a 100 goals
Today he isn't. He's played as wingback to accommodate fecking Lallana FFS.Depay was not better than Sterling last season and liverpool finished 2nd in the EPL. Stats wise he has had a better season but Sterling is still the better player.
Now? When was Depay regarded as the better player?

He is the better player, what are you watching?
Read the post I quoted. It says people think Sterling > Depay "now" as if it was accepted earlier that Depay is the better player which simply isnt the case.
Sterling hasnt been very good this year while Depay has been but till the start of this season, there was no contest as to who the better player was. Sterling was superb last year.
Oh, okay. Yep Sterling was good last year but then so were most of the side. I still maintain Suarez made that team better than it was and thats been proven this year.
Sterling seems to be more special than Depay, but Depay has huge thing for him, he knows what type of player he wants to be, he knows where he wants to play and how, and this year he made the necessary changes. I can't say the same thing about Sterling, what is he exactly ?
I dont get that tbh. Depay is just as quick and skillful and looks a stronger player too. I really hope LVG signs him.
He's probably the best right back in the world.Impressive performance against Spain, made Carvajal look average but then again maybe he is.. Would be a great addition to the squad and most likely quite affordable.
He's probably the best right back in the world.
He's probably the best right back in the world.
Is depay genuinely brilliant on the ball? Or is he more about end product?
£60m and he's ours...We should sign him.
£60m and he's ours...
This guy plays for Real Madrid who are better than anyone in the epl.Wasnt that Moreno at Left Back highly regarded pre PL?
It would be a no brainer if we had a chance. We should sign him.
Of course it can be done and probably will be but United never go public with that kind of actions... journos will be absolutely destroyed if they'll ask LVG directly about lad's future while he's still is PSV but what we already know is that Philip Cocu revealed that Memphis may leave this summer as a natural step in the career and Van Gaal has strong history with Cocu as he worked with the guy on many occasions including time in Barcelona.RM getting Danilo in, maybe something can be done. Much rather we overspent on him, than siged Clyne if at all possible.
Why buy Danilo then? He's probably the best right back in the world.
Because Real Madrid. Why buy Danilo then?
Why buy Danilo then?
Can we just announce this already like Madrid did Danilo? I can't wait for him to join, if indeed he is actually coming to Old Trafford.

My take on this is that Van Gaal has enough trusted friends in Netherlands so he can control flow of talents and have the luxury of choice who may join his side without rushing anything... it was certainly the case when we were signing Blind in about last two weeks of a window.
I'm almost sure that if he only wanted, next season United would start with half of a Dutch international team in the first squad but there may be other things like other targets, perhaps even bigger caliber like Bale, there's also need of sorting out the contracts of our remaining wingers (Nani & Young). That may be done first before final decisions who may join...
No matter what we have the best scout and Dutch football insider in a guy who works here as a manager. So far I wouldn't worry about the Dutch targets at all.
EDIT: Player like Clyne shouldn't be a problem if he really is our target. Southampton will sell just like it was in the Shaw case.
