Accidental assist by De Jong for Narsingh's goal.

He's eating the league up. Hopefully van Gaal has him in mind.

Quality player. If we want a proper inside forward who scores goals he and Reus are the best around right now. We should definitely be after 1 of them come the summer.

He seems a good talent but I'm not convinced yet. Didn't really look that good to me at the WC and seemed to have a lot of flaws in his game then. I don't mind us buying him, considering he won't be that expensive. But at the same time, I really hope that we're able to land someone like Reus, who would also be cheap and is certainly world class. I'm not interested in Bale simply because of the ridiculous pricetag. But even if we got Reus, we should still considering signing Depay as well. (especially if we're letting Falcao go)

Highly doubt he would be cheap, depends on your classification of cheap i suppose

Cheap as in his buyout clause/transfer fee. Obviously the wages and signing on fee wouldn't be cheap. But then again Reus is a much better player than Depay at this point.

Depends if Louis van Gaal is planning to stick with the diamond or move to 4-3-3.

Either way I'd sign him even if he played as a forward because he would offer something different, he could drift to the left flank sometimes.

Angel di Maria is intelligent in finding those pockets of space, if Depay drifts to the left he will find the space central, that said, imagine situations where Shaw, di Maria and Depay would find themselves on the left, they'd be a nightmare.

I reckon we can get both, as Barcelona are banned - they seemed to be our rivals for his signature, unless Perez deems him worthy of a blockbuster deal... then we are toast, would be wise to sign Depay early though.

Seems to be the plan, would be exciting to watch

Does sound like a good approach, we'd have a formidable left side if that does happen. Could probably do with upgrades on the other side of the pitch though...

You'd have to think V Gaal will be looking at him in the summer, it's a no brainer for €20m.

Yea I agree. Especially with the Bild report that Bayern have ruled out signing Reus. It really doesn't make sense for Real to go for him, but Real Madrid have never really operated logically under Perez. Chelsea just signed Cuadrado and still have Willian, Oscar, Hazard. City could be interested but they already have quite a few wide options. Same with Arsenal. As long as we get top 4 this season, we can have a strong chance at getting Reus, assuming we're interested.

We should go after Reus and Depay aggressively. Both cheap relatively speaking and young.

Depay-Rooney-Reus
-Di Maria-

Waiting for the day we agree a deal now. Becoming the no brainer potential signing of the season for us. Will be thoroughly disappointed if he goes elsewhere.

Yep he's scoring goals at an insane rate although in a weaker league and he's Dutch. You'd think LVG would be crazy not to at least try for him. We don't have any true wingers or pace up front, this would help achieving that.

That is the attacking line up I want next season. Januzaj rotating in and out as well.

Interesting inside view of a former youth coach. Admittedly meaningless ultimately, but nice to see the links are building in the right direction for sure...

Memphis Depay's former youth coach at PSV Eindhoven believes the winger can follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and feels he would be perfect for Louis van Gaal to work with at Manchester United.

Mart van Duren played his part in bringing Depay up through the youth ranks at PSV, taking a close look at the winger at every turn and guiding him along the way.

Van Duren was himself a winger and took Depay under his wing, being nothing but impressed with the starlet and especially his will to win, which for some coaches could present a challenge when it is so fierce, the Dutchman claims.

"For many coaches it's challenging to coach guys like him because he is an absolute winner", Van Duren told FOX Sports.

"If someone did not do everything to win, you had a problem. When he got the feeling that he was not given the right incentives, it was sometimes frustrating.

"I've always fought for those kinds of guys. They have a certain talent.

"I find it understandable that people can be reminded of Ronaldo by Memphis. Well, I believe he is going to get close."

"Hopefully he can have the same career as Ronaldo. That will depend on the choices he makes in his career in the future. Ronaldo did it very well of course.

"He must choose a club that fits him, also in terms of the football.

"Would he fit at Manchester United with Louis van Gaal? Yes, that's what I think."

The 20-year-old's contract at the Philips Stadion runs until 2018.

He definitely has that "rough diamond" look about him though. He has fantastic speed, is very strong and an awesome shooting technique. Add in the fact he can finish and he could turn into an amazing inside forward.

From looking into him further his attitude seem's very Ronaldo like too. I think we would be mad not to sign him, especially with LVG knowing him already, and Blind being here etc.

I think LVG will go for him. Seems like his type of player and would allow us to move to a 433.
For me, I think we could line up immediately like this:

------ Rooney ------
AdM -- Mata -- Memphis
--- Blind -- Herrera ---

or, we could also line up in his 'preferred' 4-3-3, but I think we would still need another CM. I don't think Fella or Carrick could really play the LCM position. Perhaps AdM there and Adnan moves to LW?

------ Rooney -------
AdM -------- Memphis
--- ? ----- Herrera ---
------ Blind ----------

Either of those lineups look good to me. A nice mix of workrate, technical ability and flair.

He is such a gifted player and is fast developing into a great talent. He did not get much game time at the WC due to the system Holland were playing and still grabbed a goal. He wanted to stay at PSV one more year as he said has unfinished business (Winning the League) We need to snap this guy up in the summer. I can see Bayern going for him. Got an excellent shot, free kick, runs at defenders, cuts in and shoots a lot.

I think he would have been ready for us last summer and could not have been any worse on the wings than Januzaj, Mata etc for us but the extra year in Holland will do him a world of good for his development for sure and was the better option for his development

The whole world seems to think he is already a United player, if we dont sign him, it will be worse than missing out on Hazard

If we sign him, how long before the caf start comparing him to Zaha
Zaha showed more in the championship play-offs a couple of season's back than Depay has shown for the Dutch in this tournament.

We don't need another prospect, we already have Januzaj, Zaha, Lingard and Lawrence. What we need is a proven talent like Sanchez. Reus or diMaria for our wings. At the worst Cuadrado.

If we sign him I want him on the left and nuno on the right so we can play cross field balls from Memphis to Valencia.

To be fair he's nothing like Zaha. He's much less about tricks and is way more direct to goal. that counter attack at 3.20 is exactly what we have missed since Ronaldo. I really do think he could be a star with us, he's got everything to take him to the top IMO.

He blows Zaha out of the water with his stats this season. Far less of an idiot too (although he was one a few years back...)

How quick is this guy?

One thing we have missed this season is wingers and pace.

The problem with Depay looking at that video is that a lot of his goals came through the middle so if we did sign him I hope we utilise him as an actual forward rather than a winger. If you look at his wing play, he drifts in and that will narrow our play down, this would be fine if we had someone on the right who plays wide (and is effective) but we don't.

I would love to see us ditch this seasons tactics and revert to a 4-3-3. You could slot Di Maria in the midfield 3 in the position which he excelled at in his last year for Real, and Depay could be one of our forward choices. Slot Blind in the DM role of the 3 midfield and then rotate Herrera/Felliani/Carrick for the final 3rd midfield choice.

We'd still need another pacey forward though as a forward 3 of Depay/Rooney/RvP/Wilson would all be too slow (not sure on how fast Wilson is though tbf).
