Harsh, he’s a miles better player than he was when he left here. And even in his United spell, he played a couple of good games up top that hinted at that being his best position.

Same. I like him and his desire to want to do his best and give it his all. His determination has helped him get over his flop with us.
He is such an un Barca player but I'm pleased for him, which really shows the fall of Barca of how underwhelming their squad is now, from the likes of Iniesta, Xavi, Messi to now Depay being one of their standout players.

He obviously won't reach the heights of Messi or prime Ronaldinho, but he could be their new Eto'o or Suárez: a motivated no-nonsense forward constantly trying to score; a strong finisher.

Nah, he's not as good as Suarez was at Barca. Purely on a skill level he is, but he can't seem to shake the urge to go for the most difficult play in almost every situation and when things don't go his way in a match he can drop to an insanely low level. Having said that, I would never have imagined a few years back that Griezman and Memphis would be teammates and he would make Griezman look shite.

All of these managers bar Rodgers developed into the managers they are at leagues other than the EPL. This seems to suggest that the only thing the EPL has that other leagues don't have is money (which everyone already knew).

There was a time when the PL only had 2 competitive teams (arsenal & United). This turned to 3 teams once Chelsea joined that brigade back over a decade and a half ago.
Now we have City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea competing for leagues with teams like Arsenal, Tottenham, Leicester (won't even include teams like Everton or West Ham who might compete for an europa Cup once in a while) easily capable of influencing the outcome.
I got nothing against memphis & happy that he is doing well; yet the league is no where as competitive league and I can sleep at night a bit better knowing that Memphis could be a potential top scorer and then hope that people start calling him this amazing player aswell.
Do you mean competitive internationally, in the sense that La Liga clubs are now less likely to compete for European prices? Cause with Barcelona and Real Madrid taking some steps back, inside La Liga, things are arguably more competitive now than they've been for a long time. But I get why someone who is into English football would like the former.

I could then also argue on the other hand that the average amount of players a PL team has in their main squad compared to Spanish sides is not comparable.. Unlike many English sides, Spanish sides have much less luxury to rest/rotate players to keep them fresh for the important matches..
But I get it.. If I would actually also loose sleep over stuff like the competitiveness of La Liga vs the PL (or in my case the Eredivisie vs Jupiler Pro League for example), I would also argue everything in the direction that gives me good dreams..

I dont believe they are drained. They train and are prepared for it. I do admit that Sancho for example will have to get used to the intensity. Wolves gave him no room to breath. Verane will have to get used to lesser sides having a go more times but I doubt it drains them to that extent to give anyone else an advantage.This is particularly the reason why. I think he means that there are more games that can effect the outcome of the key battles. e.g. if PSG played the the premier league they would probably have a better chance of winning the CL most seasons. They would get more accustomed to playing more challenging games. City x2, Utd x2, Chelsea x2, Liverpool x 2, Leicester x2, Spurs x 2, that's 12 challenges potentially.
