McTominay’s post match comments

I have a feeling the the biggest problem is they don't like eachother.
The other theng is that, the first two matches, these players actually tried to press, then became upset at being told to press and cover for Ronnies lack of pressing, so gave up. Admittedly, this is just my imagination.

This was what I thought too.

There was talk about how early in the season there was a Portuguese vs other player fight or something.

It just feels like they don't get along.

Hopefully a manager that can get them concentrating back on some deep tactical football can change that.

If your performance isn’t effected by your workplace being an absolute mess, even if it doesn’t directly effect you, then you’re very different to me and the vast majority of people in the world.

Rangnick was brought as the judge to judge who lives and dies in 6 mths. He was a business consultant that's Brought to audit the squad, he's not brought to lead. He never even pretend to. He gave them a few test run and they fail him badly.

And instead of fighting for that spot they down tools. And rangnick unbiased in his reports tells them all to get fired.

They're not even fighting for their future. So feck the whole lot of them. Many better players played their skin out to earn that starting spot even when things are rosy

I just feel the team is divided into two main cliques/camps: "English/youth camp" vs "International players camp"

"English/youth camp" - Rashford, Lingard, (Martial), Pogba, Shaw, AWB, Jones, Greenwood
"International players camp" - De gea, Bailly, Ronaldo, Bruno, Dalot , Telles, Cavani, Vanane, Amad, vdb
Neutral guys - Maguire, McTominay, Matic, Fred, Mata, Lindelof, Henderson, Heaton

Look at who attended Ronaldo's lunch:

You’re absolutely right. Someone started to throw wood on the fire and take advantage of the situation after a couple of bad matches, and after that everything collapsed. Suddenly Bailly started to moan, and Ronaldo’s agent wanted to get rid of Ole.

I’ve seen several serious references to Bailly. But Ronaldo’s agent, is that just rumour/fantasy peddling or is there some reasonable source there?

So what actually are you suggesting? Those who didn’t attend are the bad apples ?

It might be non specific issues. Just the drama in general. He might be just trying to get the players to do their job regardless of the inevitable off field distractions. Maybe he's as sick of the sideshows as we all are..

Pride is the key word for me in that.

When he can't agree with Ralph's assessment of him and Fred's sideways passing and gets angry in public with journos about it. He should shut his mouth, as he is part of the problem.

Don't disguise this for passion, it's just saving face and blaming others, check this masterclass at avoiding the ball, its world class:

Dam. That is really bad..

Fred jogs back to pick up the ball , VDB would be all over that.

I do think there is a split in the dressing room and it's all the captains fault.

I've said it here, I don't think he should be talking to the press.

Google «Solskjær Mendes» and you’ll find :)

So just turn off the emotions they are feeling about work at work?

Sheesh. Hopefully you are an individual contributor and not a manager wherever you work...
If you are football player you play football and nothing else. Specially in this situation where things have gone bad. That is how you pick yourself up from this hole. No twitter, no instagram, no social media, say no to interviews. Only working on football will help, nothing else.

So when they score a goal they should immediately run back to the center circle? Then when they get home they can celebrate and have a burst of emotion? I'm not sure I follow your logic here.
You know what I'm talking about. It is not about celebration. It is feelings about how team should be fixed and so on. They should just concentrate on football and leave the other to those who know about that.

Nah. You sort it in-house, face to face.
Ideally, but at some point it's going to boil over. Crushing defeat to rival, top 4 hopes down the toilet AND you think your teammates are coasting? Most of us would respond the same.

No idea but both are temporary, makes no sense. Maybe there is something else going on we don't know about?
Who was 'Ted Lasso' in the context of Man Utd?

Losing track of all this drama. Maybe they should have been making a reality TV show instead of playing football.

Maybe. It's just if it did boil over then so be it. But this is just constant bitching, whining, apologies and empty rallying cries. For years. Twats.

Hes literally played everyone except the kids and I for one am glad he isn't throwing them into this dumpster fire.
Same here, as much as I want us to develop our talent and reward them, I think it might be counter-productive as I don't want them tainted by association with this team.

Chris Armas the coach they got in from USA

Chris Armas the coach Ragnick brought from the US.

Whens this from?

Ah, thank you! What a mess this club's got into. I think it might well be the simple answer, the players just weren't good enough, they started playing for us, assumed they'd 'made it' and then didn't have the ethic or talent to kick on and improve.

It was a rumour once and had never resurfaced again

Yeah that could very well be the reason, whatever it is we are in a big mess.

Perhaps for the first 10 or so games when he was caretaker, but the wheels quickly fell off after he got the permanent gig.

Do you not remember how we threw away top four that season?

We finished second last season. Third the year before.

Its sadly the best we've done post Fergie. Unless you count Mourinho's Europa league year (but we finished 6th?) or his 2nd place finish.

Really dire results either way you look at it.

I've been saying it for very long already, Scott is useless most of the time and he's only good at making himself look busy while doing feck all. Not enough good enough to start for Scotland's midfield and he's playing so many games for us. Championship teams have better midfielders than him!

He should be nowhere near a starting role, let alone making it over 100 games for us.

Nottingham Forest, for example.

There is a big disconnect between what people think McTominay is and what he actually is. He's supposed to be this all action physically strong midfielder who puts in a shift every game but from what I can mostly see, he just drifts around letting the game pass him by, and tends to jog around when he's supposed to be covering for his team mates or when there's a loose ball. He only ever plays when the game is suited for him and comes naturally to him and has no desire or personality to impose himself otherwise.

Sacked Ole way too late, Carrick did well to get something out of this somewhat unbalanced squad but then gets the push to bring in a god awful coach as effectively a DoF consultant. The message sent from the top pretty much throughout the season has been "don't really give a feck, try to get into Europe, there's always next year". It's an embarrassment that comes from the top this season - it's not that bad a squad, it's just unbalanced and difficult to manage and we basically didn't take this season seriously at board level from start to finish. No DM, decisions made too late, wrong decisions when they eventually come, just not even close to good enough. Great opportunity to rebuild in the summer though with a new coach and new players.
clearly the board didn't dare make Carrick the interim manager because of the massive balls up they made with Ole forgetting that two wrongs don't make a right. That said, I don't really blame Ralf - only idiots have an interim manager for the best part of half a season; the norm is a few weeks. Would Carrick have been good? No idea but my guess is he's have had no more luck that RR given the utter mess the whole club is in - something I've been warning about for two years

I know the feelings of most here about McT but I really think there's a useful player in there somewhere. Never going to be Scholes but neither was Nicky Butt.

No one can make me believe that the likes of Milner and Henderson at Liverpool were/are world class but they fit in and do great jobs (further back, neither was twat-headed Souness, in my opinion). Also Scott is one of the few to show real passion. With top players alongside him, I think he can do a good job for us. Those who criticise him probably seem him mostly on telly so don't get to see the work he puts in - I wish Sky would bring back player cam.
