Again I can see why people don't like him. In terms of sports though and taking away all his personal life I can't help but respect the guy. There's "cockiness" and there's confidence, people can slate him all day but he has always backed up what he has done. He has a perfect record in professional boxing. There's nothing wrong with him believing in himself and being confident in my opinion. It's impossible to say how we would act unless we were lucky enough to be put in that position. If you get the time to watch the above 2 docs (they're only 25mins each if you do want to) it does show him as being quite humble as a younger amateur boxer.
He hasn't backed up his claims of being greater than SRR though, that is what he claims and on that level that is why he is disliked. He is a top level athlete and yes I do admire that level of dedication to a craft in anyone. As a person however, I don't relate to him on any level.
His own child called the police and said that he thought his dad was going to kill his mum as the violence was so intense. People can make mistakes and I feel the vast majority are worthy of redemption but Mayweather refuses to even acknowledge his crimes. This kills any admiration that I might have for his talent and achievements.
