Not sure about doping in non-athletics/cycling......but if a few are, then it's likely most are unfortunately. As proven by cycling, if everyone chasing is doping can't catch.....however "clean" the leader is portrayed as being, he truly isn't.

I think Tennis is the next sport to be outed for it as a having a pretty big problem though. Although plenty share that thought too, ATP probably happy to keep it quiet given the riches.

Agreed. Something fishy.

Anyone know where I can watch this fight in London (preferably South Ken, Fulham area).

Oscar De La Hoya has mollified me somewhat on this arguement. He says the fighting happening now means these guys wont quite have the legs to move around and such; I bealive this to be a slight in Floyd's direction rather than Manny's. This in theory should result into more aunthetic exchanges which should lead to an exciting fight.

True, but I think Manny's hand speed is/was his most dangerous asset. So it works both ways. Excited for this but it needed to happen around the time that Pacquiao took out Cotto probably.

Again, if anyone knows a pub in London where I can watch this, I would be very grateful for a recommendation.

2 questions: What time is the fight itself expected to start (Ireland/UK time)?

Can I buy the PPV through SkyGo or is there a place to buy the fight and watch it on a laptop because I won't be at home for it?

Fight will start between 3am and 5am if I had to guess.

No idea on the second question. We're buying it at my partners family house.

Tommy has already answered the first question, it depends on other fights really and if they go the distance.

Can only watch through Sky Boxes, won't be available via Sky Go.

@Tommy @Oggmonster Cheers lads, guess I'll just have to chance the streams even though I'd rather just pay for it. Pain in the ass that Sky customers can only watch it through their Sky Box.

Hope Pacquiao bangs him right out, its been a long time coming. Probably more running off, rolling the shoulder up, ducking down, hitting on the cheap and the ref will help him the rest. All else fails, judges to the rescue. Just hope for a good fight.

The Flying Horse pub near Moorgate/Liverpool street are open for it I think.

Thanks. I found a couple showing it but I'm trying to think of somewhere that might be a little less crowded because I just had hip surgery and will need a seat

Anyone know of any pubs in Manchester that'll be showing this? I'm up there for the weekend.

I don't know; but try calling Hard Rock Cafe; they sometimes stay open for big events (SuperBowl) and if they do it'd almost certainly be a great atmosphere with a huge screen.

Tib Street Tavern in Northern Quarter is showing it which is always alright for sports, bit small though and they tend to fill it so I'd suggest getting there early and there's also a sports bar on Ducie St which is usually open late for big fights. If you fancy somewhere a bit bigger then 235 Casino will definitely be showing it, they charge a bit to get in though (think I paid 15-20 quid for a David Haye fight)

Nobody will ever know for sure who or what caused all the delays, but one thing we can be sure of is that it wasn't 100% (or even 90%) down to one side. They've both fecked about and led to it happening years later than it should, and both have blamed each other all the way.

There are by far more Manny fans on here who basically take his word as gospel and think Mayweather lies everytime he opens his mouth, which is understandable but I'm sure they're both full of shit and the promoters on both sides seem like utter wankers, it's probably pretty much 50/50, with them both benefiting from the additional hype caused by all the delays.

Quote from Mayweather himself the other day:

'Everything I do is calculated,' he says, 'even keeping the world waiting for this fight, which would only have been worth about $60m if we'd done it five years ago.'

He might say it was because he wanted to extract as much money as possible, personally I think he saw Pacquiao walk through Hatton and Cotto and reflected on the tough fights they gave him. Pacquiao would have beaten anyone at that point and Mayweather wanted nothing to do with that fight.

Hatton gave Mayweather a tough fight?!

Hatton gave Mayweather a tough fight?!
He made it scrappy for a few rounds but, as ever, Mayweather worked him out and by the latter of stages of the fight he was completely outclassing him and knocked him out. At least Hatton went a few rounds with Mayweather while Pacquiao had him down twice in the first and knocked him out with a massive punch in the second.

It went 10 rounds and the first half of the fight was certainly awkward for Mayweather. The point I was making is that it was tough compared with how easily Pacquiao swatted Hatton away in 2 rounds.

Everything is tough compared to an early KO. The Hatton fight was easy work for Mayweather - Didn't the judges have Hatton winning just one or two rounds by R10KO?

In fairness to Mayweather Hatton seemed far more motivated for the fight against him not to mention he looked a much better fighter than before the Pacquiao fight. In the build up to Hatton vs. Pacquiao he had 2 pretty forgetful fights vs. Malignaggi and Lazcano, before Mayweather he came off 2 of the biggest wins of his career.

It does seem to suit peoples arguments somewhat with regards to Mayweather ducking fights (or fighting them once they're worn down) but when he fights someone first, i.e. Hatton, De La Hoya, Moseley, it's dismissed and they're treated as equals.

1, Round 5 I think it was.

I remember thinking the ref was very kind to Mayweather in the Hatton fight, he stopped Ricky getting inside and broke them up far too readily.

Having said that, Mayweather still had the measure of him, and never looked troubled.

What time is the fight here in the UK?

"Saturday is just work, I'll just do what I do. But I'll make upwards of $200m for this fight, which is $50m apiece for my kids.

Things Floyd says like this makes me really want him to lose. Manny seems like such a nice guy and would never say anything like this.

Scheduled for 4am. Doubt it'll start any earlier than that, possibly a bit later if the two televised fights prior to it both go the distance.
Cheers :) 4am! I have to get up very early for that then.

Earliest they'd be walking out would be 3:45ish but I'd be surprised if it was that early.

Out of interest what's that bad about that quote? Boxing is just a job for him. Out of all the things he's said I don't think that's bad, he's basically saying he's given his kids a great future really. Fair enough really, I liked the follow up quote as well:

"The money is more important than unbeaten record - my daughters can't eat no 'zero'."

I really don't have a reason. Maybe it's jealousy  I generally don't like Mayweather. His cockiness is unbearable, showing off his money and calling him self TBE and naming his company "The Money Team". I am not the only one who don't like him. I once heard his son calling Mayweather a coward because he assaulted his wife.

Compare this to Manny, he is known for his humbleness and acting like an ordinary person

The Ronaldo/Messi angle.

Yeah I don't mind people not liking him, there's plenty of reason to, in particular the assault on his wife and girlfriend, one of them in front of his kids which is horrible.

I like the guy as a boxer though. It's worth checking out the below documentaries on him in the build up to the fight if you want to, I kind of respect him for being honest about the stuff to do with money. He came from a poor background and loves having it, he may be loud and brash but at least he's honest about it. A lot of it does seem like a persona of sorts as well. He is VERY good at marketing himself, as he said himself he'd rather be hated and sell fights than loved and no one watches.

Again I can see why people don't like him. In terms of sports though and taking away all his personal life I can't help but respect the guy. There's "cockiness" and there's confidence, people can slate him all day but he has always backed up what he has done. He has a perfect record in professional boxing. There's nothing wrong with him believing in himself and being confident in my opinion. It's impossible to say how we would act unless we were lucky enough to be put in that position. If you get the time to watch the above 2 docs (they're only 25mins each if you do want to) it does show him as being quite humble as a younger amateur boxer.

I see Bieber is carrying Mayweathers belts in to the ring.

Shame Pacquiao can't beat him up.

Is the press conference today being shown on TV? Heard something on SSN but can't find anything on the Sky EPG.
