Romero was the one who said de Jong was off to PSG
Gets a lot wrong. Been very hit and miss last year or 2 But if you pull it off, very good signing to be fair
That's not true, De Telegraaf in Holland was sure he was going to PSG too. And he was, until he changed his mind.

From another source on reddit:

Good evening all.

Unlike the last few days I come with finally some exciting news. I have spoken with my source (who leaked Daniel James info to me early in the process + Lee Grant last year). Although the marketing department hasnt any form of communication from above (you wouldnt expect this yet anyway), she has spoken with someone else internally at MUFC (Department will remain anon. as I dont actually know this person personally).

Take this for what you want but the notes I have from my source are -

• A record breaking MUFC transfer fee has been agreed with Ajax. This will be filter to wider press over this weekend. • This isnt the biggest part of the puzzle though - Raiola is (im sure we all know that anyway). • A UNITED player heading to Ajax is being explored as part of the deal - her internal source would not name anyone though (who knows what that means). • Barca's wage structure will not allow for a competitive offer Vs United's current one on the table.

So with this information, doesnt seem to be a possibility of repeat situation like De Jong > PSG > Barca.

Just read a quote on twitter from a journo that said he's still on his way Barca and isn't interested in playing in the premier league, in fact it's on the tweets page of this forum i think

What is fishy to me is that only United/Barca are getting linked from the Spanish side. Cant believe only 2 clubs would make offers. Surely City, Bayern and Juve would be all over this if he doesnt agree a deal with Barca
Bayern have Pavard, Sule and just bought Hernandez for 70mil they don’t really have a need for a CB unless they are only going to play Pavard at RB and Hernandez at LB and move Kimich to DM whilst selling Hummels. They also have Martinez who can play CB.

And are currently trying to sign Sane for 70+ Million.

I was almost believing until it mentioned the player trade part. Unless it’s Football Manager, or you’re William Gallas, it never seems to happen

Heard Adidas will play an important role in this negotiation, it seem Adidas is willing to pay more money for De Ligt if he joins Manchester United.

I could see TFM going the other way, they like to get their Dutch players back.

Of course not. We also agreed to send them our tea lady for a week. They are all jumping on this transfer now as if they know something

That's right. God I remember being on holiday in Greece. I checked out the Juventus website on my phone while in the hotel room to see that they'd pulled Pogba from the front page in the new kit. Ruined the rest of my holiday checking this place every 10 minutes after that.

Truly one of us.

Why should we believe him ?
We shouldn't. Especially when Ajax have said they aren't haggling over the price and figures less than both Pogba and Lukaku fees hae been mentioned. It seems to be negotiating the contract with De Ligt himself is the real big bucks. That whole post sounds llike bollocks.

I want to believe these guys but no one at the club is privy to this kind of information unless you're doing the negotiations, and Woodward is the only man who takes care of those.

Solskjær wouldn't even know this stuff.
