Why would anyone feel foolish?
Any statement from club or player? No
Any pictures of player being presented wearing new club kit? No

Maybe because quite a few thought and some certain he would join Utd, whereas in reality, there was no chance.
Not yet, but it is a matter of time, just like Jao Felix to Athletico.

Where are all the ITK's who were saying it is a done deal? feeling pretty foolish right now I would say.

I have posted earlier saying there is no chance with Bayern, Juve, Barca options available he would chose UTD.

Isn't it just as silly to assume he is not joining United without any indication from the player or agent stating so?

If anything, with what is known, he has declined one of the clubs on your list - Barca. Tells me it's every one's guess until it's a done deal.

Linked with Bayern by their mouthpiece: Did not happen
Linked with Barcelona by their mouthpiece: Did not happen
Linked with PSG by Bouhafsi: Did not happen
Linked with Juventus by Marzio: Will not happen

There's a reason why Stone is quiet on this. We are definitely in for him and I'm certain he'll play for us

Been a week since Di Marzio told everyone De Ligt was a step away.

All Journalists are only as good as the info they're given.

It seems Raiola is playing everybody like a fiddle, I have no idea where it'll end.

It seems most clubs are getting fed up of the guy though, his reputation has taken a bit of a dive this summer IMO.

For someone young and in demand, you want to see:

1. A clear playing style - Ole wants to play counter attacking - not De Ligt's preference.
2. Champions League - After getting to semis, you want to be successful
3. Challenging - Not for 6th but for titles.
4. Team mates - Messi, Ronaldo, or Phil Jones...

The one thing that everyone mentions is Ole as manager will fail to attract players - I don't think this plays that big of a deal.

He is 19 years old and has maybe 10-15 years ahead of him. This is not a one season deal is it?

How does that work?
The owners of Juventus and FIAT are the same people (Agnelli family)

The Agnelli family is very rich. They have a net worth of 13.5 billion, that’s 3 times richer than the Glazers.

Juventus’ financial strength is seriously underrated on here.

Doubt the dip in reputation will last long when he is pivotal in helping his next team to league and champions league titles.

With FFP, it doesn't really matter how rich your owners are. All depends on what Juventus are generating as a club, determines what they can spend.

However, like in the case of City and PSG, you have to ability the fiddle the books!

Their financial strength is only part of the equation though. FFP rules tie spending and salaries to club revenues and Serie A has struggled to generate profits at the level of La Liga and the PL, this is why AC Milan have been suspended from Europe and why Inter cannot complete a deal for Lukaku. Juve tied up a staggering amount of money in payroll to land Ronaldo alongside the 100m fee they supposedly paid and they have now given Ramsey a fat contract and are widely believed to have landed Rabiot too. They may be financially capable of completing a deal but would risk non compliance with FFP unless they can offload a few players in this window.

This. I do fear though that City are going to throw as many lawyers and as much money at this as it takes to consign FFP to history.

No progress.
Back we come in July.

That's good news actually. If other teams are having a hard time closing any kind of deal, maybe we can come up with an offer after other signs are completed.
Daniel James + Wan-Bissaka is a good start. A couple of good signings more (Longstaff+Fernandes?) could help convince de Ligt we're serious about the rebuild and ready to return to the UCL.
I'd go as far as saying that maybe he's waiting to see what we're bringing in before making a final decision, but that's just wishful thinking. I don't think it's impossible though.

DiMarzio has been wrong just as much as he's been correct. He's no different than UK based journos.

For some reason this tier 1 bull has started up in recent years when the only real tier 1 is when the club announces it.

Dugarry:
De Ligt's choice makes me want to vomit.
"He is a very good player but with this mentality he will not last"
The former French striker attacked the defender for going to Juventus: " Where did the sporting choices go? There are Barcelona, PSG and Juventus . We must be clear, the sporting choice is Barcelona.

De Ligt is not going to change his mind over sean fecking longstaff. If anything, this type of signing will just reinforce his decision to stay away. He clearly doesn't want to lead a team of okay players and youngsters with potential....and I fully understand that opinion. He is almost world class already,he wants to be surrounded by similar talent.

Very exaggerated opinion. The Italian league may not have the charm of the past but it is still a great competition, and Juventus a super team.
