Glad we got him in. He has something to prove as well. Between him, yoro and licha we have a couple of good CBs on our hands, finally. Hopefully we get a solid DM in now, and we should avoid conceding 20 shots a game.
 
Welcome De Ligt! Really happy we have signed a 2nd centre back. De Ligt probably hasn’t hit the heights that he did at Ajax in the previous few years but I think he can be a great player here. Wasn’t sure whether he would start on Friday but with Shaws injury, I think he might.
 
Hopefully this also means the end of Jonny Evans as CB for us. He steadied the ship at times where we had no one and hopefully he can wind his United career down without being pushed to the edge of his physical capabilities every game.
 
DeLigted with this. Hope he can settle in quickly and show his quality for us. Even at his worst, we are essentially replacing Maguire with a guy who once was touted as having the potential to be best in his position for half the price. If he can reach his potential, this signing could turn out be an absolute bargain.
 
Good news that we've bulked up our defensive options. Not particularly convinced he's the right signing but hope to be proved wrong and he's as good as everyone says.
 
Needed a decent centre back signing after letting Varane go and I think it's been done here. A good defender at a good age profile.
 
Exciting times to be a red! We should have a very strong defence now!
 
For the price this could be sensational business. £38m for a 24 year old is wild even if just plays decently.

age and experience profile is brilliant....now if he can stay healthy and find that form he had during his prime Ajax days, he and Licha/Yoro should form a brilliant partnership
 
Can this be our modern Jaap Stam signing? A young, hungry Dutch player joining a team with a lot to prove—just like Jaap did back in the day. You know what could follow next...
 
Can't say the manager hasn't been backed by INEOS :lol:, everyone signed so far bar maybe Yoro have his fingerprints all over
 
Welcome!! People aren't excited enough about him imo. Just turned 25, he's a top CB and was the most sought after defender in the world not that long ago. He's going to be a top player here IMO.

Lindelof gone soon hopefully.

First 3 are good.
Maguire is a solid 4th choice.
Evans will hopefully rarely be needed.

That's just a link to his dad's business. Basically he lies there, naked, in a puddle of his own sweat with a team of handlers tying a lasso to one of his wrists and sloshing him around 360 degrees. Thanks to his stomach anchoring him in place, and the layers of gout and buttery arteries in his lower body, he reaches a perpetual spinning motion. It's at this point that a circling group of patrons lob sausages at his mouth. The winner of this game gets to scrape the crusts off of his various folds.
 
Decent depth now (one of Lindelöf or Maguire is surely on their way out?). It takes the pressure off Yoro as well. It also allows us to play three at the back if needed, which is probably the best way to get both Zirkzee and Højlund on the pitch at the same time. Not that I think we'll do that often but it's good to have options.
 
Wanted him when he was at Ajax. Obviously, it wasn't meant to be, but fast forward a few years and here we are.

Hopefully, he'll come in and hit the ground running.
 
He will transform our defence I have no doubts about it, absolutely transformative signing
 
great signing . this young team that we have gives me a lot of hope for the next few years we just need a top dm and maybe another striker and we could even be a problem this season . good times ahead me feels .
