Matteo Darmian

Pogba and Zlatan had by FAR - the biggest defensive blunders on friday - not Valencia

Myth, myth, myth, myth . . .

Just go back and watch the PSV match, what Pelle did to him, the first half against Arsenal, his first ten minutes off the bench against Spuds . . . thee most embarrassing defender I´ve ever seen at United. Unbelievable how this myth still gets propagated.

That must be quite an accomplishment given your age and wisdom.

Considering how things have turned out for Valencia and Darmian, there must be something to my age and wisdom, lol. Meanwhile you may scratch your head and continue to wonder why Darmian isn´t even on the subs bench anymore.

He's obviously not a Mourinho type player because he lacks the dual threat aspect in the attack department. I'd imagine Jose would prefer Valencia since he is more effective in both departments instead of just in defense, and would be comparable stylistically to Maicon, Bosingwa, and Marcelo.

Started really well last season, but then we were so dam defensive it helped!
Arsenal away was probably the low spot.

Offers very little going forward, and not particularly strong. No worries about shipping if Mourinho wants to do that.

Darmian would be great if we had somebody like Ronaldo or Bale on the right side. As all he would need to focus on is the defensive aspect. But I feel our right side would be weak without Valencia. Just look at the crosses he puts in for Ibrahimovic.

Darmian and Mata is also a very bad combination.

I hope you keep him too from an Opposition fan standpoint. He's fairly average in all areas and was a complete shambles last season, but I wonder how much of that was due to the club being in a bit of disarray, maybe with a solid defensive tactics from JM will bring out the best in him.

I think he would've left by now. I see Phil Jones (sold) & Andreas Pereira (Loan) being the last two outgoing players.

Really shouldn't be sold - he can play both RB and LB so he will provide good cover in case one of Valencia or Shaw gets injured. Although we have TFM to cover for Valencia, Shaw could need a rest every now and then.

We've gone a few pages in about whether he should be sold or not. Has there been any new rumors/ITKs claiming he's leaving/any other speculation?

For those of you who don't rate him, if Valencia is to be our first choice RB, is he not good enough to be second choice?

He'd be great as cover for left and right back, but I don't think he'd be happy with that and would probably look to move.

What is happening with this guy?

I haven't heard Mourinho mention him once when naming our defensive options, yet there seems to be a complete lack of movement regarding any possible departure

He wont go, seems like Jose has said the truth, no ins and no outs.

Definitely seems that way now. Think we could have let quite a few go if we'd wanted too, but the need to rotate in the Europa is giving a few the chance to stay. Fair enough decision I think. Squad seems in pretty good shape.

Jose has had a good look at his character I think, that TFM gets in ahead of him after that display against Northampton says that he doesn't fancy Darmian one bit. He seems like a nice guy but one happier at a mid table club with less pressure.

I don't like TFM at right back particularly, prefer him in midfield, but first team action for him is good. Darmo is an odd one. I think he is better than he has shown for us in recent appearances, but hard to pick him when playing poorly. Rojo is the same mind you.

Really thought he would have been a first team player under Jose.

Can't believe he can't get a game at left back ahead of that chump Rojo at the very least

Darmian, Schneiderlin, Depay and Schweinstiger can't even get a game in Europa league. What a waste of time last summer's transfers have proven. Add Di Maria and Rojo and LVG's transfer legacy is an real embarrassment.

Schweinsteiger doesn't play for us anymore.

Thought he was shit even from the first YouTube video I saw of him during his transfer thread. Hasn't changed my mind ever since.

Dreadful player who play like he's missing a set of balls, can't wait to see the back of him and a number of other players for that matter.

Yeah didnt realise the scope of the issues

Of course you could make arguements for some of them playing

Schweinsteiger coming here probably ruined the transfer of Gundogan to us.

Think about that.

With Italy his likely destination we will take a serious loss on this guy. Those stingy bastards will probably offer us £5m maximum.

If we manage to salvage £10m for the pair of him and Rojo we will have taken a £20m hit, but it will be well worth it to get those two calamities out of the club. No point in them hogging gametime from Bojack and TFM.

And yet people will still tell you Van Gaal left a legacy and built something for the next manager. His record in the transfer market was abysmal.

I really liked Darmian when he started with us, he had some very good performances. It think is sad how things went downhill.

TFM is not a right back, and I rather play Rooney as left back than RojoIsRed. He surely could play somewhere. As could Schneiderlin having to sit for Marouane.
