Yes.. This.. And hopefully we can play AdM on the right and let him express himself without the worry of losing the ball..

AdM on the right, Memphis on the left, Mata through the middle, Rooney up top. Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin as CMs..

Darmian, Otamendi, Smalling, Shaw as back 4.. That would be very nice..

Where's Herrera? :(

Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Muller both included in Bayern kit promos. That's it. They're not going anywhere.Read into it what you will.

I like Tony - he's been a great servant to the club, but he hasnt been great the past couple of years tbh, but he put in a decent shift last season for us at RB & we gotta respect that.

We might see a different Tony next season though - he got the screws/pins & plates removed from his ankle & is in full pre-season training, so he might feel a bit more liberated now..

I don't want to derail this thread but I would be gobsmacked if he actually improves his level of play. I don't know how much of the screws/pins hampered him but removing them won't help in him learning to remember that football can be played with both feet.

That's true, a lot of people never feel comfortable running with metal in their bones, maybe it's been holding him back. I think we all forget they are only human at the end of the day, would be cool to see him back to his flying best.

I fully expect to wake up tomorrow morning to see reports saying it should be announced tomorrow.

Yes, it's not always a connection between lexical similarty and actually understanding each other, but studies has shown that if an italian and a spaniard speak their native language to each other, they will both understand about 75-80% of what the other one is saying.

I don't believe that at all, Italians, french, portuguese and Spanish can all read each other languages, but we can't all listen and understand each others, it will depend a lot on where you come from in your own country.
And Italian is a lot closer to french than it is to spanish, and it's not easy to understand when spoken.

Italian might be closer to French but I understand Spanish and even a bit of Portuguese much better than French. In fact, when my Spanish friends talk to me in Spanish, I can understand pretty much everything they say to me, but my flatmate has been trying to teach me French for almost 3 years now and I can barely muster up a few sentences.

It's the same for me, I understand Spanish a lot easier, and I suspect that it's just because I trained myself more in Spanish than in Italian. Because my intuitive understanding of Italian is a lot stronger, I never learned Italian but can read it. When I look at a text in Italian I realize that it's obvious, the sound of the words are extremely close.

I'm not from any of those countries so I'm not going to disagree with you on that, if you are french, you are a lot more qualified to comment than me. Just passing on information that I've read/heard from my spanish friends.

That's bang on man. I've an Italian & Spanish housemate & they speak their native tongue to each other & are able to understand perfectly. Unbelievably baffled i was when i copped what was goin on..

Tony gives a lot of silly free kicks around the box. :(

Can't wait for this transfer to get over the finishing line. At last we don't have to put up with Valencia screwing up our attacking play on the right wing.

Just noticed that in his 4 years at Torino he hasn't played less than 30 games a season in the league for them.

I think that would have worked in his favour when we were looking at buying him.

The way we conclude deals is getting on my nerves. It is awfully slow.

Yup with some clubs you see the cycle of rumour - confirmation - medical - signing to be done in a couple of days with us it always takes weeks or longer.

You never see a rumour poping up and the next day a new player holding the shirt with Woodward/Van Gaal. It always takes weeks of negotiating, rumours about when the medical is going to, which take forever, even then sometimes days until it is official and confirmed.

The way we do these deals always seems so much slower and heavier than most other clubs. it is like an easy to complete signing doesn't exist for when United is involved.

That means nothing when they start at United unfortunately. Rojo and Shaw were relatively injury free for most of their careers till they joined us too
