Yet, ironically, striker is a weak spot right now.

Agreed although not to the same level as getting a winger (depay) or a DM/RB.

Feels like Chelsea's window last summer... Everyone knew the weaknesses they had and the players they needed to get, and they just went out and got them. Schneiderlin, Depay, Darmian are all excellent signings and exactly what we needed (if we get them Schneiderlin of course). Now just add in Otamendi or Ramos to it and we're pretty much sorted.

Yeah very excited to see this team if we do complete Schneiderlin and a CB.

They're great in managing injury proned players cause when injured players come back they remain first teamers?
Hm..

Arsenal I think has even worse injury record than us...

Its the fact that they have worse injury record than us that makes me think Rafael will be a good signing for them. They have much more patience with injury prone players & in fact, I think they view it as a natural type of squad rotation.

While us on the other hand are very quick to give up with the likes of Evans, hargreaves,Rafael etc

So is he an Evra type kinda fullback or a more reserved 'defend first, attack later' kinda fullback?

Wondering if this deal has anything to do with that scouting mission to Italy a while back,if so...our next striker might also come from Serie A.

Icardi?

He's only 22 and he scored 22 goals and got 6 assists in 33 games last season for a pretty average Inter side, surely worth a punt no?

Plus he is another Argie to put with ADM and rojo and possibly otemendi. What's not to love.

In the middle.... Just an all rounder, no real weakness, equally adept at either side, gets forward but also is very good defensively.

Isn't he a cnut and not actually that great apart from being a very good finisher?

Was rooting for him too.

Evans we gave up on cause he's a bad player. You think we should have been more patient with Hargreaves and Rafael. I dont think so..
I'm not sure they view loosing injured players like a natural type of squad roatiaon. Nor they're glad their players get injured a lot.
They've been patient with Walcott for instance and what good did that bring them.

I'm not saying we should be more patient but a team like arsenal are. Anyway moot point since I remembered that bellerin has been quite good for them.

There's another Italian striker left footed can't remember his name, is it berrardi? He can also play RW.

Yeah there is think he is called Berradi your right but I've Never seen him play tbh so can't comment on him

Isn't he a cnut and not actually that great apart from being a very good finisher?

Yeah he is a Cnut in the sense that he stole his mates girlfriend or something like that but it doesn't affect his goal scoring ability so I'm not too fussed about that tbh. Do you really think chelsea fans give a damn about Terry's many many many affairs I'm sure they don't.

Was rooting for him too.

That sucks but I'm sure they'll be somesort of release clause or something, inter aren't really going anywhere at the moment as a team, if we come sniffing he may want to come.

Gundogan rumors emerge, we swoop in and sign Memphis
Ramos rumors emerge, we swoop in and sign Darmian

Im liking this pattern.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but if he's as highly rated as everyone says he is why is the fee so low? Are Torino in financial trouble ?

All rounder, really. Very balanced. Probably his attacking is where he graduates from 'good' to 'special', but in that category it's his crossing, finishing and runs in behind that are strengths, rather than being a ridiculous dribbler like Evra.

The feck did I just read. We gave up on Hargreaves too quickly?!

Yeah, maybe we should have waited three more years.

Normal gash about English players being overpriced and Italian teams adequately valuing players, oh and the value of the Euro seems to have dropped, Torino is also a relatively small club as this is their highest amount gotten for a player.

The fee isnt low for clubs like Torino or even Serie A in general. The ridiculous amount of money made by the PL clubs and the 2 Spanish clubs mess transfer fees up.

I worded it wrong. Once our players go through injuries, they tend to go on a downward spiral. However at arsenal they are at least used as squad players whenever they come back from injury.

Agreed, but its not something Arsenal control... they have also had their fair share of players who became trash after suffering from injuries.

Man.. Comments like this really show the difference between leagues. 20m Euro is alot for a small club like Torino, in Holland most clubs don't have more than a few million.

On a scale of 1-10 how happy are people with this signing? I've heard or read good things about him, but also pretty average things too.

Ah cheers man. Sounds like he'd be a good addition and definite improvement on Tony V

Id say around 8...we haven't had a proper RB since Raf circa 2013, now we have a RB and backup RB....things are looking up!

At least an 8. From what I have seen very good value for the money. Might be a better signing than all the rumoured big names like Schweinsteiger, Ramos, Götze etc.
