If Hummels is available, I'm sure both LVG and Woodward know what the price should be.
Woodie's interview yesterday showed me he is aware of the current state of the market, I do not believe for a second Hummels is available for 20M or we would bid such a paltry amount for a world class defender.

We are going after the elite players and they are notoriously difficult to prize away as they are all already at top clubs, unless you do a PSG and say name your price. I don't think we will get Hummels this year, so possibly we will sign a cheaper option for this season and go back for him next season.
Pretty sure Madrid paid 35 for Alonso and the same for Modric. Sure there be more if i could be bothered to google it
It makes sense if the 20M was being used for the sign on fee, agent fee and sometimes the "parent" fee... Neymar's dad was paid £34M on top of the club and agents fee.
Agreed, Vidals worth in the current market is around £40m/€50m.
So what? Things have changed - the club has more money and more ambition.
Top players are not easy to get, that much is obvious. People need to be patient and pleased that the club had the ambition to try and buy the best.
Some serious moaning on here. Some fans are never happy - they twist when we target decent if not spectacular players (see Vermaelen and De Jong) because they're not good enough then moan when the club go for better players because its a "waste of time". It's tragic.

I don't think this is happening either, but a manager rubbishing claims isn't a good indicator at all. Managers deny stuff like this all the time before selling said player the next month.

I think we should change this thread to Hummels- not leaving! I honestly cannot see why Dortmund would let him go at all! He's a great defender and would do well here but I just can't see it.

He said the 16M rumours from "Sport" were bollocks, which was obvious. Bild themselves said they don't think Hummels will leave, not even for a larger fee.
