Gaming Mass Effect: Andromeda (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Hamfisted though it was, I'm going to miss the organic vs. synthetic themes and presence in the squad.

Legion was cool, still peeved BioWare made me kill all Geth. Didn't even get a cool death moment like Mordin.

"Less" doesn't mean "none at all", you know.
The biggest problem is the body movement anyway in my opinion, it just doesn't look natural.

I think I know a little more on this than you my friend.

And no, the body movements really aren't natural at all, we completely agree. I'll be interested to see if they do actually fix this, I think it can be done because there's no way it's been motion captured like that, but since it's clearly been rushed out and EA are cnuts, will it?

After I invested some effort in getting the Geth and Quarians to reconcile (prob my favourite plotline) there was no way I was choosing that silly Destroy ending

Nope. They will sell enough copys anyway and the world, tbh, is still pretty goddamn beautiful. They will at least patch out the glitches though, that much is promised.

Sadly, on that last point, games are now so hugely expensive to make (and I'm not going to go there again, I promise!) that I doubt they'll make enough money to justify this team fixing this game and then working on the next.

Read some postmortems of Bioshock:Infinite to see what I mean :(

The world in Dragon Age Inquisition was beautiful and huge too but after 40 hours walking around doing mmo style quests I got pretty sick of it.
The first planet in MEA, whilst not as cluttered with shit, gave me that feeling a bit, again. But let's see.

Moaning cnuts in here! I for one cannot wait, booked some time off work as well

Predicting between 82-85 on metacritic. Which is very decent by the by.
That would save me 60 euros  (Dragon Age 2 which was universally hated got 82 on metacritics). Heck, even Mass Effect 3 got 89 (PC) and 93 (PS3/Xbox 360).

Yep. And they spent 5 years on this, so surely this has cost too much to make, and it really needs to sale well to be a success.

On the bright side, it is clear that games sell well if they are made well. CD Project Red was a relatively small company compared to BioWare (let alone EA), but they made a terrific game and the sales reached 10m, which would give them enough money to become a much larger company.

RPG is still a relatively small genre compared to games that sell a lot. You really need to make a great game to justify the costs of the game.

It is decent, but they tend to give out high-ish ratings to the bigger names like this. NBA and Fifa are always scoring within the 80s despite the user score often being around half of that. When are the ratings out?

Sports games are a different story, unless there's something completely off the scores rarely change and the review is a phoned in copy and paste job from last year. I think this will get low to mid 80s and it won't be a surprise considering review scores are generally lower this generation and established names aren't immune from a critical review.

Been seeing some absolute nonsense online about this game. But decided to watch a stream for a couple hours and it looks absolutely top notch. Actually is an RPG unlike 2 or 3. Seems to have the exploration and deepness of mass effect 1 (which is my favourite). And the dialogue looks to be the same high standard from bioware. Seems to be just another gaming bandwagon

Is Vince Ingenito doing the review for ign? I fully trust him, and he seems to be one of those rare reviewers who tell things as they are, while being very nongenerous with votes.

Oh Bioware what have you become...

:(

Its not the same BioWare tbh, most the talent in their dev team have moved on.

They're now filled with a bunch of hipsters:

He was let go recently.
Shit. It means that I cannot make my decision just based on ign review then.

Edit: Apparently he got fired immediately after the Switch review. He was quite negative on that review. Coincidence?

Not looking as good as many would have hoped - sitting on 74 after 19 reviews on metacritic.

And here it comes, the reviews seem to be brutal, worse than what we expected. 7.7/10 on ign, 75/100 on metacritics (based on 7 reviews so far).

What is wrong with BioWare?

6 on Gamespot and 7 on IGN....Bioware, Jesus fecking Christ. I won't be buying this until it comes on sale. I mean the animations are ridiculous how did they even pass those off? Like seriously a full team of programmers and god knows how many bosses above them and they sign off on that shit, it just says straight away they don't give a feck.

I cancelled my order

mid 70's really isnt that bad a score on metacritic, but I think I can wait until its on sale

7.7 on IGN.

the 6 from Gamespot also seems a bit mental to me, they basically said it's a really fun game to play and the combat is great, which warrants more than a 6 in my eyes.

Anyway, 75 on Metacritic - from glancing around it seems there's a really good game in there but it's let down by its technical problems and poor characters. I think I'll wait a few months and let Bioware patch it up and then get into it.

Horizon and Persona 5 first.

Devastated. I pre-ordered this on psn. What a bunch of cnuts Bioware are.

Doesn't surprise me after what I've played.

I don't know why they thought (if they thought) the story, characters and dialogue aren't that important? I don't remember Mass Effect for its great combat, I remember the characters and the universe they created. Whoever led this project got it completely wrong.

Bioware is just a name, the talented people from old are long gone.

Gamespots 6/10 was brutal.

I hope this bombs commercially.

Also people never learn when it comes to pre-orders, stop doing it ffs.
