I've been surprised with the lack of anger shown to the Club over this selling by Chelsea fans here.

i’d imagine it’s a lot like when your wife leaves you for a younger, fitter, more successful and attractive man. you can still feel sad about it but you love her that much that it’s also nice to think of how happy she is when he’s pumping her full of his seed and meeting her every need and desire. and you’ve still got your dingy bedsit and benefit money, and no one can take that away from you. except the tories, who are means testing you next wednesday.

Can't speak for any other Chelsea fan but my feelings about this will be determined in a year.
With his last 18 months I genuinely can't work out if it's bad form/a by-product of everything happening upstairs or a Dele esque early burnout/decline (he's been flogged to death pretty much since his breakthrough). I was delighted when the one year and reaccess deal was being rumoured as we would have got the best of either world.
If it turns out to the the former and he gets his 2021 self back then yes it won't be nice, not quite Salah/KDB level regret (especially if Nkunku turns out to the business) but it would still be a pretty shit sight.
This signing is like a bad dream.

They have so many that it's probably impossible to get too worked up about any single one of them. Like I'm not angry or sad if I lose a toothpick.
This chant has ruined me. After saying how gash it was earlier, all I've done is chant "Mount, Mount, Maaason Mount" in the same way he sings it.
Pretty much. If you have to show United fans youtube videos explaining “what is Mason Mount good at” just to explain why he’s good, it’s probably not a good sign.
1. He's clear of Eriksen and absolutely improves the first team.
2. He can play on either wing or as an advanced central midfielder. Gives Erik another option in theree different positions.
3. Not many players are consistent but he's been consistent enough to be a regular starter in a big 6 side in the PL.
4. Just not true. His highest level is near top class.
Can't say I can find any points to overwhelmingly disagree with what you've said.
I suppose the only thing is "average" probably has to be contextualised. I don't think average PL players do what he did in the season before last. But in terms of clubs at the top end of the table, top end of Europe, he doesn't seem to be top class.

We need more energy from him than that video, that’s for sure!
Don't play him in the wide areas, I'd say that's where he's the least effective. What he excels at is timing the run from midfield next to the opponent's DM and receiving the ball on the half turn, finding the pocket of space in front of the backline. From there he can usually find a combination of some sort and create a chance. Wouldn't expect him to be much of a creator in terms of consistent inventive passing, but rather his chance creation is from situations similar to above. Decent dead ball delivery and will probably pitch in with a couple of assists that way. Negative is that he sometimes floats in and out of games, but that might be improved with a clear system to function in. Good at pressing (without leaving big holes behind him) and doesn't particularly tire in games.

It’s a joke that people think Mount won’t improve us. He’s an upgrade on Eriksen, he’s a lot fitter so will give us 90 mins that already improves us. Got better technique, a lot younger. He won Chelsea player of the year twice aswell. Once when they won the CL.
Is there a more underwhelming signing that was also immediately a rock solid starter and extremely likeable?
He was, but when we signed him as a replacement for Ronaldo were you not underwhelmed?
