I have a feeling Mount a bit deeper in midfield might have been a bit like what Beckham might have been in Centre midfield for us - with more balls played on the ground.
Looking at Mount’s highlights - he seems to make on the floor crosses from out wide, takes quite consistent deadly corners, has the ability to score free kicks, has energy, makes through balls and has the ability to dribble out of tight areas whilst finding himself in the right spot at the right time to finish moves just inside or outside the box.

We've done exactly the right thing - told Chelsea its our last bid for him, we'll walk away if they refuse.

We walk away, but leaving the door open if they lower their demands.
We start making moves on the alternatives identified (more than likely ETH knows who they are and have signed off on them).
Obviously ETH wants Mount but he'll know the situation and after a summer long pursuit of De Jong last year he'd be wise not to repeat that, because that's what makes the club look amateurish.

He isn’t going to sign a new contract if Chelsea treat him poorly though, by sticking him in the reserves. Your only hope to retain him is to make him a guaranteed starter this season and offer him £250k or more wages.

Kudus basically plays as high as Bruno, but I don't see him to have as high workrate to do it on Title chase level.
For what it's worth the article also says Caicedo is an alternative but as far as I am aware he already committed to Brighton so we might as well take the article with a truckload of salt.

If we did that we would be hailed as genius, we won't though we won't even bid for Caidedo in my opinion because we can't afford it. We are simply trying to pressure Chelsea to accept the current offer
This could be a very clever move from you guys. It's effectively sell us Mount for a fair price or watch us push the price of Caicedo through the roof and make life very difficult for you.

Nope. Last season we mainly played 4141 in defence and 325/316 in attack.
I fecking wish we went for Caicedo and then snapped up Mount for free next summer but that'd be way too sensible a move for Utd.
They can do whatever they want. If they want mount should meet our valuation. Same for us if we want caicedo we will meet brighton s valuation.
