Worked hard but not on the ball enough. Story of his United career so far.

Like the rest of the starting front three, worked hard but offered little threat.

Not good enough. When a United attacker gets on the ball the opponent needs to worry, he often looks like he's the one worried.

A lot of people want him starting. He's too weak on the ball for me. He's not a 10 that our defenders and midfielders can play a ball inbetween the lines to in congested areas, which means our build-up play will suffer.

We need to sell ASAP.

Eth has a lot to answer for. We're going to be cleaning up his mess for years, as this guy is on a massive pay check that will never leave.

Lingard had a wondergoal in him occassionally at least.

Mount reminds me of a more athletic Van de Beek (United version). Runs around a lot and is basically a backboard for the ball anytime anyone passes to him.
Pretty much spot on with Van de Beek

Just not a place for either in this league, even though it's clear when you watch both that they have a good brain for football and have solid technical skills.

Personally think Mounts best chance to ever come good here would be to embrace being a true CM in this system and stop thinking his a final third player. Doubt it'll ever happen but one can hope I guess.

Amad should be playing in that inside right forward role, but I'll be positive about Mount starting there if Diallo is wingback behind him and vice versa - they should very much offer a complimentary partnership.

Antony has done more in his time here than Mount

The truly horrible thing is how right that is. I really struggle to see what Mount offers and what he can offer this team

He'll be 26 next month. What we see here is what we get.

I'm always expecting no. 10 player to be creative, and showing some flair also. Mason Mount is not and will never be that kind of player, and that I'm 100% sure.

His attributes suits the runner type. Agreed that his play does seem similar to "peak" Lingard.

Doesn’t deserve starts on the basis of this non-performance. He wasn’t involved at all - just ran around

Try him in the double pivot, maybe his industry and tidiness can be useful there. If he can't caught it there sell. He's obviously not an "attacker".

One of the most baffling purchases of the 'Aggy era. I really don't know why we bought him and I really don't know what is he good at.

But yeah....let's not to be too hasty and give him time as he is just back from injury. Although, it's likely that he'll get injured again in the next 2-3 games and we'll make the same argument the next time he comes and does absolutely nothing coming back from the IR.

15 touches in 58 mins. The way we tried to play helped him be that quiet, but still poor
Barely received the ball with us passing it around at the back all the time
This. Just a typical Mount performance but taken to an extremum. Whenever he gets the ball he moves the ball quickly and neatly. But those occassions are far too rare as he seems to be away from where the football is being played. I don't get it, is he following instructions? Is that his instinct? Or simply in this game we could not get the ball to the forwards enough?

He's not a powerful runner/dribbler like Maddison type of #10, I think he suits the midfield role more than this second #10 or whatever is this role. His pressing is good but against top team like Arsenal fairly ineffective.

Can we blame injuries, he doesn't get on the ball or contribute much offensively, that's not a fitness issue.

This guy and Cody Gakpo of scousers are the very definition of a nothing player.

Gakpo has 30 goals and 10 assists in 100 games. Not a world beater but hardly a nothing player. Mount so far in our team has.......good pressing.

A ghost. Haunts the pitch for some time before haunting the physio for a long time. You know it's coming.

Like for like Donny replacement.

It's a bit weird how he's adored by professional coaches but not by armchair fans. I think it's telling that people only really notice, scoring, assisting, blocking and tackling in their analysis.

Maybe he blackmails managers

You can tell he's going to be one of those players that doesn't do much but will linger around the club for years like a bad smell.

So limited in an intricate role, I’d try to get something out of him at right wingback and put Amad into one of the advanced roles.

We offered nothing in the final third in the first half last night. Very disjointed up front. But I mostly put that down to Arsenal's defence plus the likes of Rice and co being able to stop us playing in that area. They do that to most teams.

Unfortunately not the right type of opponent for Mount to shine against - not yet anyway. Partly his responsibility, but also those around him on the night.

Should only be used to give Bruno the rare rest. Like next weeks Europa game, he should in theory be able to be an effective rotation option for that game.

Me personally I never liked him whilst he was with Chelsea and England, he obviously didn't offer nothing but what I could see was a player of pretty limited ability. Certainly didn't see an individual that justified 250k a week in salary.

His drop off since the second half of his final season here at Chelsea is pretty staggering. He was legitimately one of the better players in the league at his best.

The thought during his downturn of form when he was here was that he was completely burned out from playing an insane number of matches. So I really did think that he would be back to his best fairly quickly after he moved to United.

That he still looks a shell of his former self is crazy to me. Especially since he’s still so young and hasn’t had any catastrophic injuries.

Just a complete nothing player. Yes he works hard & carries out defensive instructions to the letter. But as an attacker, he has absolutely nothing to his game that would worry a defence. The definition of mediocrity.

I hope Amorim’s gushing about him is just PR guff & he doesn’t actually see him as part of his long term vision for the team.

Made 11 passes today. The lowest of any outfield player.

Sell asap.
That is genuinely appalling for someone playing in the 10 position at United. He was meant to be our source of creativity last night and he went hiding (which is the norm for him). People who think he should start ahead of Bruno are deluded.

he wasn’t good but I don’t think he was bought by ETH and Murtough as a 10. I think he bought to replace to workrate of Fred and McT and to be cuter on ball. I still personally think Fred has been a big miss. Ugarte is going to be a great player for us but nobody in our team presses like Fred. I think he could have done a far better job than Bruno or Mount last night but there’s no shame in losing to arsenal away. Let’s see what he’s like when he picks up some form and fitness and nails down a position.

He really is a DVB-esque signing. I just never really notice he's playing. Most of his passes are 5-10 yard passes back to the player behind him and he offers absolutely nothing going forward. He works hard off the ball. I'll give him that. My biggest concern is that I often get the feeling he is hiding away from the ball when we have possession too. Ugarte even gave him a bollocking for this at one point because he was nowhere to be seen every time Ugarte was trying to take the ball forward. It's as if he's playing not to look bad rather than take the game to the opposition.

Honestly believe we should be looking to move him on this summer, if that's even possible.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/24612500/man-utd-mount-saha/ Saha was right. He also had like 30 attempted passes in his first three games for us this season. That's abhorrently bad, to the point where he has to be actively trying not to get on the ball.

This. You don't get 11 attempted passes as an attacking midfielder unless you're hiding from the ball.

His future's at West Ham or Everton.

Or probably Wolves if they get their act together.
