Whether or not he ends up being a success, the Onana transfer made complete sense.
I agree with that.

But more I watch some his Ajax games, more I see same mistakes what he make with us. My sister lives in Holland, and I love to visit them and to go watch some games. I never love to talk bad about any country, because Holland league is on another level to my country (google bosnian stadions). But EPL is on another level to dutch league. Its faster stronger, better (daft punk), its just more intense.

Inter setup complimented him, 352, with Skriniar at cb and Barella who is always there to pick the ball and carrie further on the pitch. We have MF who is scared of the ball.
Then we have keeper who is low on confidence and thats i recipe for disaster. Thats why wee need Case for one more season, to mentor Mainoo. Kid is good and need some guidance and good coaching. ETH will ruin him with his hot potato football.
And I think Inzaghi is good coach. Wouldn't mind him at UTD.

Looking forward to seeing him with a few games under his belt and seeing what impact he can have on the team.

Ten hag has explicitly said in an interview with Andy Mitten that it had nothing to do with a loan spell in the Dutch league as it was a short spell when he was a teenager and it would be daft to ask for mount based on that alone ! This was said by Mitten in the talk of the devils podcast where he and multiple other united journalists also state that it wasn't Ten hag that specifically asked for mount but that he was presented as a viable target and he gave the green light (ie didn't use his veto). There's no need to spin absolutely everything to pin crap transfers on the manager.
Not limited to Mount, but I find it insane how often people want to believe the version of events, even if it's entirely fictionalised in their minds, that makes the club/Ten Hag look as bad as possible, when there is context and facts out there being reported by incredibly reasonable people. Just listening to Talk of the Devils, which is a couple of hours a week commitment, gives so much information from some top Utd related journalists regarding things going on at the club. Whitwell in particular is evidently a very committed journalist with strong ethics.

Which version of events. You mean actual facts. So lets look at his signings that played for him: Martinez, Antony, Onana, Ambrabat (50 times at Utrecht); then those that played against him in Dutch league: Mount, Malacia, Weghorst. By all accounts Mount was MoTM against Ajax and Malacia had Antony in his pocket vs Ajax. So nearly 2/3 of his signings are in this category. Is this really some increbile coincidence or random outcome? As we have next seen anything like this in a top European team before.

Again, he addressed this very clearly in his interview. But you choose to believe your own theory - it's fine. It's somewhat deluded, but it's fine.

He wasn't fit more than 2 weeks since season started. Bloody hell, something must be very wrong with our medical stuff. Every injury is at least month long.

I think Ten Hag definitely has a thing about signing his 'own' players but I've always found the Mount connection a bit of a stretch - yes faced him back in the day in the Dutch league, but then he also faced James Madison more recently in the Premier League. If we had signed Madison rather than Mount, would we be using that argument?

Erik tried to sign Mason at Ajax, then went and signed him at United. He clearly has a blind spot for players he ‘knows’.

He’s not injured at the moment apparently. He suffers from mental health issues and that’s why he’s out .

Or maybe he just rates Mason Mount? After all, Mount wasn’t one of his ex players when he tried to sign him for Ajax.

Not sure if serious but I believe there is a lot of upside
I also think he's far better than what he has showed so far. For starters he has not yet been played in what I believe is by far his best positon: as a CAM. I've seen him win PL games on his own and even the odd game in Europe. He's way more than what he has shown for sure. Just a victim of a terrible situation and a clueless coach.

Could easily have waited till Jan to sign him due to him being injured all the time. Would have saved about 30 million.

I am serious. I think he will be very good for us.
Well it is hardly an unpopular opinion even if it is on here for some strange reason.
He was excellent when on loan to Derby and he was very good at Chelsea and he is still a young man so I think once he is fully fit and has a few games under his belt he will be very good for us as well.

30 goals and 28 assists in all competitions for Chelsea in 4 seasons. Still 25 years old. Clearly there is potential in him. He’s actually a good passer (can play long passes and play through passes), good with link up play, made lot of assists via set pieces (but also thanks to chelsea who had Rudiger And Zouma who were very good in the air), great at pressing, and has versatility to play different role. He‘s certainly not a dribbler and I need to watch him more to see whether he is good in tight space but I don’t think he’s as bad as what people in here actually making and there is potential in him as long as he can be free from injuries.

He started in our first two league games, since then he got injured. Came back from injury and got injured again. So the manager actually hasn’t get the chance to start him. When he was on the bench, that was mainly because he came back from injury and tried to regain his match fitness.

I have a concern with his injury record here. Not looking good. He wasn’t injury prone in his first three seasons at chelsea, only just started to get injuries in his 4th season and continued up to now.

So, is he going to play for us again this season or not? Seems like his comeback has been pushed further and further away for at least a month now. If there are rumours about personal issues, then I'm starting to believe it now.

It's a shame because I really like this guy and I think there's a big chance he'll turn into a really good player for us. Most likely under a new manager that doesn't use him as a second striker.

What’s the story with him? He returned to training a few weeks ago now and there were even pics of him in training yet since then there’s been absolutely nothing. Surely he’s fit enough at this point to be in the squad or is there something else going on?

Theres rumours theres more too it than injury, but I'd imagine those are just the usual BS.

What is actually wrong with him? When he got injured they said he would be out for a month. His last game for us was 11th of Nov!

Mental health issues. Could be bollocks

If mental health is an issue, as part of a transfer signing process, why is this not looked in to by professionals in the field? I mean, with wages, we're looking at a 70m + "investment". Due diligence surely comes into play?

Irrespective of it's a "mental health issue" or not, what a complete and utter waste of money. Everything about this transfer fecking reeks of shit.

If it wasn't for us, Chelsea would have been the sole clowns of the summer transfer window. We should next buy Gallagher for 80m pounds.

I think whoever the next manager after ETH is will like Mount a lot.

I don't think that means he'll be great or anything, but he'll be in the team.

If the mental issues are true then hopefully a rival club signs him for a similar fee that we paid for ASAP. This isn't a healthy club to be in. Win-win.
